We are so glad you enjoyed reviewing the different hush puppies! The four of us pretty much grew up on the ones from Benjamin’s so in our minds hush puppies are sweet!
Such a fun idea! I’ve never had a hush puppy so it was even more informative for me! Interesting how much the textures differed across brands. I’d love to try one sometime now haha. Thank you!!
I don’t think I recall what a hush puppy was/is, but it sounds great, can’t really go wrong with fried bread. The Martha White ones looked the most appealing and reminds me of fried chicken 😂. Apart from the jalapeño I’d try them all. Thanks for the review. No it’s not a thing in 🇬🇧. Yeah we don’t do corn bread either. There is a corn meal influence from the Caribbean, but you’d probably have to go to a Jamaican or similar style eatery to find it.
Those look good. I am craving hush puppies now. Ingles is it's own store and it is the major supermarket here in WNC. You can use the Kroger card at Harris Teeter as Kroger owns them.
I work with special needs students… we went to lunch at long John silvers one of the kids hated fish and never ate a hush puppy… well, he loved them!!! I got a call from his mom about a week later asking where we took him for loved as he kept telling her he had fried puppies and wanted more!!! I don’t eat fried food so everytime I do I get sick… lol
Very rarely do I eat Hush Puppies but I usually like them when I do have them. Which is once in a blue moon... literally 😀 I've seen a few of the mixes but I don't think I've tried those.
I use to love Martha white until I tired house autry. House autry has a really good chicken fry seasoning mix. Which can be used as a drege or mix it into a batter.
Omg i looooooovvveeee hushpuppies you are apeaking my love language! Momma take me home! My mom would fry rhem just like this and we would top them with strawberry perserves!
I watched this video out of curiosity since we never ate hush puppies growing up and I only remember my mother getting them at Long John Silvers and me not liking them. I’m sure the ones you tried are better. For those who like hush puppies, the review was interesting and should help with your selection!
I love hush puppy's but living up in Pennsylvania good ones are hard to find in local restaurants. Back in the day I could get them at the Long John Silvers near me but that place went out of business like 10 years ago. My best bet is probably finding a decent brand and making them at home. Thanks for the video and review!
Hush Puppies aren't a thing where I live; I've only had them once at Long John Silver's. I liked them! Nooot something I'd have all the time though lol The sweeter mixes (Benjamin's and House Autry) sound delicious. I hope you tried them with the honey butter!
Ive never had Hush Puppy..Id like to try a bite..Being from the UK, corn isnt a very popular item with us...I only know of pop corn in the cinemas but there are other cinema snacks .. Ice cream..A bag of Allsorts...Cadbury...Chocolate pack of Hobnobs..but my favorite is a sausage roll and a Tizer...New Years wishes to The Dunns
No we don't have hushpuppies in the uk the closest thing we have would be fried bread on a full English breakfast we had hush puppies for first time in Disneyworld they were really good.
I have had hush puppies only at seafood restaurants and sometimes I don’t even eat them. I have never dipped them in anything-interesting idea. Yesterday I picked up food at Long John Silvers and everything was so good. And that includes Cheesecake Factory chocolate cheesecake.
What a great idea. I love hush puppies. I could eat my weight in them. I have eaten at the original Benjamin’s Calabash seafood restaurant. I love that they met there. ❤My childhood was going to Myrtle Beach every summer. So I feel like I’ve been to all the Calabash restaurants. Also, my grandparents always took us to Fish Camps growing up. The hush puppies there were a chefs kiss. The Calabash hands down would be my choice. What a great idea from the Parler family. Thanks so much. Great review.

loved watching this! y’all are the best
Thank you so very much for sending them! You will be seeing them again in two more videos tomorrow 😉
We make hush puppies with fried fish and fried chicken. We usually put thawed frozen corn in the mix when we make them.
Then they become corn fritters! Delicious!
That sounds so good!
Thank you Parler family! Great comparison idea.
My youngest would eat hush puppies for every meal
I WISH I could eat them for every meal!

I can eat way too many!

We don't have them often because we eat so many.

House Autry also makes a good chicken seasoned breading and fish seasoned breading.

Hush puppy’s are what we call Slushies/Icee (iced flavoured drinks)
I think hush puppy is a brand of slushie… we had them at school back in 90s… lol

They don't have hush puppies as a food in the UK nor do they eat corn bread .
That's another food that needs to make it over there!
