Perfect example of why HOA's should be outlawed.

The HOA in these stories are pure evil i mean how can they actually believe that they can get away with crap like this only to get the book thrown in their faces and end up being humiliated and disgraced

MY question is, how do these people not become violent? I still think those stories are the ones that should be told. Killdozer happened for a reason. People should know there is always a risk when they get greedy.

Because they know alot of people don't have the money to fight it in court if they can find a lawyer willing to take the case. Many lawyers don't like to take HOA cases because they are a time money sink. The HOA tends to have deep pockets

I suppose they think that those home owners cannot afford any lawyer.
So they start stealing "legally" with false documents.
I miss only one point in this story.
Why is the HOA ordered to pay those damages.
It should be taken form the board members as being fully responsible for not stopping this Karen. Or even supporting her.
Next it should be taken from the owner of the demolition company (if those board members do not have enough money/assets to pay all costs) because he did not check the validity of that order.... If he checked and the permit was correct than the nect person to pay would be the one giving the permit without sufficient controlling all papers. And if the photograph was from the mentioned object., (Easy check with googlke maps, streetview)..if no streetview just go there and look.)
And only as last...The other hoa members as being responsible for electing the board and not sending them home when they started msiusing power.
Of coarse against the board they should also start legal actions for this demolition on purpose with prison time for the board and accomplishes (everyone who was informed with those mails within the HOA and did NOT speak out agianst it....)

What's the purpose of an HOA? Does anybody really need them for anything?
I don't need an Overlord telling me what I can and cannot do with property I buy. But I guess if you buy property in an HOA then it's the HOA's property and not really yours.
So why the hell are people still moving into HOA's?

I can’t believe anyone would let HOA do this to their home , most Americans would have bodies on the lawn instead of a shovel bucket tearing the house down ?

THIS IS BS!!! No demo crew would do it while the house is still furnished. They'd strip it out as they have to sort the waste for proper disposal.

Never buy into an HOA. There ran by a bunch of noisy Karens. They will not let you live in peace.

They tore down the house in order to build someone a McMansion that would reap them a huge profit!

All HOA association laws should outlaw any stiff fines or damaging actions and all members should be notified of pending legal actions be made transparent. If members are to assume results in legal fees or other actions on account of certain Assciation Board members the majority
should have right to object to be part consenquences and leave remaining members holding the bag oof costs!

HOA felt they are above the law that nobody going to fight back in court. End up losing the case and paying a huge settlement that HOA doesn’t have the money to pay out. Different HOA destroyed a farmers barn to crops cost them one million dollars to the farmer.

Even if he was a member you can't just bulldoze someone's house.

I’m always wondering why these homeowners don’t introduce Mr Smith and Mr Weston to get rid of the trespassers

I have never lived in a HOA and I dispense them entirely……and BTW my Aunt is a president of an HOA but she runs it as fairly as possible and she’s a sweet person.

Justice would be people going to prison for their crimes. The HOA was fined heavily, not nearly enough! Carol Stevens and anyone else involved should be arrested and going to prison for their clear abuse of power, fraud and destruction of property.

HOW can they demolish a home without 1) making actual contact with the homeowner first and 2) demolishing it complete with contents..?? the crew should have known that something was fishy when they got there and that there was no sign that the homeowner had even vacated their possessions from the home..

Changing boundaries does NOT make a home part of a HOA. There are riders on the title which need to be presented upon signing of the paperwork for the mortgage. They MUST be signed.

These stories are BS, The police would have been called immediately, phone out taking pictures. The Demolition company would have been sued right along with the HOA. How the homeowner have any records when they tore his house down is amazing? How did the city approve the expansion when they have the original records of their boundaries? No due diligence by city or HOA to prove it's jurisdiction.
What about the property owners that have weapons, when the demolition or HOA enforcers come on your land and start tearing things up? If you pull either your pistol or rifle and fire a warning shot, after they have ignored you, ON YOUR PROPERTY? Yes the heavy equipment would be shot at for the warning shot, knowing the quarter-inch or eighth-inch steel would keep bullet from damaging its engine.
Would get them to stop. Can file the injunction to cease any other work, and have time to get a restraining order.

The home owner has records as told in the history because he had them stored on his computer (plaptop) which he had in his car when coming home.
If not he could obtane them from the registering offices.
Also ALL those deeds and files are public and public stored at townhalls or (in my country) a special organisaytion for registering ALL deeds for ALL adresses in the country.
Where anyone can check who is the owner of ANY piece of ground/house and more .
Also inheritances are placed there (testaments) which makes it possible to find in minutes time the owner of any property if the original owner passed away...
