I didn't see a kinpex pliers wrench. You have to get one of those, best adjustable style wrench ever made. The smooth jaws close parallel so they get a nice flat grip on hex heads. They actually grip better then a regular open end or even box end wrench if you have them adjusted right and turning them the correct direction so they clamp down with x10 force. There a bit funky to get use to but once you do it will actually work like a open end ratcheting wrench. There also very good to use on show fasteners that have a nice finish that you do want to mark up or damage because the jaws are perfectly smooth and clamp closed so there's no play unlike a normal wrench or even socket. I would suggest the 10" if you only get one and the 7" for the second.
I have to agree, funky at first but if you have the room to use them, it’s unreal... I also love the raptors, they too are quirky to adjust (I was that was made easier) but unreal power

I got a pair of those diagonal cutters. Best cutters I ever used so far. I'm up to 6 Knipix pliers as of yet. I have the 6' and 10' Cobras. 6" Pliers Wrench- very handy! And 7 1/4" Combination Pliers. I also have my first pair of Knipix, the 6" electrical installation needle nose pliers with cutters, strippers and crimp. I use those with my soundman stuff. If I was working on cars- the Knipix Pliers Wrench is the very best adjustable wrench money can buy. - cheers!
Knipex is the shit, have all but the mini bolt cutters which I just purchased and those are no exception, ive cut through all bolts up to a 10/32 bolt. Love knipex!
Picked up a pair of Knipex 9.5" linesman pliers yesterday, will be receiving the 8" diagonal cutters and 10" Cobra pliers today, with the 8" needlenose arriving at the end of this week. As you say, they are great pliers, and the bright red handles are really eye catching!
Don’t waste your money on buying a single Knipex pliers wrench because you’ll be back online straight away ordering a different size wishing you’d bought a triple set to begin with. I could have bought 3 for the price of 2. I’ll get it right next time though as I can see myself owning multiple pairs and even doubling up on some sizes. Having a set or 2 at home, car and at work. A lot of time even having a spanner set at hand I’d rather grab a pliers wrench knowing I definitely have the right size. The other day I was doing up a 4 inch continuous threaded rod. Which means both nuts are the same size, so that would mean working out which size spanner then getting the same size socket. The pliers wrench meant no second guessing and as a bonus the grip allowed me to hold the whole assembly by the bottom nut, much handier than a normal shifting spanner.
Absolutely these things are amazing and wish I would have done the same. As soon as I used one I wanted another lol. I just used mine yesterday to hold the center of a shock rod at the top of a camber plate so I could torque the nut. It was 9mm but the 9mm wrenches were to short to hold it from spinning while torqueing the fastener. The pliers did amazing for this
Knipex make the best pliers in the world. They are without a doubt the most abused tool that I use and held up the best out of everything I use at work everyday. The steel is incredible. I prefer the comfort grip myself. The grips don't come off or wear down after time. I like bondhus hex keys and klein wire stripping tools. CK welding tools. Try the 22in cobras. They are the shit for hydraulic lines, transmission/hydraulic/oil filters on Cats, fuel hoses on fuel trucks, and wheel bearing nuts. I would have bought the same size from snap on but they don't make any and im glad. The knipex are awesome and don't cost an arm or a leg

There are very, very few tool companies period which have ever made me want to switch my entire lineup of any tool type over to their name these few including, snap on for ratchets & sockets, Starrett regarding precision measuring tools, and even this is an exception as I like other brands for various tool types within this category being as broad as it is, SK magnet and pick up tooling, and Now Knipex Pliers has weaseled their way into this personally exclusive lineup of tool manufacturers. And I have to say this one has stood out heavily among the markets competition even beyond other brands which I consider similarly superior over others, keeping in mind this is also within their own respective accommodations of merchandise.

Very nice and informational video. I'm just a DYIer, and could probably get by with the less expensive tools, but because I value the nice tools my dad and even my grandfather used that I still use today, I like the idea of buying lifetime+ quality tools that I can leave my kids. For fundamental tools like these, it's worth the price difference to me. Plus, there's just the satisfaction a man (OK, a person) gets from using a fine tool. I'm fine with brands all the way down to Harbor Freight for certain tools that will very rarely get used and don't have a safety component to consider. I have to mention that it's funny - you briefly discussed the pronunciation of the Knipex name and referred the viewer to a video that discusses the topic. For those who haven't seen it, the manufacturer pronounces it "Knee-pex" (where the hard "K" is pronounced). The video definitively answers the pronunciation question, but then you proceed to mispronounce it 50 times in the video after that! :) I guess it says something about human nature - we'd rather be wrong with everybody else than be right sometimes.
I think you need to go at what fit and finish is like on these higher quality tools, I have just two of these pliers and the way they grab gives you a sense of security you don't get with cheaper made not necessarily more affordable tools, you know that you can put these things to the test and they will perform. No one seems to be able to truly convey this very well, the best I could say is that its like buying gloves some that are too small and some that are to big vs some that are custom made to your hands, you could reliably use the others but those good gloves will just beat the others.
Knipex does make a pair of hose clamp pliers,worth the money which I do have.There is a non locking and locking version of them.Knipex diagonal pliers,the only pair of diagonal pliers I have found that stay sharp so far.
For cutting nails and bolts I recommend knipex centre cutters, 74 91 250. They have even outlasted my mini bolt cutter of the same brand. They just keep going.
Carlyle pliers from Napa have had the most aggressive grip for me in 35 years of owning pliers! Going to see how Knipex performs now that they're ordered.
I have a pair of the 150mm Cobra pliers that live in my front pocket, love them. I've also pretty much replaced everything in my service bag that I can with KNIPEX - best stuff you can get and well worth the money if you use them to make a living. If you don't have AT LEAST one pair of the Pliers Wrenches, get a pair, you'll love them - or just go get the 5pc set.
I really cannot justify buying them as I hardly use them but I love looking at them and owning them - I suppose its the same with art collectors! Just watching your video meant I had to handle them !
I bought a pair of Irwin push button adjustable pliers like the Gear Wrench design you showed. The first time I really used the Irwin pliers the locking mechanism stripped out. I decided to give Knipex a try and never looked back. I like Channel Locks but for the push button design I wouldn't wast money on the knock offs again. I find it interesting that the local Cornwell and Snap-on dealers both stock Knipex.

As some one that has many of my grandparents tools! KNIPEX, ORBIS WILL, NWS, GEDORE AND CHANNELLOCKS pliers are going to last your lifetime. The same can not be expected from Harbour Freight(Doyle's or Pittsburgh)! Having said that there are some important considerations in the different ways we use our tools. Bench/Shop Mechanics working out of a chest usually should buy the best tools they can afford and upgrade as needed. For field workers it is almost impossible to keep a complete toolset. I have lost tools in crawlspaces and attics that are never going to be found. For Plumbers and Electricians the issue is first weight and quality! KNIPEX, ORBIS WILL, NWS, GEDORE AND CHANNELLOCKS are excellent choices as cutting pliers and wrenchs. BUT, always keep in mind the need for the cheap sacrifice or bash tool that you are going to abuse and lose. Most tools will do the job once or twice. But any pliers will break if used with a cheater pipe and if I forgot the $10 habour freight waterpumps in the crawlspace it isn't worth my time crawling back for them. That's why you want cheap tools also! So for the field guy you need a mix of quality and cheap. Maybe even some duplicates as sacrifices to the tool gods
When looking up knipex pliers the last set of 3 digits in the part number is also the length in milli-meters. I ordered the channellock gl6, gl10, and gl12 for under $29 on amazon... They are similar to cobra's and usa made unlike the irwin version that real tool reviews compares with knipex. Great vid Tbone I really suggest getting those channellocks since you cant beat that price at all and can use them for when you dont wanna abuse the knipex for certain things.

I want the long angled needle nosers the bevel towards the tip is what im looking for as no other pliers has that i believe, that makes it great for grabbing then holding rounded object in tight spots, would like to see them make a x-frame style. Check out ORbis brand from knipex also.

Open those cobra on up just a bit where you can completely close the handles while on that pipe and you'll really love the hold your not getting the full effect

Some other German brands that are actually really affordable (SOME of there tools anyway) NWS all made in Germany and Wiha which makes most of there tools in Germany except there pliers which are now almost all made in a Wiha owned and operated Vietnam plant to there specification. Which are still miles better then what you can get at home depot ( except for maybe a few of klien tools like there linesman pliers)US owned company's that make stuff in china actually contract firms to sometimes make tools actually designed by that U.S. company but most of the time they just contract them for a set period of time and put there name on the tools that the firm already designs and manufactures.

Hey Tony, how far does the push button stick out on your Knipex Cobras? I have the replica of it from Milwaukee and was doing brakes on a Hummer H1 and every time I'd go to wrench on it, the push button would get depressed and lose grip
I have knipex and Snap-on pliers in needle nose and channel lock styles. Like the bigger handles on the Snap-on gear but like the buttery smooth action on the Knipex gear. Probably would go all Knipex but my hands are really large and the Snap-on ergonomically feels better so Knipex will fill in for me what Snap-on does not make.
I get my Snap-on new from ebay at 60% retail, when I can find it - and lately it has been easy to find. Snap-on Bluepoint a.k.a. Chinese made I stay away from. Knipex I purchase new on Amazon.
Snap on pliers are pretty average when you compare it to the competition. Knipex destroys Snap on in one aspect where Snap on is supposed to be king of the hill - the dimensions of their pliers. Knipex is slimmer, finer, and often better designed. I find that Snap on is hardly any better than Channellock. Unless I find some Snap on pliers for next to nothing, they're not worth buying. Otherwise, for styles of pliers where there isn't much of a difference in design, Channellock is the way to go. For styles of pliers that only they make/have a big design advantage, Knipex if you have lots of money to burn.
Knipex is for everybody!!!!!!!.Pittsburg is for the trash. Pittsburg is a one time use, meaning you use them one time, and the next time you go to use them, they've rusted so bad they are inoperable. I'm a diyer, take my word and spend the money on good tools. I bought brand new crap junk tools, just in case needed them. When I did they didn't work because they sat in my toolbox and rusted closed. Junk. Knipex works. Pittsburg you throw in the trash, or give them to somebody you don't like. Either way it's a waste of money to buy junk. I learned the hard way. Wasted tons of money, on a lot of junk
do you even use any of your tools, or are they just all new, i got the knipex cobras my self i can see the oil that they have from new is still on menny on your knipex :P so either all is unused on just brand new lol :P
Martin møller lol well I am in the process of rebuilding a car so a lot get used yet a lot are also brand new. Almost 90% of my tools are less than a year old and the tools I show in my videos are mostly my home tools not my work tools. So yes they get used

Ever heard of brake clean. I've absorbed so much of it that I naturally produce it now and it keeps my hands clean. Sure I'll probably die sooner than I should have but I think it's worth the trade off

Knipex is the best diagonal side cutters I've ever bought. Had them for years and still as good as new. Cut many wires and pulled many cotter pins.

Knipex Cobra are the best pliers for pluming.
Mihael Kubatka Douglas pliers beats them for plumbing especially 1 1/2 slip nuts. If knipex had flat pliers then they could win.

does the 5pc set come with the xl? could really use the 300mm and the xl for heat pumps and chiller coils. teeth on brass fittings is a no no

I want the long angled needle nosers the bevel towards the tip is what im looking for as no other pliers has that i believe, that makes it great for grabbing then holding rounded object in tight spots, would like to see them make a x-frame style. Check out ORbis brand from knipex also.

It's a shame that Knipex doesn't have pistolgrip pliers that I know of. I just needed a pair and bought unbranded "fisherman" needlenose pliers that have pistolgrip. Nice collection of Knipex pliers you got there!

I know of orbis series, could try them out sometime. The pair I bought have even tighter angle than orbis pliers.

I love Knipex pliers. The only draw back I can find with them is they don't make some of the patterns I use. Otherwise I buy them when I can.

Open those cobra on up just a bit where you can completely close the handles while on that pipe and you'll really love the hold your not getting the full effect

Some other German brands that are actually really affordable (SOME of there tools anyway) NWS all made in Germany and Wiha which makes most of there tools in Germany except there pliers which are now almost all made in a Wiha owned and operated Vietnam plant to there specification. Which are still miles better then what you can get at home depot ( except for maybe a few of klien tools like there linesman pliers)US owned company's that make stuff in china actually contract firms to sometimes make tools actually designed by that U.S. company but most of the time they just contract them for a set period of time and put there name on the tools that the firm already designs and manufactures.

Hey Tony, how far does the push button stick out on your Knipex Cobras? I have the replica of it from Milwaukee and was doing brakes on a Hummer H1 and every time I'd go to wrench on it, the push button would get depressed and lose grip

I have knipex and Snap-on pliers in needle nose and channel lock styles. Like the bigger handles on the Snap-on gear but like the buttery smooth action on the Knipex gear. Probably would go all Knipex but my hands are really large and the Snap-on ergonomically feels better so Knipex will fill in for me what Snap-on does not make.

I get my Snap-on new from ebay at 60% retail, when I can find it - and lately it has been easy to find. Snap-on Bluepoint a.k.a. Chinese made I stay away from. Knipex I purchase new on Amazon.
Snap on pliers are pretty average when you compare it to the competition. Knipex destroys Snap on in one aspect where Snap on is supposed to be king of the hill - the dimensions of their pliers. Knipex is slimmer, finer, and often better designed. I find that Snap on is hardly any better than Channellock. Unless I find some Snap on pliers for next to nothing, they're not worth buying. Otherwise, for styles of pliers where there isn't much of a difference in design, Channellock is the way to go. For styles of pliers that only they make/have a big design advantage, Knipex if you have lots of money to burn.

Knipex is for everybody!!!!!!!.Pittsburg is for the trash. Pittsburg is a one time use, meaning you use them one time, and the next time you go to use them, they've rusted so bad they are inoperable. I'm a diyer, take my word and spend the money on good tools. I bought brand new crap junk tools, just in case needed them. When I did they didn't work because they sat in my toolbox and rusted closed. Junk. Knipex works. Pittsburg you throw in the trash, or give them to somebody you don't like. Either way it's a waste of money to buy junk. I learned the hard way. Wasted tons of money, on a lot of junk

Martin møller lol well I am in the process of rebuilding a car so a lot get used yet a lot are also brand new. Almost 90% of my tools are less than a year old and the tools I show in my videos are mostly my home tools not my work tools. So yes they get used

Ever heard of brake clean. I've absorbed so much of it that I naturally produce it now and it keeps my hands clean. Sure I'll probably die sooner than I should have but I think it's worth the trade off
