Mariah is a legend I get it. But Regine is also a legend. Both amazing singers. And you’re right. It’s not about hectic schedule it’s about technique and vocal preservation. Aretha and Patti and J Hudson been belting nonstop for such a long time and still going. Regine (aside from some acid reflux issues on some performances) maintains her stamina and vocals. Mariah is amazing back in the day (and her recent performance of Vision of Love was equally amazing) but pls. Don’t equate international with superiority. Regine maybe not be worldwide like Mariah but it doesn’t mean she is less talented. For me the it's the best rendition from a Filipina singer. This song is one of the few that Mariah has never lipsync but unfortunately nahihirapan na siya sa belting ng Vision of Love kasi nodules got most of her upper chest register. Still I like this performance and 2nd only to how Mariah sang this in 1996 and 2003.

My friend recognized how much more astounding it was for me to have watched Regine than Celine. Mariah is a legend I get it. But Regine is also a legend. Both amazing singers. And you’re right. It’s not about hectic schedule it’s about technique and vocal preservation. Aretha and Patti and J Hudson been belting nonstop for such a long time and still going. Regine (aside from some acid reflux issues on some performances) maintains her stamina and vocals. Mariah is amazing back in the day (and her recent performance of Vision of Love was equally amazing) but pls. Don’t equate international with superiority. Regine maybe not be worldwide like Mariah but it doesn’t mean she is less talented. And if people think so, then let’s have Mariah sing Regine’s vocally challenging songs: Written in the Sand, What kind of fool, Narito ako, linlangin mo, ikaw and lahat sakin, sana maulit muli, Paraisong - there’s no way she can sing all those songs in the same way Regine doesn’t “whistle” - so they both got their strengths.
Also, Thank you for pointing out that Regine’s schedule is also “hectic” but she can still sing. Mariah yes has world tours but not all are live or at least not all songs she sings are live. I hate that people hate on Regine. Especially Filipinos. It’s sad. Regine (along with Lani Jaya and Lea) are the Philippines pride. We shouldn’t bring our own talents down.

For me the it's the best rendition from a Filipina singer. This song is one of the few that Mariah has never lipsync but unfortunately nahihirapan na siya sa belting ng Vision of Love kasi nodules got most of her upper chest register. Still I like this performance and 2nd only to how Mariah sang this in 1996 and 2003.
