This UNC team at times plays like a top 10 team in the country. And then other times plays like a team that shouldn’t make the tournament. Va Tech is hot, and playing good ball! They definitely sealed a spot in the NCAA tournament regardless of the outcome vs Duke in my opinion
The Heels go down but all is not lost. If a such thing as a good loss this was. The Heels are a marginal team so to expect them to win 8 in a row would be a super task. With this they get a reset and come down to earth. Great job by Va Tech they played hungry for a tournament bid an deserve one. The Heels will be playing in the big show so the urgency wasn't there. It was a bit of bummer not to get at Duke. But who knows they may met up in the big show. Hubert said the guys were tired but seems like VA Tech was playing their 3rd game so no excuses for that. Been a different champion every year for damn near a decade now. The ACC got the most competitive games. Other conferences are more top heavy to me so those blow outs they have in the regular season don't impress me that much.

It was VERY obvious to me while watching THIS game that the Tar Heels put little to NO effort in trying to win THIS game because of even through THOUGH of a rematch with the Blue Devils scared the HELL out of them to the point they lost not only THIS game but lost FOCUS on WHO they were playing in THIS semifinal. I really don't BELIEVE they WANTED a rematch with Duke, certainly NOT for the ACC title in the championship game.
If Bacot returns for another year UNC could be great but I think he's going pro. Leaky has said he might use his extra year of eligibility at UNC. I think Dawson Garcia could replace Manek. I don't think RJ and Caleb are going pro.

I really don't think that the UNC basketball team is afraid of a rematch with the dookies. They just didn't play well at all and the Hokies came out out the gate like they are on a mission.
Hubert Davis's weak nice guy personality carries over to the team. Which is part of the reason why UNC plays wimpy ball every other game. UNC needs a stronger coach.
