      Yes, this is my third favourite album of all times! [2nd: (What's The Story) Morning Glory? - Oasis {1995}, 1st: 21st Century Breakdown - Green Day {2009}]

      Yes, agree. One of the best. It came some time right after The Beatles Anthology. Kinda influenced by old times I humbly believe. I love Sir Paul, I love this album.

    Hello. I want to thank you for the gift you give to guitar players. Your site is incredible, and you’re teaching methods are outstanding. I have been a fair guitar player for some 60 years, and thanks to your tutorials my skills have improved immensely. I can’t tell you how much this enriches my life. I am a three time cancer survivor and my guitar is my best therapy. Bless you

    This is definitely one of Paul McCartney's best solo albums. I have heard Paul say that this album was inspired or fresh off the work he did with George , Ringo , and John for the Beatles Anthology albums in 1994 and 1995. The 2 singles Free As A Bird and Real Love and then just from Paul relistening to every single Beatles song and many takes of alternate version of songs they did together as a band. Its a lovely kind of full circle where Paul McCartney gets inspired by his younger selfs work he'd done with the Beatles. It definitely worked out well and proved once again Paul McCartney's strengths as a songwriter. I love this whole album called Flaming Pie that Paul released in 1997.

    One of the few post-1990 McCartney tunes that can stand-up to his best stuff. Best song by far on Flaming Pie, IMHO. Too bad it’s not more well-known. Thanks for posting.

    I just think you're great man, you are always so spot on, I've downloaded whatever I could, and upon occasion I have purchased the tab , and I apologize for not being able to contribute on a regular basis, I am 70 years old and living on SOCIAL SECURITY, although music is my life, and I am always working on original stuff, but there are so many great songs to learn. But when I am looking for an accurate tab I go to you , or Jerrys Guitar Bar, or Mike PACHELLI. I just love the way you never get in the way of the music, the music is everything. Once again, thank you so much for all of this great transcriptions.

    Awesome tutorial but I have one question:
    In the intro where you play the Dm7 shape on the third fret (The penultimate chord of the intro) if you're just plucking the D and e strings than why not just use a D major shape for simplicity (the chord right after is open D) seems like unnecessary chord change to me. Is that the way Paul does it or am I missing something?

    • @aliceg2356
      @aliceg2356 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you watch calico skies video on youtube you can see Paul do it that way, (the resolution is a bit low but I'm pretty sure) so I guess it makes sense to teach the song how Paul played it. But really if you play it the two finger way you could use a D shape as you said

      You want to practice every day..
      Learning how to read music will definitely help you learn faster..
      Take music classes in school/college, participate in music singing..
      Learn all about the Master of music from the 16th-17th Century and get an ear and appreciation for Classical Music..
      Listen to all the great Operas of of those times, to help you get an ear for harmonies, and how they all fit into ALL music...
      Takes years, decades, but if you really want it, you, my friend, can have it!!
      Good luck with your life career !!

    this is amazing, my one question is which string do you do the sliding up on (just before repeating the pattern in the intro)? is it the e string? i can't get it to sound as natural.. i guess because you have to change the d chord shape which you start off with to "e major" where you end up

    Can't be 4/4. Could sound like 3/4, or like 2/4 with a triplet on each beat. 6/8 is well exploited in classical music because of this rhythmic ambiguity. For an example, listen to Debussy's Tarantelle Styrienne. I like the tuning tip. A guitar can be tuned to an even tempered scale, just like a piano. Fourth are a little wide, fifths a little narrow, thirds and sixth beat. It's what we've all become accustomed to hearing. McCartney did this song in NYC in I think 2011, all with a pick. I prefer that version.
