    this sucks as standup, okay you can point out that its sucks that women feel pressurized into buying makeup, but you could have made it about stealing sanitary towels and people would agree, or you could restructure it so that the punchline is about revealing to have stolen the expensive lipstick. Bad satire.

      it's about how forcing women (or anyone) wear make up for their job is essentially criminal, and what to do as a solution to it.

    • @RebornLegacy
      @RebornLegacy 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You ability to succeed on the job market kind of influenced by your looks, which is true for men and even truer for women. So, she's rationalising her thievery.
      I agree with your confusion though, it was a bit too academic that way she phrased it. Part of what makes a joke successful is using just the right words to express an idea, which makes it similar to poetry in that regard. I like the premise of the joke, but I think she failed to express her ideas in way that made them understandable and more importantly funny.

      thank you random dude who literally does not do this for a living for mansplaining a joke about beauty products to a woman comedian who, in fact, DOES do this for a living. It's like when I walk into the apple store and actively seek out the least qualified guy in the room to give me advice. You know, the guy who the world has chosen to NOT pay in this field for his level of knowledge? That's the guy!
      Also: Why did you feel the need to post this exact same comment twice, just with one edited a bit more and with a slightly higher but still completely useless rating attached? It wasn't a good comment the first time and wasn't going to get any better by adding to it. Now, deleting some of it? *That* might've been the ticket.

    i know shes joking but "you have to pay for your own subjectivity" first of all thats doesnt make sense, linguisitcally, second of all, nobody forces women to wear makeup except women, they compete with each other for men, so idk why they blame men or "the state" they are so simpleminded. but its fine, theyre going to end up very unhappy by the age of 30 with that mindset, childless and unhealthy
