    Hello from UK 🇬🇧. I discovered Judge David Fleischer a few months ago and I'm addicted to watching the US judicial system, iv had to Google a lot to understand certain things as UK law is different. I love the speed in which this Judge handles cases. HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL XX

    I love this guy. I wish there was a judge like this when I was getting in trouble back in the day... (1997-2001) in Baltimore. I was just a number at 17, and the judges just wanted to clear their dockets. Thet hardly even looked at me. Maybe if someone had given a damn I could have gotten my life together sooner. No one cared that I was a lost kid putting drugs in my body, and being in places little girls had no business even knowing existed. No one put me there but me, but no one cared enough to try to wake me up either tho and I wasn't a lost cause. I am now a business owner, a wife, a mother, and a grandmother. I wasted a long time on H. I lost my baby brother, my best friend, my sons dad... and I am still here, thank God.

      Absolutely can relate. I also was on H (now on methadone) and I saw the absolute terrible decisions people using drugs made. I don’t blame the person because I know they wouldn’t make such horrible decisions if they were clean. At some point I got tired of being tired and watching fiends die, become homeless and many other things. There is no easy solution because everyone has a different story. But what I do know is people on drugs or alcohol cannot make good decisions and many need a conservator. Until they have some time being clean we will never know what they are capable of.
      So glad you got clean and got your life together but we must look forward , there is no changing the past .

    Thanks Judge.Love your channel. Shows the process of court. When it’s time to go what and why Atty’s are important. The public defender finding no probable cause even after you went through it once was a great example.

    I do give this judge credit for how he handles mental illness, that dude at 40:29 he starts off respectful and talking nice with the judge who is truly only trying to help him at this point and then his mental illness kicks in and he flips out about devil nonsense and says fuck you to the judge and walks off....i have seen plenty of judges that would get all in their feelings and start screaming get him back here throwing stupid contempt time at them triggering then to go off even worse, but this judge understands let's him walk off and then proceeds to keep trying to do what he knows the man wants and is in his best intrest, he doesn't get all high and mighty IDC THAT YOUR MENTALLY UNABLE TO UNDERSTAND WHAT YOUR SAYING YOU WILL RESPECT ME ALWAYS... and that is awesome

    Seems to me that Public Defender should be free for everybody, and a better lawyer should be optional for the rich. But everybody should have the option to get a free lawyer.

    what is the point of giving 14 day paper to sign if the 14 days are not guaranteed, makes no sense. throw that document in the trash, stop giving it to people. Start telling them from the beginning in these fugitive cases you can hold them for the maximum extended period of 90 days as per the DA in the video. (1st case)

    • @JaroslawFiliochowski
      @JaroslawFiliochowski 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Guess the point is to have them come back and double check why are they still being held after 14 days.
      In this case, Judge put the DA in their place: pick up their game, or he's letting the guy go after less than 30 days.
      Otherwise, this could've been day 95 and the DA still making excuses.

      My dad practices law(though not criminal) and I asked him once how do you defend those who are knowingly guilty?
      He said that he's not defending the person per say. He's defending their right to a fair trial and to make sure that the laws governing us are fair and just. Essentially, by defending someone he's verifying not only for them but for others as well that the law isn't skewed one way or another.

    So the judge is concerned about the community but he's willing to let him out on Friday. Totally inconsistent. Why is the judge giving this guy legal advice?

    • @horridjakers7841
      @horridjakers7841 15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Because he doesn't want to continue to hold someone who may or may not be guilty, especially when the location requesting extradition might be delaying getting him.
      The judge is actually putting pressure on law enforcement to do their jobs in a timely manner. By saying "Hey, come get him or he walks on friday." Law enforcement might be more willing to collect him as soon as possible and continue with their prosecution.
