Your guys' videos are honestly so great. You've given me the courage to try and start asl classes finally. I have been very slowly loosing my hearing since I was a kid. For me, the bones in my left ear especially are like fused together or something, and while I could get surgery to "fix" it, I feel like it is so unnecessary. My boyfriend already knows some sign, and is going to get proficient again for his Ph.D. he will be pursuing, because most of them require a second language. It will help me once I learn, but is also just a great thing to know. ASL is not only this awesome visual language, but it is a look into my future of accepting my so called hearing loss and moving forward into a world of deaf gain.
I always get excited when my notification pops up on my phone. Sometimes I act like a kid with excitement and I'm 42. That's just shows how much you guys have a huge impact on people of all ages. Keep up the great work!
Hi Ryan and Ellen :) I'm 15 and when I was in 3rd grade my school had these "rotation" things every Wednesday and one of the ones I was put in was Songs in Sign Language. I learned Fireflies by owl city, Party in the USA, and I think one other. Anyway, it was really interesting to me that you could speak with your hands and movements but I never really looked into it past that. I've always had a lingering interest of sign language in the back of my mind since then. About 6 months ago my friend told me that I should watch Switched at Birth and it made me realize my fascination and love for sign language all over again. I started teaching myself sign language from videos and websites and when you showed Udemy in one of your vlogs I checked to see if they had Sign Language classes and sure enough they do, so I'm taking a class on there now. Watching your videos really has been helping me learn and remember signs and when my friend and I facetime we try to sign as many words as we can while we speak as practice, and we teach each other the signs we know/have learned recently. I just wanted to share it with you cause you guys seem to appreciate hearing peoples stories on why they learned or are learning sign. Love you guys! :)
I've been wanting to take auslan (australian sign language) classes for a while now but you guys have really encouraged me to do it :) once University finishes in October I'm going to do a basic 2 month online course and then hopefully next year defer from Uni to do my Diploma in Auslan! :D I think it will be especially helpful because I work in early childcare, and we have a few children who are hearing impaired, as well as many who are autistic who all use sign language to communicate. Thanks for everything you guys do, I am a big fan! :)
hi ryan and ellen! wondetful ellen good sign language your face smile alike ryan face smile humble good teach sign lsnguage! i watch youtube hearing and deaf couple since 7 years high school
If your master bedroom is hot, you will need to adjust all vents that blowing too much air into one or more rooms. Whatever you feel the hard blown air into a room, close the vent a little bit. If you have a temperature laser device to shoot at the vent to see what the temperature coming out of the vent, it is helpful to adjust the vent. Every year I use Dawn soap with lukewarm water to spray on the exterior A/C coils to wash down clean. It will run your A/C colder. I replace my air filter every two months. Make sure the filter stays clean to have a maximum airflow into the A/C unit to maximize your coldness into the house.
I wasn't gonna watch this video because I had a really bad day today and I was crying and I was super stressed out and I didn't want to watch one of your videos in a bad mood but I love you guys so I watched it anyway and I love when you guys post I also wasn't going to comment because of my terrible mood but I thought I should this was another awesome vlog.
I have a question about Ryan's mother. I know that Ryan's sign for his name is the R on the cheek, and you guys say that he had it at birth. My question is: Did she know that Ryan was going to be deaf, before he was born? Or did she find out after? Did she know sign (being in the family) or did she have to learn? Thanks guys. Keep up the great work, love your videos. and GO RAIDERS lolz
Jessi Hambrick well I don't think you can know if you child is deaf when they are still in the womb unless they have like a condition or disease that can be noticed in the womb so I think she found out after he was born, and I'm not sure about if she knew sign language before.
Hey girl It's a good step that you're researching ingredients that you're putting on your skin but what about ingredients that you're putting in your body? Bacon is a group 1 carcinogen. It is now in the same category as tobacco smoking and asbestos. Watch the documentary forks over and knives and what the health on Netflix for more info! Also I loveeee Juice Beauty!
So I want to be an interpreter when I'm older that's like my #1 dream but mostly what I see about interpreters is that they stand at the front of the room and interpret what someone is saying but I want to like translate from person to person you known what I mean so how do I become that??
I love how even though you ended the vlog on another day, Ryan is still wearing the same design Hans' icecream shirt :')
