A pile of rocks that was the fireplace where we sat after supper, Papa an his pipe, Brother an his toys soldiers, heart of the home. A worn out number 3 warshtub, stickin' out the ground, where Momma warshed our clothes. Momma, the heart of the family. A single Tiger Lilly, last of the garden that fed us, a flat space on the floor of the woods, a cut in the hillside, the corpse of a cherry tree, a line of stones, a feeling of loneliness, of somethin' missed, somethin' lost, warm gone cold. Stones, side by side, some leanin', some fell, moss covered, names worn away by the rain, where we lay as the years pass above us and our minute become dust. We really did live, we really did matter, we made this piece of the world a place for human kind to work an love an sweat an laugh an cry, an then it was all gone, gone back to the Mother an, sometimes, a Soul like ours will walk our way and think of us.
Great video, I always love seeing what the Wv Explorer is getting into. It's great to see someone showcasing the people that make is region great. Keep it up
NEW SUB HERE FROM BECKLEY WV, I'VE LEFT THE MOUNTAIN STATE NUMEROUS TIMES THROUGHOUT MY LIFE, AND EVERY SINGLE TIME, ALWAYS CAME BACK TO THE MOUNTAINS. I'LL NEVER LEAVE THIS PLACE AGAIN, PROBABLY BE SPRINKLED IN THE RIVER OR SOMETHING WHEN MY TIME IS DONE, GOOD VIDEO 👊👍 #WV💪
Mrbandit81 That’s a good question! We’re not sure. Mostly likely not other than the Park Service. They seem to be the only people who go up there. It’s not an easy find!
It burned down ..... Wildwater rafting company used the land it stood on as a base camp ..... It was purchased by the national park service a put in for river trips and a group camp site
I hear ya brother. There's so much to discover just in our own backyards. Below my Facebook cover photo, I wrote: "To travel, explore, discover and investigate - what else is there?" Great production btw.
So damn proud of you, Dave!

Not to sound bad, but I wonder if anyone has done any metal detecting around the place to see what might of been left behind?
