This is a great video. I will ask a silly question though..-As the 70amp alternator is the only ancillary on the other side of the block, why not mount it low down on the same side as the water pump and therefore run a much shorter serpentine belt?
They are all the same, the block is no different 1.8 and 2.0, the alloy sump is the best out there for rwd drive, water pumps are different on silvertop zetec
About time you did these, great imformative upload, good points made 👍👍
Thanks 👍
Nice kit easy to fit and good adjustment
I think it would be good if you told us all the prices of all the part you are showing in your videos 👍
Perfect timing. Just bought a Zetec Capri project and I'm about to order a kit. Is it the same process for a silvertop?
It is fairly similar, but different enough that we will be doing a silver top alternator kit fitting guide in the future.
Nice camera work😉

A good question to be fair Phil. If mounted low on the opposite side the alternators tend to fail due to road dirt and water ingress👍
The Motorsport alternator kit doesn't have the snail tensioner and has a slotted bracket for the alternator. Which should be used to tension the belt?
With the retro Ford kits do they fit the 1.8 and 2.0 like the sump are the dimensions the same cheers

Would this kit work on my 1.8 blacktop thats getting fitted into my mk2 ford orion?
What exhaust manifold is that?
