I didn't see you do it in the video, but you can grow, and shrink, the size of the tornado at will as it gets stronger. Knocking it back down to an EF0 will help you traverse the map quicker then staying a stronger storm. Especially out in those fields where there isn't anything to eat. You don't have to spawn a tornado where it spawns you either as you are free to move around the map to a position you want before touching down.

I like this game but that’s not how tornadoes work at all, a EF1 can not lift up a vehicle the most it could do is throw stuff around and damage roof tiles
Marcus Johnson looks like it gets to EF5 and then can’t grow any bigger so it looks like there is a size limit and its speed also scales inversely to its size (the bigger it is, the slower it moves) It seems they’ve got the difficulty about right for the tornado, but made it too easy for the chaser

The developer should add trees that are affected by the winds of the tornado. (i.e. severely bending when a tornado is approaching).
They kind of already do. They blow around in the wind and branches and leaves are taken off when a tornado hits it.
New update is out that increased the timer to 20 minutes.
