  • If you're a beginner at running/feel intimidated by it but want to make it a part of your life OR...if you want to start prepping for a half marathon, this video is for you! This was the year that I really deepened my relationship with running after I signed up for a half marathon in January. I completed the half a month ago and so here are all my top tips on how to start running, how to have more fun with it, how to prep for a half + my half marathon story time :) If you're getting into running and want to be friends, I post a lot of running content on my IG + TT too :)

    Don't be afraid of the 1/2 marathon. I'm 62 year old man,200 lbs,who had a minor stroke 3 years ago. I ran 3 1/2 marathons in the last year. Although slow, I did it. Around 2:57. Started training for another one for October 2024 with a goal of 2:00 hours.
    If I can do it anyone can do it. Take walking breaks. No shame in that.

    You don’t understand what this video just triggered in me!!😭😭 I’m a mom of 2 babies who coincidentally just got a really expensive jogging stroller for CHEAP. You motivated to put my gear on, strap my baby, and start my running journey!! THANK YOUUU 🙌🏼😭❤️

    PE classes always made me hate sports and running, but now as an adult I see that I am fit and that we should not compare ourselves to actually get better😊

    I actually came back to rewatch this video because it’s such a beautiful reminder of how we should enjoy our runs and celebrate our bodies every step of the way. I find myself getting caught up in pace or competing which really takes away some of the joy. Thank you for the reminder of what’s actually important in running the joy, the community, the love, and the support we give one another & ourselves 🥰💛

    I've started my running journey the past 2 1/2 months and trying not to track my pace is so hard! each time I get caught up with working on my pace I instantly remind myself to relax and just continue to enjoy running b/c it is beautiful and so fulfilling!

      not tracking pace is gamechanging and helps you be so much more present!!! I didn't use a watch pretty much my whole training and didn't even wear one during the race!

    Just found this video and love all the advice!!! It’s really really true and helpful. I signed up for a half in September! So excited, I’m sure it’ll be terrifying as it gets closer lol. I definitely will do a lot of run/walking!

    Just started running again after being an xc runner during high school & have been really disappointed in my pace bc I’m not where I was at then (obv) so your words on that made me really happy!! Also flying over running is so interesting will def try that!

    The only thing that I have to do is check my pace because I'm a quick runner (5.5/km) so I can do 5k easily, but as soon as I get past that, at that speed, I tank. So during training for longer I will have to check my pace and forcibly slow myself down to about 8/km at least. The music sometimes gets me too hyped. 😅

    Excellent video. Great job. I look to your videos for extra motivation. Plus, you are a cutie. Running my second half in 6 weeks. I ran my first at 2:14. I would love to hit sub 2:00 but not enough miles in so far.

    Thank you this is so helpful!! I just signed up for a half in April too 🥲 question - did you carry on your other workout routine? I love yoga, boxing, and usually do weightlifting 2-3x a week. I’m not sure if i should decrease the weights im lifting or frequency of workouts

      Yes! When I was training I did running and some strength training! But yoga and mobility are so important too :) I will say though, running training for a race does require you to do more running than other workouts so you can build endurance!!

    Tailwind is my go to for endurance fuel for runs and other activities. Definitely better and healthier than Liquid IV or LMNT

    Hi I loved your video and I have a question I recently started running and I had to walk a lot for my outdoor running of 15mn but when I tried a 20mn indoor run it was perfect how do I improve into outdoor runs? (Sorry I'm french I don't know if I speak correctly)

      so glad you enjoyed!!! maybe the reason it's easier for you to run on the treadmill is because the streets/outdoor spaces have more inclination/less straight paths, just keep it going and it will get easier!
