@@wellardsmith3629 Back in Oct/Nov 2022 there was a HAL policy that if the cruise was longer than 30 days there were extras (not sure if this still happens). Primarily an improved Main Dining Room menu. The cruise director was fairly new & was the girlfriend of one of the officers. She was very young, inexperienced & very pretty who had trouble pronouncing the word ‘UNESCO’. The chef was wonderful who consistently outdid himself with local foods. The first environmental speaker was only okay, but half way through the cruise another speaker came on board & she was amazing!! We couldn’t get enough of her. Word got around and her lectures were packed. The bar staff (we hardly drink) were fun & entertaining. The staff was beyond wonderful.
Enjoyed your video. Noordam was the first HAL ship I sailed on in 2011. Had a marvelous cruise. Have sailed on Koningsdam & Rotterdam since, love those "dam" ships!
We were on the Noordam in 2010 for 35 days (B2B Caribbean & TA). Watching your ship's tour brings back so many wonderful memories. A bit emotional as my husband passed away in 2016. Who is the captain now? - it was John Scott

We have cruised on the Noordam more than twice. Loved it. Prior to its service, we traveled on the previous Noordam. Both were great. The older one was much smaller and very classic. Both the old Noordam and its sister, the old Nieuw Amsterdam, had the annoying engine repetitive surge that you could hear and feel throughout the ship. But we still enjoyed both the older ships.
@@sm4515 I really don’t know. The ships used to do that, but not sure now. The newer ships don’t do as much of that because of the music walk venues. Contact Holland America directly.
Interesting seeing the changes since my 21 night trans Pacific cruise in 2019 from Sydney to Vancouver. I had the premium, (large) inside cabin, but think next time I will go for oceanview or a balcony!

Just got off this ship in Sydney on Nov 12th after a 5 week Trans Pacific cruise. It was fabulous. A very comfortable ship with outstanding crew.
Were there lots of cultural activities and entertainment on board,given the trip was 5 weeks?.

Great tour! We just booked our 3rd Alaska trip, but are going with friends who are 1st time cruisers. This is a perfect orientation for them.

A variation of the Statendam-class Veendam I sailed on. Very classic ship at this point in time.

The contract with Lincoln Center has not been renewed. This venue is no longer available.
