You want to know why Maiden has so many fans? Like so many other metal bands they're real musicians playing real instruments incredibly well singing songs about real things.
They'll have generations of fans from teens to seniors.

Respect dude...you saw Maiden on the World Slavery Tour. Powerslave changed my life.
I was 14 at the time, they were barely a month into the tour so were still very fresh and energetic. That Live video they did in Long Beach was near the end of the tour and they looked tired. Earlier that year I got to see Whitesnake a month before Jon Lord left, Cozy Powell was on drums and John Sykes on guitar! They don't make'em like that any more!

That concert was in Santiago, Chile, the home of Iron Maiden. We are a small country, so filling the "National Stadium" with a metal band is incredible. And I love to say that I was there.. :') \m/

I have had the pleasure to see this song live three times in Bulgaria and this year THE BRUCE waved our national flag during "The Trooper", my friend Maria looked at me during the song and said "Thank you for making me listen to them, this is one of the best moments of my life". Iron Maiden great my man. Bruce Dickinson is one of my favorite vocalists of all time, and it shows. That crowd is also their driving forces for their music. Their harmonization is so great as well!
Pranav Gandham they are honestly one of the best bands that I can remember when it comes to the guitars harmonizing. I think they were one of BFMV biggest influences because they do it really well too.

I WAS THERE GOD DAMN IT!!! This show was made in Santiago, Chile! My FUCKING country! It was amaaaaazing like any Iron Maiden Live show! We were 50000 people banging every single song of these amazing musicians! Now in october they are going to play again and of course I'll be there again. Goosebumps the whole video!

Two days ago they were here in Trieste, Italy and believe me: the energy you felt coming from this song is real and when you see them live, that energy is enhanced, amplified a thousand times!It starts with the first note and goes on well after the last note of the last song of the concert.
Every musician of this group is extremely talented, but most of all they enjoy what they’re doing and put fans at the first place. These are the reasons why I’ve been a fan of Iron Maiden for 30 years and I’m still here today loving them.

Even on the "Best of the Beast" compilation "Fear of the Dark" is the only song that is live performance and not the studio version. I think that Iron Maiden made it specifically for live performances and the crowd singing along.

I got to see them in that same stadium on October 15th 2019, the best day of my life by far. The energy was amazing, I would give everything to see them again.
I'm a huge fan of Iron Maiden, I literally grew up on their music from an early age. I'm 50 now, and I've been listening to their music since the early 80's. They have so many killer songs.

This was the first official song I heard, introducing me to Iron Maiden (despite my awareness of them for a couple of years). It appeared on a metal compilation called "Masters Of Metal Volume I" in 1984. My first metal album as well. The Trooper quickly became my favorite song on that mix.
I was in that concert! Actually, next to one of the flares, it was just awesome! Well, I've seen them 5 times already here in Chile, and they recorded that Show here, so it was just awesome!

Fun little personal anecdote about this song: While I was attending Field Medical Training Battalion in the US Navy, our main instructor loved this song. He used to randomly turn it on during class about 5-10 times per day. Every time it came on, we were supposed to drop and do push-ups until the song was over. Let's just say our class was amazing at push-ups after a few weeks of training (this was in addition to regular PT [physical training]). After we graduated, I was on leave and returning home up I-95. Of course, the song came on the radio. I nearly started a pile-up on the highway as I slammed on the brakes, and almost jumped out of the car from conditioning. :) I still get tense for a split second whenever I hear this song on the radio.
Have seen a lot of Metal and Hard Rock shows, but there is truly nothing like the energy wave at an Iron Maiden show. Every new album, everyone knows the new tunes and the classics, just start to finish and then you are exhilarated and exhausted. Damn i miss live music! #UpTheIrons

Outstanding song. Everything is on point (instruments, voice and lyrics), and the guitar riff is timeless. Such an unique song. The first time i heard it was during my teenager years and very very far from tired of it, specially now that it bring me back to the memories of my golden years.
There's no end to the power of metal. Iron Maiden has some of the best riffs in rock.
