From a technical perspective the recording isn't that great but its a live cut and perhaps they maybe didn't have a separate mix for recording; or were not able to make a multi-track master. Three things become obvious. 1. They can all play. 2. They can all play well enough that they don't care about your opinion. 3. They're having fun jamming with a large audience watching. Put any of the detractors of this performance in front of an audience, they would not stand a god damn chance.

I listen to this through the ears of a massive TOP fan. Are they the TOP horns? No. Is the bass player Rocco? No, but he's playing his ass off and I'd love to see what kind of technique he's using.
Bass is often one of the most overlooked in videos. Pity because the Bass and Drums are the engine room without them the song wont drop into the groove. All the rest of the instruments just layer over the top. My biggest complaint is the idiots who say what camera films what instrument. They nearly always ignore or simply overlook at least a couple of members of the band. I seriously wonder if they arent even musos themselves. Unfortunately this song sounds like they dont really know whats going on so they just jam. I dont know.
The start was dope. Vocals lack soul. I've dug on you guys since the Allman Brothers days. You just miss something . in this arrangement. Palms Airport. Need to learn to snap your fingers get with it.
Marcus has all the licks down, but now he needs to get some soul. Those explosive solo's are good, but the placement and the learning of when to go full blast or just a tasty short solo might be more appropriate. Then again, it could just new material...

Its a great version, but it sorely lacks groove and just not funk. Its too open and loose. The Rocco-Garibaldi rhythm section is inimitable.
