Hey gamers! This time around we're talking about the Jadebloods, the caste devoted to caring for the Mother Grubs that birth all of Trollkind.
Their unique responsibilities form an unusually tight-knit social circle, even if they're only that close because they're stuck together away from everyone else. Got a favorite among the Caste? Different classpecting opinions about them?

by all technicality, all trolls have noses:3!! but it’s up to the artist(s) whether or not to draw it (in the homestuck webcomic there are some instances where noses and/or shadows where noses would be are depicted, but just as many panels and sequences don’t have the noses drawn!!:D)
Jadebloods deal with the misery of isolation in very different ways. Bronya feels the gap by trying to do the right thing, but not telling anyone because she is not used to actually show her true self to others. Wanshi knows little about the world she lives in, and her isolation leads her to try and fill the need for company by discovering brand new things. Lynera is obssesive, she is afraid that her loneliness will eventually consume her and leave her stranded, away from everythig she cares about. Lanque tries to feel better about his situation by physical means; looking from partner to partner something that satifies him emotionally, not just sexually, almost the same as how lustful people feel actually very lonely.

Mmhh maybe that's why jade is so sexual in the epilogue, she isn't lifebound, but I see a resemble to her and lanque there, I dunno
One thing about Lanque is that, in the NSFW route, as far I can remember, there's a dialogue that might point out that he is drunk or at least, had consumed some alcohol. This is interesting since alcohol is commonly depicted as "Liquid Courage" because people do things that they normally won't do if they are under the effect of those beverages.
In that sense, plastered/NSFW Lanque is able to act and talk in ways that he normally wouldn't when he is sober/SFW.
P.S: Lanque offering drugs out nowhere to the Reader is kinda dark, since, considering what he did on the same route, he might as well trying to dope him.
Other people pointed it out on Lanquecourse day 1, but as uncomfortable as that drug scene is, and even if Lanque tries to pressure MSPAR.... he also backs off once they make clear that they won't take anything, the DRUGS ON MY WEINER bit is played for laughs, and the entire thing is dropped.
Lanque is most of the time the "performance" of predation while also being 100% consensual, which makes him mad uncomfortable to read but ultimately MSPAR buys into it on their own terms. Passive agressive bitchiness is just, Lanque's default stance for the NSFW route more than targeted coercive behaviour.
@@coldDrive Well, if he forced MSPA to be into the drugs, he wouldn't be consensual. Even because, when someone is under the effect of drugs that they took on their own, it can be hard to prove that the sex wasn't consensual, Lanque's objective could be to make the reader uses them on his own, so that he would be safe for any allegations, if he forced or sneaked them on him, then it won't be Con and Lanque is probably aware of this.
This implies that the key factor that separates the SFW and NSFW timelines is Lanque’s access to alcohol, which is mediated by Ardata. Headcanon tangentially based on what you said accepted.
I saw a tumblr post that give the theory that Lanque shows the life aspect at its best and worst, in the SFW route, Lanque show the best qualities of the life aspect listening to Lynera and being generally good to her, but in the NSFW route, Lanque is very hurtful and aggressive to Lynera, showing the worst qualities of the life aspect. I feel like this interpretation further cements your theory of Lanque being a Heir of Life, as both his routes show him acting precisely according to his aspect.
Also connected to the duality of Life described in the previous video.
Yeah and both involve him trying to look for solutions even if it's not what others wanted like when Meenah chose to steal everyone's lives and her own (because nobody else had the courage) to continue living on in the afterlife.

I wouldn't of thought Daraya was a Rogue. I thought, what with her angsty attitude contrasting her hope aspect and her destruction of the mall, her favorite place, her destruction of her own personal hope, that she might be a Bard. I say bard instead of Prince because she does take solace in Tyzias' idea of changing the system, bringing out the hope in her.
Well, the way I see it, Daraya being a hope bound rogue would make some sense. In the beginning, she doesn't have any hope to take or take from. This causes her to act out her paradox shift as a knight of rage. Wielding the hopelessness of her situation as a weapon against the greater world around her. If you fail to find her a source of hope, she proverbially fall upon her own rage. But when given a source of hope to take from, she truly begins to shine.
I remember reading a theory of Lanque being a prince of life. I don't fully remember what was said exactly but it mentioned since in theory he could destroy and create life he was able to try to make the best outcome for himself it was really similar to your A. Claire theory where she was an alternate version of Jane

personally i think lanque is two faced when enabled (by others or when he’s in a mood) :00 i like to think he is genuinely sweet and emotionally in touch when he *can* be (in an environment he feels safer to let his walls down) but when he’s in an environment where he can’t, shouldn’t, (around certain people) he puts up the snarky and asshole persona as a defense
I love when you do blood types videos because for some reason I love when somebody does an analysis on characters with barely any backstory so then I have a better grasp of that said character's personality or mannerisms.

Edit: It makes more sense now that I rewatched the class videos. A heir is under the magician archetype. Lanques sign is sign of the alchemist, an alchemist being an abstract magician that utilizes chemistry. Alchemists **change** chemicals into other chemicals. Usually in an attempt to find the ability to turn anything into gold.
I legit kind of convulsed for a sec when I saw this. Jades are most definately my favorite cast for a plethora of reasons! Kanaya's my favorite Hivebent troll and Lynera is my favorite Hiveswap troll! Video TOTALLY lived up to my hype since you began this sort of troll-cast series!!! Hope you had fun making it!!!
I have a question: what would be the classpect of a person that can create an impeccable silly facade to deceive others out of their actual smart person?, like, someone smart enough to fool everyone into thinking they're not a treat?, when in reality they're a mastermind. They're not really evil, just deceitful.
I would suggest Witch of Mind?
Witches manipulate their aspect so your troll basically fooling others into thinking of them differently due to their behaviour seems like manipulating the minds of others to me. Also them being smart really mixes into Mind aspect nicely.
Prince of Rage, but without being a Purple Blood like kurlos would be a good start...
Heir of Mind maybe? Possibly a Bard of Light.
Keep in mind though, all classpects can role play as other classpects, classes a lot easier then aspects, though it might be problematic in the long term. Hope this helps. ^^
I would argue Thief of Heart, as the heart aspect is symbolic for the soul, or one's true self, therefore as a thief of heart you'd be taking(or concealing) your true self for another version of yourself, a mask of sorts?

I was thinking that Lanque's a Prince, but actually Heir seems way more likely? The only time he really destroyed Life would've been when he trashed Lynera on the NSFW route, but changing Life fits both routes (he tries to surround himself with people who are having fun by trying to get them to do things that he thinks are fun). x3

Wow, Wanshi sure does seem somewhat naive, but also very much still learning. I just hope she gets to grow up a bit before Alternia is destroyed. Then again, Doom Bound don't really get that chance to live happily. As far as we're aware, though. So I guess her being naive about the Alternian culture HIC has forced upon everyone is very much like sheltering her from her aspect.

I've never been very analytical, don't read between the lines or anything. I believed that Lanque showed his true colors in the NSFW route, but is more cautious of his actions around kids. He's being nice to Lynera primarily because you are there (if you say you're a kid), and he's pretty much the only Jade who's willing to play with Wanshi, and displays an interest in her hobbies.
In short, he's a jerk, but he's surprisingly good with kids.
Also, headcanon, I want to believe he knows about Karako and helps with him.
