    This was amazing and super helpful! I really like your style of showing us exactly what you are doing on the screen and sharing tips..especially the one with Figma turning everything into fixed or hug, and having to manually adjust for fill)
    Thank you so much!

    why did you add autolayout to the whole frame instead of using constraints? Can you please share

    • @DennisLeoca
      @DennisLeoca  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hey! That’s a great question! The main reasons I’m using auto layout instead of constraints is that 1) My frame will automatically adjust according to the content inside, meaning that I don’t need to adjust my entire frame every time I delete an element or an entire section from my designs and 2) Because I’m using auto layout I can easily swap entire sections by just dragging them around in my frame. The reason why all of this is working is that I keep my outer frame auto layout at a 0px distance and I add the padding and margins only to my sections. Hope this answers your question 😊

    its not that simple when you have bigger designs it displaces elements and rely to much of the container instead of the content

      Yes, you're right it all depends on the designs and how complex they are. Obviously if you're designing a very complex dashboard with loads of graphs and elements this might be slightly more challenging.
      I know that in the design community is a huge debate about using or not using Auto-Layout. Personally I think that it depends from designer to designer.
      But from my personal experience for simple layouts to me this is a no brainer.
      This technique helped me to go from 2 active clients/month to 5-10 clients that I actively manage each month (And could probably scale it even more, but I want to live a little as well :D)
      And because I use design systems, components and auto layout I can pretty much make any changes in a blink of an eye, making my life a lot easier when managing all my clients.
      But again this is from my personal experience, I know that this might not be the case for everyoane.
