For my hatch that has 7" ground clearance.
    1. Road with speed bumps is the only way to enter my house, which is sad if I own low sports car.
    2. Fortunately, in my province, all traffic lights have additional light across the stop line, so it is not a problem even for supercars.
    3. One of my concern during driving hatchback. Most car in my region are minivans with same height as mini SUV (taller than crossover but lower than truck based SUV). I must steer my lane slightly to the middle if I want to pass the vehicle in front of me.
    4. I don't know how old is my suspension because it is second hand, but it is too stiff for regular cars, which must slow down if the pothole is unavoidable.

One issue I've encountered even more after lowering my rice box was being blinded by 100% of all cars behind you at night - headlights of trucks, SUV's and even some sedans are right at my eye level. I either have to deal with it and not see anything in all directions or turn all of my mirrors away and not being able to see behind.
Another meme, idk if it has anything to do with lowered cars, but people, especially in big trucks and SUV's, tend to tailgate my car more than at stock height for some reason, as if they don't understand that smaller cars are lighter and can brake significantly better than your fat slow tall ugly dumpsters with an "I love dogs" magnet eating away your clearcoat.

    • @nowiecoche

And trying to turn right at a red light is impossible because you can’t see the traffics coming from the left because of the huge truck blocking my view so I’m just stuck there not knowing if someone is coming and having people honking behind me because they are wanting me to go 🙄. In Bali some stoplights have a zone near the zebra cross line where only motorcycles are allowed to go while cars will have to be behind this zone, so if you have a low car you won't have the stoplight issue because you will HAVE to be some distance away from the stoplight. Even if you can't there are always stoplights on the right or left that show the exact same thing.

One of the things I do for stop lights. I pay attention tot he cross walk indicator. If the indicator is allowing people to cross the street in front of you, well your light won't be green. When it changes to stop letting people cross the street in front of you, then use the crane method to see when your light changes as it should be soon.

about the traffic lights, in the Netherlands the lights are usually above the road and not on the other side of the junction like america mostly has, so they are like 3 meters in front of you at 4,5 meters high. my daily is not lowered but has a very steep windshield, combined with being such a small car and me being tall i regularly have to push my face all the way to the windshield to even see the green light without being able to even see yellow. for anyone wondering my daily is a Daihatsu Cuore L701 (same as the Daihatsu Mira L700) other car is lowered so still can't see the damn light

I have found that any ride height that is sufficiently different than the norm will appear closer. In my f350 people constantly think I’m tailgating them even when I’m 4-5 lengths back.

As a Suburban owner I struggle to see the signal while behind a 18-wheeler. One time I was heading to pick up my sis from school and I was following a truck in a straight direction without realise the red light. I immediately went thru and felt scarred since it was rush hour.

The roads around here are terrifying for low cars. There aren’t many speed bumps, but the roads are worse than the road from Baghdad to the airport, and that road was more crater than pavement

Driving my '78 Alfa Romeo spider to a stop light usually involves me looking over the top of the windshield, if the weather is nice, if not I have to roll down the window.

1:32 that picture is from cars and coffee in Irvine, ca. my 15 year old butt used to stand in that same spot and watch all the beauties roll in.... what a throwback... wasn't expecting to see that. arguably the greatest cnc ever (while it lasted)

Being in a lowered car is basically like driving behind a van in a normal car, you can’t see. Worst thing in the UK in my mx5 is roundabouts sometimes I can’t see people coming around the roundabout cos it’s blocked off either by another car cos my eye level is at the bottom of their door or it’s just blocked by the railings

My truck has a unique problem that only a few trucks suffer from, Dakota’s have a very short cab, like its only about 4ft tall and the driver’s seat is pretty far back, and mine is lifted to about 6ft tall at the cab and sometimes I still struggle to see stop lights, its an odd problem and is the reason why I don’t ever want to bring it back down

Nothing make me madder then when I have to scoot up to see if a right turn is safe and the big suv sees me going forward to see around it so they scoot up to. Wish I had a reason other than “small car then no see I have big car so I get all the seeing”

I used to drive a lowered car. Not for style, for handling cause I took that car to the track.
Nower days do I daily a stock hot hatch and weekend drive a stock classic sports car, a Volvo P1800ES. And you might be surprised, but my stock ride height which is high enough to pass clean over mount everest without scraping still have an incredibly low roof line. It is almost like I have lowered the roof on that car

I ripped the sump off my westfield on a bumpy road. That car stock is lower than almost anything and fantastic to drive! It just needs a lowered sump or a sump guard on it!

Most of the times I have them between roof and rear view mirror and sometimes I gotta bend my neck. And I don't drive low cars.

I'm 6 foot 3 and daily a Mini and I have to stop like 2 meters before the lights to see anything, because the roof is sticking so far forward.
Bonus: In eu traffic lights aren't on the other side of the intersection, but right where you stop, so it adds some fun...
    Still love this car :D

Guys, about the stop light problem. You could hold your phone flat low than your face(use it as a mirror) and with the reflection on the screen, that could be an easy fix for all the trouble.

Another annoying thing is when some SUV pulls up right next to you and you can t see anything on your left and the SUV is driven by some lady that takes forever to enter the intersection so you are stuck there until she moves. And you can t try and go forward slowly cause she is already too far up front

  • @andrewflores4981

A tip for the light thing. Might want to try pulling out your phone and laying it on the dash or a small mirror even so you can see the light

Just ceramic coat the exhaust system and add paint on top as an outer layer for protection then put thicker tires to deal with the height issue.
