This is exactly what I needed today in the season of sleepless nights with an infant.

My issue is that we start doing really well, so I feel to add more, and more, and more. Then we become overwhelmed that I feel everything is wrong lol.

Yes. Been there too. That is not a sign to throw everything out but to back off to the point where things were working. That’s your set point.

😅 I am currently purging and then packing school things away, so they are out of sight, so I don't go out of my mind and overwhelm myself and my children (again) AND I also have to "tunnel vision," no more looking at really neat looking new curriculum that I come across 😬😂 ❤

Pam, thank you for being authentic and honest with us! It’s so helpful. Yes, this was a struggle for me as well. I was so frustrated when my daughter was younger and she would have Groundhog Day that she had to do school every day. Why was this a surprise to her?! Because I was so inconsistent and didn’t have a predictable routine! It was my problem!
As soon as I bc committed to treating homeschooling as a job, things fell into place and became much more enjoyable for all. I prepared ahead of time, got up early, made a “day at a glance” list, and implemented a rhythm. Like magic-it was better!

I just love your vlogs I look forward to them each week. I am and have always been a perfectionist and have worked on trying not to be for years. I didn’t even realize that’s what my problem was until your last video on this and this video helps even more! I so so so appreciate you saying it out loud, every other person I have seen might dance around this topic but you honestly call it out and that has helped me the most!! Watching you not be afraid to say the truth out loud honestly lets me take a breath and feel ok about my homeschool! It’s also because of you that I know what the word consistent means! It doesn’t mean consistent perfectionism. Since implementing morning basket and one thing I love just for 10 min as a part of that, reading out loud a fun book, it’s made starting school and getting a rhythm so fun! You really have helped me more than I can say, which in turn helps my kids!! Thank you!!

This was a game-changer for me a few years ago. Very helpful!

Pam, your encouragement to use the sticky note method really helped me over the hurdle of consistency. (Set a rough amount of time for a subject, work on the lesson til the timer beeps, then 🛑Stop, put a sticky note in the lesson book, and pick up there the next time.). This was a great pep talk, thank you… many blessings! 💕

I am glad you found it helpful. I still use that with high schoolers too. 😂
