  • This an overview of the Borax Wagons and the start of the Water Wagon project. The Water Wagon will be the culmination of the Borax Wagon replication effort promoted by the Death Valley Conservancy. The DVC is focused on preserving the history of the Death Valley Era of which the Borax Wagons played a major role. This is part of what is known as the Big Hitch Era in the Mojave Desert that was a way of life in the mid to late 1800s.

I agree, must be some, democrats lurking about. Just not very bright individuals, no respect for an art as well as a skill only a hand full of people have. Once they are gone the trade pretty much dies with them. What a downer. !!!!!! In 20 years they will be made of plastic, aluminum and carbon fiber.

Why would you even think to say it’s Democrats? You are the reason people think so lowly of Republicans.
No reason to bring politics into the discussion at all but you seem to need to validate your pathetic life by thinking your better than someone else because they may think differently politically and therefore ASSume that because someone thinks differently than you it must be the same political reasons.
I could say the same thing about Republicans based solely on you but I am smart enough to know that not all (very few) Republicans are as closed minded as you are.

And I mean, forge welding on it's own is not a big deal, but forge weld those tires to an exact precise diameter is an art. This must be the hardest thing, and those folks old days just does that without blinking.

Sir, during the original construction of these wagons and wheels did the workers have any form of arc welding? If not then how do they weld the ends of the bands together and produce a band with the proper diameter?
