Thank you so much for your reply. It is my honor to relate to another band musician. I appreciate your service and the really hard work you and other band personal did and do to reprensent their organization and their country. Many people don't realize that we are soldiers first and still have to train to do our primary duty. The life is not as easy as it might seem. Again thanks for the reply from this tuba driver. :-)
Superb!! They even had the balls to make a ritardando at 11:50 - whilst marching!! As an Austrian Drummer I can say, that I really love HMKG, so precise and such a great sound!
I just love these guys and girls. The precision. The floating head of sergeant Solvang. The fast pace. The way they split up and join again at hindrances. We might not have the largest military, but as a Norwegian, I'm filled with pride, seeing this. This year's contingency of recruits really has to stretch their abilities to the max to get as good as these guys. The kings guards can be proud of a system that produces such an exceling result. Respect to the cameraman for keeping up with them. Filming this in one go gives a better feeling of how good they are. I suggest you listen to the pace at the beginning and the end. Not much difference there :-). I have shown this to several friends and family from all over the world, and the comments are very positive, without exception.
No matter how many times I watch this, I think they are one of the best military bands in the world. I've been to many a Tatoo and band competition, but except for the HmkG and the Royal Marines, nothing compares. And I have 23 years of military service to compare.
I’m a massive fan of these young men & women. HMKG are The Best in the world and I’ll never tire of watching them! It would be an absolute privilege to see them one day ❤🇳🇴
I’am a percussionist in The Netherlands and I really like the hmkg band!!!! I saw you guys ones in Brunssum (The Netherlands). Since then iam a hudge fan and I like the drum lines a lot and there solo performances. Greetings from The Netherlands.
As a former member of a pipe band & a National Serviceman in the late 60's I believe these young members inthere short period of service do there country proud as well as themselves
28:49 Legend has it that they marched onwards, still playing, to Bergen, and then they onwards into the sea and over to America!!11 Once they reach California, it's off to sea again, and to the coast of Japan!
13:57 *Norway in Red, White and Blue* Where ever you go in hills and mountains, A winter's day, a summer's eve by fjord and waterfall's well- From the meadows and the plains with pine trees, From the sea's rim with fishing villages and out to the white skerries, You'll meet the land in its tri-coloured suit, Shrouded in the glow of the flag's coloured glory.
Is this the daily Changing of the Guard parade in Norway? Fantastic video and performance by the band! Love the rit at 11:50 that is some skill to pull of successfully on the march!
What Cyber said. :) It is one of those ancient ultra Norwegian melodies we have, which requires it to be sung to. ;) :P Otherwise, it simply wouldn't be "Norge i rødt, hvitt, og blått". :D I say ancient, but it's not even 80 years old yet (almost though). It came out during the occupation years back in WWII, so it has alot of pride and emotion attached to it. :)
I am a former U.S. Marine Corps Bandsman. HMKG is my favorite band, bugle and drum corp in the world. Great job always.
This is the Drilltropp, i i guess the English name of it is Drilltroop (i guess)? but HMKG is basically the King's guards.
Drill corps ;)

oscarwildeghost And they accomplish this with 6 months of training and 5 months of service and drills, as they are all conscripts
May I add the marinierskapel from the Netherlands to your list?
They are! Number one... especially start with this Gardmarsch
They have to be one of the best military bands in the world. Incredible. From UK
O sincronismo e a afinação dessa banda me surpreende! Um abraço do Brasil!!!
HMKG literally the best Drilltropp on Earth, much love from Canada, Skål

It is always a joy to watch and listen to this premier military organization.
Shame not more there watching and giving them support - as a Brit I must say what a great marching band -so precise - good job HMKG !!

AMAZING!LONG LIVE NORWAY! GREETINS FROM GREECE!
Thanks for covering the microphone...
I love their cadence it’s very military in manner but funky in sound, perfect mix of history and modern day
28:49 Legend has it that they marched onwards, still playing, to Bergen, and then they onwards into the sea and over to America!!11 Once they reach California, it's off to sea again, and to the coast of Japan!
Really enjoying this, still not been able to travel there and see it live....hopefully one year I will !
The Tattoo I mean, I've seen them marching before any Tattoo, but not been able to actually see a Tattoo.
thanks for that, Foxtrack. Whatever they may be called and when it is all said and done they are a great commercial representation for Norway.
Piss off! Here we come!
Loved the ralls in Hoch Heidecksburg!
13:57 *Norway in Red, White and Blue*
Where ever you go in hills and mountains,
A winter's day, a summer's eve by fjord and waterfall's well-
From the meadows and the plains with pine trees,
From the sea's rim with fishing villages and out to the white skerries,
You'll meet the land in its tri-coloured suit,
Shrouded in the glow of the flag's coloured glory.
Møter du landet i trefarvet drakt,
Svøpt i gjenskinn av flaggets farveprakt.
8:23 Skikkelig dig musikk, Hoch Heidecksburg. :)
Lystig og herlig å høre på. Blir i godt humør av den. :)

Yeah! Loved that bit too! To pull that off in unison - amazing! New Guard wasn't so fond of it but they quickly got back in step :)
Undskyld! Companybugler.
Bealtful...
Absolutely glorious. I've run like an idiot next to them like that also. Well worth it!
Fin ritardando i 11:50! 😂 Havnet vaktgaristene på feil fot?
Uten tvil! Var planlagt C;

13:57 One of my favourite marches, not a fan of the singing part, but a really good march.. Don't know the name though :(
Norge i rødt hvitt og blått
(Norway in red white and blue)
And they are singing the lyrics to the song, just so you know. ^w^
What Cyber said. :)
