John Murray comes across as an absolute gentleman who knows his stuff and makes every decision with careful consideration and real passion. He's making a lasting mark on the legacy of the breed at Cross flat.
I agree wholeheartedly about this comment. FED by Farmers showcases the farmers in the area, but to have them as a cameo within their farm and community would be something I would enjoy to see. Thank you for sharing. Thank you to John Murray and spotlight on Iona as well.
This was indeed a great treat. We've come to love Iona, and it's easy to see where she has inherited her lovely nature and smile. Mr. Murray is a real gentleman and a brilliant role model for younger shepherds coming up through the ranks. I'm glad that Cammy and Lizzy have him in their life. Beautiful photography work too. Thank you so much.❤
This is the best one yet. Seriously enjoyable, already watched it twice! It’s triggered some really great conversations in my house already. Also it is so beautifully shot!

What a brilliant talk by John Murray about his sheep and being a "caretaker" of his sheep and the farm continuing a tradition but also constantly trying to push forward and develop the business and the farm with its livestock to meet the commercial needs of the industry. Judging by the results of the tup sales this year very many flockmasters consider that he is at the absolute forefront of this development to meet the commercial needs of flockmasters. Total congratulations to everyone involved in putting this video together. Dan
Well done Iona that was very interesting listening to your dad's story of working with black face sheep and breeding quality tups very interesting keep it up guys
Lovely video. Very informative and so interesting. What a lovely man, he is passionate for the breed & its so obvious he loves the farm. Such a great speaker and a calm voice. 👏🏼🐑🤩
So coming from a sheep farming and sheep history point of view, these are bloody fabulous Lanark sheep. We farm a varient of the Scots Blackface in Connemara. They are fine hardy sheep from the Newton Stewert line, finer boned than these Crossflatt. But these are fabulous, amazing conformation. A bit lowland, mind you😁
Outstanding video, well done to all the makers,& especially thanks to John for doing it,extremely interesting…the old pictures look more like the mayo/connemara blackface in the west of Ireland…..Thanks all👍really really good video
Ah part two of the John Murray podcast truely fantastic on farm Asolutely brilliant, what a man , family , farm and landscape ! Ah just think tihis is what the Labour Government what to get rid off. What a professional production. 🎉
This was a truly fantastic documentary film. So well produced. And John Murray's passion and pride in his work came through beautifully. He is just the sort of farmer I think most of us would like to be, if we were farmers. What a lovely man! Iona is a chip off the old block to be sure. Well done team! I would just mention, the closed captioning is not great. When you can, you might get someone to fix that.
So well done! Can we have more videos like this please? I don’t often have time to watch an hour+ long podcast. I’d love to watch other films in this style - the reflective non-interview interview!
Thank you! Its Als, the other founder of FED who captures and creates these documentaries, and they take a longer time to put together than the podcast does, but he's hoping to do more!
We are x your black face. With a texal left good strong lambs fattend well as well and mostly on just grass the mother blackface is x with a blue face Leicester tup

CAMMY you need to make this a series of farmers just sitting down and talking about why they are so passionate about farming ❤
Yep, totally agree with this comment. Fantastic video

Shucks. music too loud, can't hear the chap.
Might be time to talk to the doctor about your hearing, friend. 🤔
@roadrunnercrazy will do, thank you for the advice sir.
We've added subtitles that we made ourself - not auto generated, so hopefully that helps!
