Food in Paris on a Budget - Affordable French cuisine

Online we heard rave reviews about Bouillon Chartier.. but in our humble opinion we didn't give it two thumbs. The price was very nice, but the food wasn't our favorite.
Our Hotel Bruxelles breakfast had fresh buttery pastries! My favorite was the Pain au chocolate (Chocolate croissants).
Patisserie with macaroons, eclairs, and other Parsian treats we absolutley couldn't get enough of. I really think we should adopt the cheap baguette sandwiches in the U.S., I could easily eat one per day! Can you believe McDonalds in Paris serves macaroons?!? Friendly service at Trocadero Les Moulins Soufflet. But our favorite.... Jungle Palace!! Delicious food, welcoming servers and the atmosphere was AMAZING! Jungle Palace in Paris earned 2 thumbs & 2 Big toes up!! Gigi's crepes was a close second, also with welcoming service and flambe always earns extra stars!
