    In this video editing tutorial Alli will show you how to reduce and even get rid of the moire effect using Premiere Pro CC that often appears on clothing with fine lines, patterns or details. Moire can be very distracting, but there's a fairly straight forward way of addressing the issue using a simple effect in Premiere Pro CC. Hope this helps!

    You can also reduce antialiasing/Moire in Premiere and AE by applying the Mosaic effect to the layer or an adjustment layer and setting the horizontal and vertical resolutions to more than your footages resolution. If you're working in a 32bpc project in AE, you can fix this by applying Levels and setting the Clip to Output White to On.

    • @AlliandWill

      Thanks for the comment!

    • @AndresArosemena
      @AndresArosemena ปีที่แล้ว

      what do you mean? I think I did not understand you because I tried both solutions in AE and don't see any difference. My clip is 1920x1080 so I configured the mosaic effect to 1922 horizontal blocks and 1082 vertical blocks. I also made the composition 32bpc and changed the levels effect setting of "clip to output white" from off to on. I don't see any of that fixing the moiré issue on my shot.

    Nice sweater, Alli!!! One of our favorite TH-camrs Jeremy Jahns is constantly wearing things that create this effect. That's cool that you can reduce it a bit. Another great tutorial.

  • @Deaddinoproductions
    @Deaddinoproductions 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Alternative technique to easily apply the Gaussian blur to just the shirt with no annoying manual masking/tracking: copy the clip onto the video track above and temporarily disable the original clip > use a keying effect like Ultrakey on the duplicate clip to key out the color of the shirt > make adjustments as necessary to get the key covering the shirt as cleanly as possible > invert the key (now you theoretically have just the shirt appearing in the shot) > apply the Gaussian blur to the keyed clip > enable the original clip below. This obviously doesn’t work perfectly in every situation, like if the shirt is the same color as the background. But it can do the trick the majority of the time.

      Thanks! This effects will work for any length of video, but it will require more work to make sure the mask follows the issue the entire time. I would say it depends on the footage and the video, as well as what the video will be used for. The song is from the Epidemic Sound collection I believe; link is in the description, but I don't remember the exact song though, sorry. Have a great day!

    • @AlliandWill
      @AlliandWill  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can’t. It’s literally impossible unless you superimposed another shot over it. The point of this tutorial is to reduce the weird jittery look that comes with moire, so a blurred shirt is the compromise.

      Actually, you can get a diffusion filter with a low intensity that you put on your lens, which will help with the issue too. For instance, the Pro Mist 1/8 (or 1/4) from Tiffen does a good job at it.

    • @AlliandWill
      @AlliandWill  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This works too! But tends to slightly soften the whole shot which may not be what you’re going for. Pro mists are typically used for beauty shots.

      If you filmed your screen with a camera/lens , the result won’t look very good - a better approach is to use software and screen capture that way.
