    I mow a full acre in the country with trees, bushes and poles for bird houses and feeders to trim around, with this exact model. I'm 67 years old, it takes a little planning and common sense in dealing with the cord but it works just fine. When you turned you were turning the mower in the wrong direction, turning the other way and you would not have had to wrangle the cord so much. The battery models obviously are much nicer but with a very limited income I could not afford one of them especially the price of batteries. I do not have to deal with oil, gas, or breathing in obnoxious fumes plus it is much quieter and weighs so much less than the gas mowers. This is my second year with this electric and I can tell you it is not junk. I would not want to go back to a gas mower at all. My dream is to have an electric riding mower some day, it never hurts to keep dreaming...

    @MowerNBlowers Thanks for the video!! You got me on the first one! I jumped a little! Hahaha
    I have one of these mowers too. It is a beast! Kept it at the the fish camp. Always worked no matter how long it had been!! Because we didn't go that often, we always had to mow down 3 foot weeds. And still do. Just lower it onto the weeds at an angle then gradually down flat and move to the next patch. I've pretty much only mowed high weeds with it and in tight places around my barn too. It doesn't care if it's running sideways either! I just always mow back and forth across and away from the cord. Super easy, cheap and lightweight! Mine is from 2011 and this is the first time to change the rectifier. It's not a picky mower. It just wants to destroy whatever it rolls over! Haha

    Genius move by your buddy trying to start it unplugged.
    If that *had* worked I'da been ordering one of those mowers right away.
    Actually I have a similar model Greenworks with that same problem and just ordered that part from AMZ, 2for 5.99.
    We'll see if it works.
    I may even try that electrocution schtick of yours on the Mrs when I go to fix it... see if it gets a laugh.

      I show the underbelly of the mower in a few previous videos of first troubleshooting it, yes it’s a steel blade. I’ve never seen a plastic blade before nor have I ever heard of that. If if I ever saw one with a plastic blade, I’d recommend that you NOT buy it!

    I will say this about corded mowers, they so give a very level cut on your lawn.

  • @sgfx
    @sgfx ปีที่แล้ว +2

    One of the issues is that your uses to small of cord. You need to use at least a 12 gage for 100 foot (according to the user guide) or you will burn them out . A thin little 16 gage shop cord like your using in the video for long.

    you can make a corded mower into a cordless one. all you have to do is attach an appropriate power inverter and battery to it

    Ok, now I've seen many of these videos and its almost always the rectifier, so we know it's the rectifier, my mower is doing the same thing, tripping the breaker, now here are my question?...
    #1: Does it have to be the EXACT identical rectifier that came out of the mower? ..as in does the numbers on the side have to match? Or are they interchangeable?
    #2: WHEEEEEEEEEEERE can I get it? lol
    My mower is the black and decker MM275 18" mulching mower, doing the same thing. All videos say it's the rectifier, no video sais if it has to be the exact same one and where you can get it

    • @MowersNBlowers
      @MowersNBlowers  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Take the top off and write down the number then search on ebay

  • @CarlosAvellanet
    @CarlosAvellanet 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Your videos are cool but I can tell by watching that you don't know much about electricity. I'll help you a little bit. The rectifier does not control how much voltage the mower uses. It simply converts the house AC power to the DC power for the motor to operate. The center mounting screw does not ground anything either. It is used to fasten the rectifier to metal. The metal then becomes a heat sink keeping the rectifier from overheating as it gets pretty hot during operation. . Keep the videos coming!
