Same! I'm a little surprised by how much I enjoy these videos, and they've really helped with inspiration and motivation too! I've got severe PTSD symptoms after my most recent duty period, and the depression/loss of interest has really been difficult- but watching these videos makes me excited to do the little things I often put off or dread lately, like cleaning up the kitchen or cooking or running errands. I'm glad to see other people still making a grocery list on paper! I know we have notes apps, but it always feels much more organized to sit down and physically write out a list. Halloween in itself is a take on a Pagan celebration anyways so technically we are all stealing culture in one way or another. Yes, it's derision is pagan, from the Celts. I never celebrated it when I was younger in the UK, I went to a catholic school and it never happened. The catholic took many pagan events and converted them to their own, however All Hallows Eve wasn't one of them. The commercialization of Halloween is purely American as many have stated especially since the tragic events in South Korea where over 150 people were crushed to death.. and yes I know this video is from Japan. What happens over here in the stores regarding these "celebrations" is beyond ridiculous. All Hallows Eve is where the veil is thin between the living and the dead and its time to remember our ancestors. Dressing up originated to throw off the evil spirits that will walk at that time. Carving turnips was the original way to ward off spirits with lights. Samhain. The God of Samhain is Irish, Crom Cruach. All Hallows Eve is Oct 31st Samhain is Nov 1st.

Here Halloween is not really celebrated (even less then in japan), though sometimes I make something. Not this year since we were a way on a trip. A quick dessert to make this time of year (autumn or halloween) is kaki purin. Just puree a fresh ripe kaki and add milk. There is something in the kaki that hardens the mixture :) Would love to have that pumpkin shaped mould, so cute for kabocha salad or patato salad.

I’m sure in some cultures halloween is considered religious. Some even consider it to be a demonic day. I am quite religious although I don’t consider it to be religious. I consider it a personal relationship with God. Anyways, my kids always went trick or treating and our church just did a trunk or treat for the community. So if you're not American why celebrate Halloween 🤔 I always wonder why other countries celebrate it when it has nothing to do with their culture. Idk it's just weird to me. Other than that I love watching your cooking videos cuz it gives me ideas on what to cook/buy at the store
Halloween was not celebrated in the US only. Many countries in Europe have their celebrations too. Celebrating any holiday is fun even if a person is not American. Many of you also grew up watching American shows and celebrating halloween was something shown in many of those shows that people watched all over the world. It’s now the same with Korean shows and dramas. Everyone wants to be part of it and eat Korean food, celebrate Korean culture. I live in the US now and even my city is getting a lot of Korean influence in the last several years.

@@LinnainJapan no, for 1 hour, I'm thinking that your freezer might be a bit colder than mine, and to dink it out of the can itself, that was the ice crystals form in your mouth and feels cool, oh so wash the can before you freeze, have fun and good luck

So if you're not American why celebrate Halloween 🤔 I always wonder why other countries celebrate it when it has nothing to do with their culture. Idk it's just weird to me. Other than that I love watching your cooking videos cuz it gives me ideas on what to cook/buy at the store
Halloween was not celebrated in the US only. Many countries in Europe have their celebrations too. Celebrating any holiday is fun even if a person is not American. Many of you also grew up watching American shows and celebrating halloween was something shown in many of those shows that people watched all over the world. It’s now the same with Korean shows and dramas. Everyone wants to be part of it and eat Korean food, celebrate Korean culture. I live in the US now and even my city is getting a lot of Korean influence in the last several years.

Halloween's a widely known celebration world wide and one doesn't need to be of a certain nationality / descent to decide they want to celebrate it.
