I think Banni just slipped himself into self induced amnesia to protect himself from all the memories of his family in Ireland. Im so sorry for what happened to him and his family. I hope you get him back one day.
This is one of the reasons why I wanted to work or volunteer at the orphanage to help these children develop properly and show them that they are loved.
This made me cry. How could they have kept a child from becoming a member of a family who would have given him the most important thing he needed. LOVE. that's cold. I hope that the person who made this possible still thinks he/she did the right thing for Banni. I would have thought that the Belarus government would have done everything in their power to get as much of these children adopted as possible especially if families from other countries wanted them. Every human being no matter the disability needs love and to feel a sense of belonging with that - the possibilities are endless.

This documentary was made years ago, Colm made a tiny update on insta a few months back, and sadly there is t any good new, Banni is now in an institution for adults 🥺
I cried and I can't sleep at night, I prayed earnestly and wish that you're not going to give up on him. I wonder why they gave you hurdles on adopting him. At least one soul is save from deprivation and is given a loving family to care and love him if adoption is approved as well as one person less as a responsibility for the orphanage to care. According to them his condition get worse, that is because he chose to keep in his memory his happy days when he was with this good and loving family. He kept the wonderful memories with him in his own world that is why they thought he is autism. You could tell through the expressions of his face and when he cover his eyes with his arm that he is bitter he doesn't understand why he was taken away with the people that makes him happy. I really hope and pray that you won't give up on him until the documents are approved. It's not too late for him to be happy and to be with people whom he will considered his loving family. I believed he could be developed ang healed in the long run with this family. Pls always follow up his adoptions. 🙏☝😇
I can’t believe how Colm and his family are being praised when they haven’t contacted Banni in 15 (!) years. Colm didn’t even bother to bring him gifts or sweets but instead brought a film crew and so much distress to this poor young man! He didn’t deserve to be treated this way.
I have only just seen this today and made me cry so much. For Banni and all children living under these circumstances. Please can you update us on how he is doing
But the authorities never saw the videos of banni super happy with is Ireland family. You feel the love watching those videos it touched your heart so deeply.
Totally speechless 😶 that gorgeous wee boy should have been allowed to stay in Ireland with the family who clearly loved him, did I hear a Scottish accent from the Lady with the red hair? And how cute are the Ryan brothers?
My God!!!! How can this country be selfish to a child who can have a healthy life to a family willing to adopt him. It was evident that there was a great progress of his behavior and looks during his stay with the flynn family.Why??? Is there a belief that a normal person cannot love someone with special needs. What a twisted mentality. God loves us all unconditionally...so the love within us can be shared with no boundaries.
Dear God, My Eternal Father in Heaven, I ask Thee in the Name of Thy Son, Jesus Christ, to Bless and Sanctify Banni, to have Banni rescued and taken to the Flynn family if any of them are able to care for him. And if they are not able, that Banni be brought home to me where I can raise him as my own with my family and love him as Thou doest. I know Thee Father. And I know Thou knowest me and my heart. And the world shall know, that Thou art the True and Living God, the God of Abraham and Isaac. And that Thou are a God of Miracles, yesterday, today, and for all Eternity! Whose decision could it have been to deny him the opportunity to live with a loving family and continue to progress? And shame on Natalie for her part in not answering these questions for the Flynn family.

Allegedly after he visited banni the KGB were called on him when he wanted to see him again the next day

Please hire someone to get him out, orphans have been abandoned right now it's a perfect time to get him out without the bureaucracy.

The only thing that could be behind this cruelty has to be money. The orphanage surely is paid money per soul they have locked up in that hellhole.
