@samfenator2 thanks for that. We do have more planned for sure. A delay shootout is in the works and we did a Chorus comparison a few months ago which was fun and can be found on the channel now.
I love to hear everything side by side. Also clarifies what I expect from a drive pedal and what they can offer. Please do more of these series. I am interested in chorus, and reverb (maybe not fancy ones but basic room/hall/spring reverbs compared)
Thanks @SerkanBerksoy we enjoy doing these. We did do one with Chorus pedals here: th-cam.com/video/0BzHhH6mdhM/w-d-xo.html We are doing a Delay pedal shootout soon.
Great playing (no noodling, lots of chords), great chemistry between the players, no useless settings on the pedals, to the point. VERY nicely done guys! I ordered a Wampler Triumph BEFORE watching this video by the way. Bad Monkey AND SD-1 voicings with a 3 band eq in a hand built pedal is a no brainer in my book.
I’m an old school SD-1 guy, but I would have to Wampler, Walrus, then SD-1, and the mini Tube Screamer. Everything else was shelf material for me. However, for certain things I could see those others having a certain niche. Cool comp video though.
@jasonlewis5350 thanks for those thoughtful comments. It sounds like you and Jay Leonard J saw it the same way. It is good news for us all that there are some great options under $100.
I noticed the Triumph volume was at 25% against the other pedal at over 50%. I think if you dial it up you might be surprised. However, I am glad I saw this as I am looking to ad a pedal and after hearing them I think I will go for the Wampler Triumph or the Fundamental. I like the smooth tone on the Wampler so I think that is going to be my choice as I don't need a lot of distortion and All ready have a queen of tone dual pedal which is pretty cool for $110.
Fortunately we will all differ, otherwise it would be a very boring world. From my experience with some of the pedals, the one that has always done what’s expected of it, and cuts through the live mix, is the Boss SD1, with a tube screamer for a boost rather than an overdrive.
Jim indeed those are two pedals that get the job done. We agree everyone will have their own preferences, which is why we love doing these to get our guests perspectives and to hear from the No Fear gear community here on TH-cam. Thanks for being part of the dialog.
I’ve been using the Fundamental Drive since it launched live ( with a Tube screamer mini covering light drive tones ) , it can be fiddly to dial in the right sound for loud live use but its very very versatile and covers a lot of overdrive tones with different pick up / guitars types . My favourite overdrive in almost 50 years of playing. Okay , not keen on the sliders , and the third switch position is un usable for me , but apart from that it’s all good 👍
@@NoFearGuitarGear, you’re welcome , using it into either a mk 1 100 Katana or ( surprisingly good and v loud ) Orange Terror Stomp 20 watt , with 2x 1x12 12” cabs , both are great to push sound in live set up in pub / club set up . The Walrus Drive ( like the TS mini ) is one pedal I don’t think is going anywhere anytime soon . Enjoyed the demo too , New Sub 👏👏
They did get to go head-to-head in the semi-finals. I think we all agree that Wampler was one of the best from the day. Thanks for being part of this SPJ!

Nice! I would love to see more “Ultimate Under $100” as a video series!

Been waiting for this one! So much fun
It was fun and really showcases some hidden gems. Well don SPJ, thanks for being part of this shootout

I had a Super Overdrive and i didn't like it but it sounded really nice here, I got my Mosky and I'm keeping it!

I love the Triumph and have it and the Phenom pedals but my favorite OD is still the Nobels mini or the Boss BD2 ..
Thanks @gregmock6808 those are helpful insights. Thanks for being part of the discussion here.
Justino's hand tattoo is the ultimate "IYKYK"

as we know, ya gotta have em all...to be prepared for any situation!
We like how you think! 👍🏼

I think the Walrus Fundy has extra umph, I have the Triumph but I may just trade it for a Walrus because it similar but has a little more

It is great to hear from someone that has been using these pedals. Thanks for the valuable insights and for adding to the dialog here.

@@isitreallyisitreally1756 Thanks for those details, souinds like two good setups. Thanks for subscribing, see you again soon!
Cool 👍 maybe an idea for later , lightest full giggable rig , amp , cab , 4 fx pedals ... no one else has done it 🥳
@@isitreallyisitreally1756 we love that idea, really interesting. We will add it to the list and see if we can cook up a smart way to do that.
The most overlooked OD pedal is the...
Dan electro Daddy O.
Outta the 6 overdrive pedals I have' it's my choice.
I want an all Walrus board. I also want an all 3 series board. I'd love to see you guys do those builds.
Can you buy that flat instrument cable you guys use? Doing my first pedal board and I like that type of cable.
Yes that is by Ernie Ball and you can find it here: amzn.to/43aXXhH
In my headcanon the finals is really the Walrus VS the Wampler...alas that isn't reality. :(

GReat vid! NOw I have to look for a "mini-only" shooout. 😂
Maybe that is something that we need to do in the future. 👍🏼
Triumph screamer mode is smooth
Punch is sd1
Why does everyone get this simple detail wrong?
Is that Steve Shwetz?
I pick that too, To number 1.
Great. Thanks for watching and commenting. So many cool pedals, so little time.
Came to this one from the Analog Delay shootout. So glad you dumped Cheezy Anouncer Guy.
I love Walrus Fundamental Drive!
We did as well. Thanks for joining the dialog here.
