Danno. I LOVED this video! I was sooooooo happy to see you out showcasing the abundance and beautiful offerings to everyone. Oh...that fresh butter and all of those cheeses and those pickles...the meat counters were amazing and all of those bakeries 😍 I think those scrumptious looking pies were so beautiful...glad you got one! It may seem pricey , but YOU are SUPPORTING your LOCAL growers & butchers. Without them , you will be stuck buying from stores who do not inform you of where your food is coming from. Also , you do not often hear of RECALLS !!! A win win !

I bought chicken thighs (on sale) at Kroger’s in central Kentucky. It was high priced, dry and tasteless. I really think they are selling old meat. Just didn’t taste right. It’s better to pay more and shop locally to if you can.

Everything looked amazing. I would have spent a fortune! I haven't been going to the local farmers markets this year because I get a box of produce from the co-op membership that I told you about coming from a farm. It's more than we can use each week so I'm giving fruits and vegetables away. Unfortunately, it's only two more weeks of getting the fresh vegetables. Going to miss it when it ends

Wow, was that so much fun, Danno!! It would be so hard for me to choose because everything looked so amazing!! I too believe in supporting your local farmers and businesses and you usually do get a better product for sure. You did a fantastic job showing us around. Would love it if you went back one day and explored different areas but that is totally up to you. No pressure from me whatsoever. The quality is so much better and if the grocery store doesn't stop on raising prices they may be in trouble. If I have to pay high $$$ for stuff I would rather get good stuff and support local farmers. Also I love it you went there!

That is why the price hikes are happening. They are trying to wake people up on the importance of buying local and seasonal. Instead of trucking subpar produce halfway across the world or across our own country. And why there was such a rash of food manufacturers burning down. Look at the kinds of food they produced. Not good for you kinds. Have you ever heard of more than one burning down in a year before? Think about it.
In early May 2021 my daughter and I visited the best city in the world! We decided to visit as tourists this time as well as see family and friends. My mom spent her childhood living in Correyville. She told me about going to Findlay Market with my grandma, then going home and making City Chicken for supper. I'd never been to Findlay Market so as 'tourists' we finally went on that trip. I bought lots of brats, metts, and Kahn's weiners to take back home in a cooler in the car lol! Findlay Market is amazing! I'll go back again; can't wait to return to Cincinnati!!!
It's an awesome place. I liked all the great memories people have had down there over the years.
I am so old that I remember when farmers market was half price of supermarkets because there was no middle man. Not anymore.
I can't afford anything at my local farmers market. All the prices are at least twice what the stores sell them for. So that is why I grow my own garden. And I can, dry and freeze everything I can.

@@Tazzyone. I was shocked seeing rhubarb for 4.99 a pound. My rhubarb grows like a weed here on the oregon coast. Just cut it 3 weeks ago all the way and it's already ready to be cut again! I've made BBQ sauce out if it and canned it. So good. Will make some more on my next harvest in a couple of weeks.
Love the market, we visited there several years ago. We live in Wisconsin and visit Cincinnati when ever we can we have family there. Our last visit was down town Cincy it’s changed over the years it’s absolutely beautiful. Thanks for sharing that.😊

prices are comparable to the Eastern Market in Detroit. i don't mind paying more for fresh vegetables, fruits, and flowers. it is worth to support the farmers!

The difference in nutrition in vegetables grow nearby and those grown across the world is night and day.
Corporate vegetables are a false economy.

I remember going to farmers' markets, flea markets, and swaps back in the 70s, before everything became yuppified. My parents would put the camper on the truck and off we'd go, my sister and I lying in the bed area above the cab, looking out the giant windows as we drove down country roads in Michigan. Back then the markets and swaps would set up in the middle of fields and people would walk around looking over the tables. We'd go on weekends during the summer all the way thru Halloween. I always liked looking at the junk, lol, antiques. But I loved the produce best! The vibrant colors and smells of the vegetables, the fresh air, the hay, grass and earth. It was wonderful.
Ah the good old days! It's a lot of fun! I can see where it was very normal back then for people to do this. Nowadays it's more of a luxury.
Wow!! I would absolutely love to have farmer's markets to shop rather than grocery stores. Talking to the people who actually grow and prepare the food. Hopefully this is where USA is headed in the future. Support the local farmer's and bring real organic back.

That's home I'm from Madera/Kenwood/Silverton/deer park area my mom grew up in Mount Auburn and my dad grew up in OTR my dad and my aunt both used to teach at taft high School my mom used to teach at bloom elementary

This market is fabulous. I've never seen anything like it. Thanks for taking us there. I love a fresh tomato and cuke sandwhich in the summer and would have snagged that peach pie. I could just sit in a chair and look at and smell all the veggies for hours.

I never buy farm raised fish. They are mushy and don't have the same health benefits that wild caught fish have. Wild fish eat what wild fish eat. Farm raised eat man-made pellets. And live in tanks that are warmer than the waters that wild fish live in. That is why they are softer and mushy meat. They are par cooked already in the tanks. That is why I never fish in a lake that the temperature of that lake raises during the warmer months. Same thing, mushy fish. And tilapia is the fish that they use to clean the farm raised fish tanks. Worse fish ever!

Findlay market has alot more to offer than Soulard market in St Louis. Also Findlay seems more modern than Soulard. The only thing missing at Findlay(or at least Danno didn't show it, is deer meat) I'd love to try that Amish cheese, sounds delicious.

Now I'm thinking of doing a series on bonanzaville u.s.a it's a city created in west fargo, North Dakota. It's buildings from the 1800's into the 1900's including a car museum and a building with a giant model train set up

Grouper is the steak in fish! So good, but it seemed a little pricey. Spices seemed to be too high. You could spend two or three days going through the place. You could go crazy just in the sausage area. That place is like a Disney for adults!! Sure wish Fl. had something like this. You made us all so hungry!!! Stay safe. Thank you for ll that you do!!

I would end up dragging a big wagon full of stuff back with me and then trying to figure out what to eat first and finding room in the freezer for it all.
