    You can make a Honeybee Vac real easy and cheap. You must keep the Vac running at all times until you put them in a Hive. Even if you paid high dollars for a bee vac, you still have to keep it running or the bees will get hot and die

    "Like a woman...uh, like a human.." ha ha Freudian slip??
    Here in N. CO, it snowed late and killed a lot of the blooms, thus creating a dearth. Should I feed my NUC's sugar water even though I put almost a whole box of honey on all of them?

      if they have a whole box of honey I would think you do not need to feed them

    Tim I was out at the coke plant a while back and.talked to Wendell who is in charge of the truck and trailer fleet. He told me that he does not think that they any longer use the glass jugs for the concentrate. I was hoping to acquire some of these big jugs. Do you know anywhere else that they may be acquired? Thanks Phillip Hall

    Why didn't you just use the drain hole instead of cutting a new hole?

    has anyone had a problem with the wax moth I have lost four hive to them and what can I do

    • @WallsBeeMan
      @WallsBeeMan  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Please forgive me but wax moth is not the problem. When a hive gets weak, that is to say, there are not a lot of bees in the hive, then then bees can not keep the wax worms cleaned out and the wax worm, moths take over. There are wax warms in every hive, even the strong hives. It is a process of the bees keeping them cleaned out

    A bee vac is a good and useful tool for swarm removal. A properly designed bee vac will not need a vacuum running to keep them cool. Check out my bee vac video on you tube for more info. HONEY B GUYS Good vid Tim.

      I did watch you vid. Using a shop vac, all you have to do is cut a round hole in the bottom of the vac and that's it. You can go back & use this shop vac anytime as it was intended. My Son also used a hose that is smooth inside, no ribs inside so the bees don't get damaged.

    what is the best feeder in your regards?

    • @WallsBeeMan
      @WallsBeeMan  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Keep in mind beekeepers prefer different feeders. One that is very hard to beat is a 3/4 plywood on top of the hive and you cut a round hole or more than one just so a canning jar lid will fit into it up to the ring that stands out on the bottom edge of the lid. Look at the capture picture of this vid I made and it will give you an idea what I am talking about th-cam.com/video/tUJuLxfgNZI/w-d-xo.html

    I'm curious and have wondered every time I watch one of your videos, how many hives do you normally have??? Also looking at your open yard do you have to worry about skunks and bears??? Up here in PA we have to put an electric fence around our bee yards or the bears will find them. Your videos have helped me a lot, thank you for them and I hope you can keep uploading them.

    • @WallsBeeMan
      @WallsBeeMan  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Us beekeepers have several or many bee yards and keep 25 or so in each one. We really don't even count them. Glad we don't have the bear problem here. Just snakes & mosquitoes

    Tim,
    What did you mean when you said "the honey flow is about over with"?
    I'm enjoying your videos and learning from each of them.
    Also, do you have a shop there locally where you sell your products?
    I'm going through Memphis this week and thought I'd stop in if you have a place of retail business.
    Keep up the good work!

      Years ago we started selling on line at www.durhamsbeefarm.com/ By honey flow, we mean. When there are an abundant amount of blooms or flowers that the bees can make extra honey. Here in zone 7, it kind of starts in April thru may.
