I was skeptical and did a lot of research about this device until I bought it today to test. I told my sister to put it in her pocket when she leaves home. Sure enough she left with it, 15 min later, it showed me she was at her home. Then I see that it pings every 2-5 min of location. This thing is going to work wonders for me. If you guys don’t believe, go watch where the guy decides to ship one to Apple HQ, another one to SpaceX HQ and the 3rd one to North Korea. So interesting.

But you didn’t discussed how far you can tracked the tag? For example a mile or over a mile? Can you still tracked the tag?

I’m hoping to buy these for Burning Man for me & my friend to place them on our bikes, our camp, & on our body accessories. Will 2 iPhones work on 1 AirTag?
I got myself one at release and although it’s not perfect, still worth the small price since all my stuff is apple.. the cohesion in Find My is great. One issue, and it may be my iPhone.. it’s an 11, the first to have a U1 chip. But it’s horrible at finding the AirTag until I’m within like 5’ of it which is weird. In find my app it will always be within 20 yards of where it actually is. That’s not fantastic but it’s a start.. if I leave my backpack somewhere I know where because it’s pretty easy to narrow down and remember the spot I was at.
When I tap play sound though, instant. So that is a plus cause that makes it very easy to find when you start getting close. I got the cheapo Belkin keyring holder and it’s actually been great.. felt weird spending $15 on that but glad I did cause it’s held up and looks new still even though the AirTag is all scratched up inside it.
One of these with a Belkin holder is gonna be about $50 shipped direct from apple but it’s so versatile. For instance, i unpaired and put on my grandmas iCloud before she flew cross country and I put it in a zippered pocket in her checked bag. She was really happy to be able to see where it was at all times. I paid $30 for it two years ago and it’s been great. Bought a cheap pack of ten batteries and have only replaced twice now. Solid product/good investment 👌👍
I think video is missing a key feature. Unlike all these other trackers that require you to download an app and others as well to get the most out of it. The airtag doesn’t. When it comes in contact other iPhones it gives a location to you. That’s a far more reliable to me.
@Bubbly Latina as long as another iPhone is in the area and airbag is within 33 feet. It will send a geographical location to that iPhone and then send it to your phone.

Does it give him a notification every time I move around with it ? Or he only sees my updated location if he goes on the Find My app?

I don't think you need to download an app with the samsung smart tracker. The software is built into another app on Samsung phones.
Would be better if like Tile, it had a small button on the tag that you could find your phone with if you only have the AirTag and have misplaced your phone.

No precision finding on XS equals a pass for me. Find my is so bad in general too

Does this work for tracking your pets? I paid a fortune for Jiobit trackers for my cats. It would have been much cheaper to use these if so.
I’ve seen a few people create custom collars that fit the airtags and they seem to be quite good for tracking pets as well
No they’re garbage. If your pet runs away somewhere that isn’t right next to an iPhone (very likely) it’s completely worthless.
Can you disable the beeping in scenarios where an item was stolen and you don’t want the person that stole it to detect it?
Yeah but it’s a DIY job. You just remove the speaker. It’s pretty easy. Plenty of vids about how to.
I only have an IPhone XS, can I use the AirTag ? Or it needs an IPhone 11 or 12?

Not true at all, if you watched the video you would see It notifies phones if an AirTag travels with you that’s not yours, it allows you to ping it and gives you instructions on how to disable it
would this work to put in my car to track it if it is stolen? can i pull up a map to locate? if so, this is a lot cheaper than installing a lojack system and i'll buy it today. crime in my city is thru the roof and this would be awesome to find car quickly.

Yes it will work perfectly for that . The air tag location is updated whenever it passes any iPhone . And considering there is over a billion iPhones there will be great coverage
Lojack is still better as it alerts any passing police vehicles in real time. Cars with lojack get recovered all the time. If you can only afford this though it’s way better than nothing

I recently put this in my car(after recovering it from being stolen). I just open up the maps app and I can see the car last pinged location. it’s much more affordable than a real gps, but something like lojack is probably better.
I hear that unless you take out the speaker in the AirTag, it will eventually alert the person whole steals your car…

If your far away can You still connect to the AirTag like if your 6 miles away was wanting to put it in my car so that way if my car gets stolen I’ll know here it is

The battery lasts for about a year before you have to replace it and it works with IOS 14.5 or above

The Air Tag would be improved by providing some sort of attachment loop loke the others, rather than going for the slick “white M&M” design.

Will this work if you put this on your car in case it will get car napped or in your pet in case your pet got lost???
Would be great if I have the option to share the air tag location with family members, at this moment is not possible. for that reason the air tag does not work for me, waste of money

Whats the detection range ? The most important part.
As long as there are Apple devices (other individuals) within proximity of your tag it will continuously track.
Detection range = 33 feet

Can you use them to remind you if you leave your bag or keys behind ? For example if you forgot to take your bag and are walking away from it. Or if your keys fell out of your pocket and you didnt notice. Thanks
Great question, but no. They do not have geofencing with that ability and I wish they did.
Also, you can’t share them with you family. Example; your partner has an Airtag on their keys, you can’t see that Airtag, only your partner can see the Airtag on their keys.

The arrows feature is only available on iPhone 11 or above. May I know which phone you have? I think it’s because you may have a phone that is below iPhone 11 and it takes you to the map to show its last location.

i got A question.when i pair my airtag and hen I go to the Find My app I got 1 different Option, I got the Play Sound and next to it is Directions with you, Its suppose to be Find, why is that? can someone help me? when i click it , it goes to google maps

Of course it’s not “compatible” with android phones. Very little that apple creates is cross compatible for good reason. However, if you have an android phone and you find an airtag you can NFC the tag and get the contact info from it.

Most likely. If your AirTag is within distance of another person's iOS device, then it will tell you its location.

Iphone SE does not have precision finding or the U1 chio that will enable ultrawide precision finding. Only people with iphone 11 or above have that luxury.

In my tests about same as standard Bluetooth sometimes a bit longer. At least for Precision Finding. Sounding the alert was sometimes a bit longer.

You would get only Bluetooth finding in that case and not Precision Finding
@@markspoonauer5360 I just got one today and like it so far and using SE 2. No it won't use the advanced features, but wanted to try out one of these. I have a few tiles that aren't working and had $100 gift card to use and got this and a cheap key ring adapter as well from Belkin. Setting up was a breeze though.

Great video but I found the background music a bit too loud and confusing when trying to listen to the content. I had to watch it several times to get anything out of it. Good try though maybe next time
I’ve lost my AirTag & I’ve tracked its location, but it won’t connect to play the sound. It just says “AirTag not reachable”. Not impressed, that’s £30 in wasted in my eyes.
All someone has to do is remove the tag. I wouldn’t buy this or any other like it. I want something that’s hidden. Like small enough to fit into a phone case or something
Lol unrealistic wants you have there...battery life and durability would be extremely terrible with ones any smaller. I'd recommend giving them a try.
I'm an Android user. Why am I watching a video like this? I'll explain.
I didn't know this thing existed until it was mentioned in a newsletter from a member of my state legislature. Why? Because apparently THESE THINGS ARE BEING USED TO STALK PEOPLE, and the newsletter mentioned an app that people who have Android phones can use to discover if there's one nearby. The app is actually from Apple, so it seems they have now discovered something their R&D department apparently missed - that this thing has uses other than the innocent "Find My Keys" they probably thought of. And it can affect those of us who don't even use iPhones.
(I checked out this app. It doesn't have good reviews so if you're an Android user you might want to look at some other options. There are a few.)

Why the fuck would they make it so that it would alert another iPhone when traveling with it? What’s the point if it’s alerting the thief they are being tracked? Holy terrible.

I'm honestly curious why no one is testing the long distance hive network tracking functionality yet. Leads me to believe it doesn't really work and the hive network functionality isn't really as helpful as they claim. AKA drop an airtag in my purse... purse gets stolen... and nothing.

not sure of what use an airtag is. It is dependent on bluetooth connectivity. As long as it is with me, it will keep updating its location using my apple phone's bluetooth. However, if I leave it somewhere and go away with the objective of tracking my valuable, it won't update its location till it finds Apple bluetooth connectivity in its vicinity. So what is the point? What if no one with a Apple device comes near my valuable object for the whole day? This device is then useless since the location information is not current but from a day before when I left my valuable away. Tracking using airtag is at best on a best effort basis and therefore, it is a limited use device. It can't use bluetooth of android devices. Not just that, if it considers itself to be lost, it can inform another Apple phone user that it is lost. This is completely useless. If someone comes to steal my valuable with an Apple phone, he is provided the information that the valuable contains airtag. what is the point?

What if you don’t want someone to know an AirTag that is not theirs is traveling with them. Maybe they have kidnapped your kid and you don’t want them to know they are being tracked. Or they stole your golf clubs
Apparently they have a small speaker wire in them that can be snipped from what I understand but I'm just learning so don't take that as gospel. Plus, I don't know that that would neccessarily be helpful for what you are describing but yeah, apparently they can be opened up and modified at least to some extent if you are handy that way when it comes to tech.

I put one of these on my Motorcycle….the bike was stolen…it let the bike thief know that he was being tracked by pinging his phone - Airtag chucked in the river and my bike never seen again!!! Waste of time!!!!
