American Zoetrope is a privately run American film production company, based in San Francisco, California (United States of America). Founded on 12th December 1969 by Francis Ford Coppola and George Lucas, they produced a number of hit films such as 'THX 1138' and 'Apocalypse Now' in the 1970s.
Commercial Pictures was the short-lived film production company of Sofia and Roman Coppola. The company made two films from 1989-90, and their father, Francis Ford Coppola, invested in the company at the start of the 1990s.
