Took a sailboat up this entire videoed route. Oh. My. God. No, we did not have bow thrusters. And no, we do not have steerage under 2 knots. Waiting for those bridges to open, with 12’ of space to maneuver around other boats.... what an amazing piece of America, though, for better or for worse (like most of Florida, I guess this would be considered part of an environmental tragedy, but wow, what a fascinating river/canal). Davies St Bridge, if you’re listening, you remain my favorite bridge ever.
This is very helpful, we are about to put an 80ft motor yacht in Marina Bay and i had heard some stories about the "New River". Must have watched your video 15 times Ha! Would have loved to hear the VHF interaction during the trip, maybe i can do so on another video soon. Thanks again.
Great Video, Thanks for posting. As for the home owners, rules/laws are there for a damn good reason and if they do not like the noise well maybe they should have bought or leased a home away from a busy water way. One note I will make, and I don't know if it matters, but the stretch of 7th Ave that crosses the river is also known as South Avenue Of The Arts.
what i see is a concentration of wealth the usage and provisions flowing into this and other wealthy areas cost lives here and around the world not sustainable

Great video!
I wasn't looking for the turn bridge near Riverside Park on Palm Ave....11th Avenue Bridge.
Miles and miles and miles of canals, the intracoastal and only one exit to the ocean. BUT...Miami has Biscayne Bay, stiltsville and the reefs!
Ft Lauderdale, the yachting capital of the world .
..debatable, but in the top three for sure..
Definitely not debatable, #1 in the top 3.
