I watched today's vlog and shivered! Then I stepped outside and was shocked that it is thawing here! I don't think I can handle these extremes. They are messing with my mind.....what little I have left of it. I saw a meme yesterday that is so true: I'm not brainless. Half of my brain wandered away and the other half went looking for it.
Good morning from Cape Cod ⛵ 23 degrees this morning but the forecast is for 100% rain in mid-40s. Sounds like a yo-yo scale to me 😂 keeping up with the firewood certainly keeps you in shape Joey, and I'm sure the dogs appreciate it 👍 I guess all the engineers at general Motors wives are being screwed by the mechanics because nothing is user-friendly anymore, every damn little repair ends up being a huge project 😕. Give me old school mechanical technology any day, is reliable and dependable. keep up the good work and keep warm ✌️🇺🇲🇨🇦
rain will be good and wash and clean everything good. that is why fixing a new vehicle is pointless with the cost being more then the vehicle. so glad i don't have to work on them thansk
Morning from Gagetown, sure is cold in the kingdom, cooled off down east too, but the wind is making it fell much colder today. Thanks for the video KoO , and Staff, hope everyone has a great day 🇨🇦🇺🇸🍺🥃
Good morning Joey, had a chance to read the Skill saw loggers book, it’s a good look into all the challenges face when living remote And we burn root balls too
Well once you have a couple beverages,,, and you get your lips working properly,, you have a talk with your parts professional, sir Rodney,, you will be all set ,he knows just what the king needs to keep your equipment going,, hope you and the staff stay healthy and keep warm, thanks for the great video
I advise not to block off too much air flow around the wood stove. I get the idea with the rocks but air flow around the stove is good too. Keep warm and safe!
I like your searches for for seals and bearings. Regarding the dual circuit MC that failed out of the box, it probably can be revived with a seal or 2..Staying tuned😎👍
Thumbs up to day drinking ! I'll be doing the same here in Prince George BC, it'll be a bit chilly at minus 30 or so. Half a foot, or 15 cm of snow the day before, so, going to have to shovel.
Ooh, sometime you'll be rebuilding a UD-18 water pump or two. Unit Diesel 18 in your TD-18's. They should be similar to the 16 series so both of us know what's what, you on Gomez and myself if the Galion pump finally flubs up. 👍 Xena, the loud fire really was a nice, crackling moment. Ahhh.
i think the UD-16 will be a smaller water pump since most of the motor is made up of the td-9 motor parts. we do all the smaller cats then we get them up and going since the water pumps on them are usually loose. thansk
What a interesting channel you have sir. I live in Speedy Creek Sask now, but originally born and raised in Prince Albert, Sask. I love the north and have been through alot of Sask, and some of Manitoba. I have never been to Lynn Lake or Thompson, but I have been to Cross lake in late seventies through Jennpeg over the ice road. Yeah that was a good time, where I became a man, lost my virginity lol, true story. If you are drinking beer when you read this, and it came out your nose, I have accomplished my goal Cheers from Sask.
growing in PA you would have enjoyed the north, now you are down in the land of wind and more wind. jenpeg was a big project and glad you got to see it. thansk
Ordering those seals reminds me of being on military deployment over seas. I would order parts and order things “just in case” because the next parts shipment might not arrive for weeks or a month!!!
Joey, you mentioned Carboned up. Something I was taught many years ago is to inject a misting of cold water into the intake manifold on a hot working welder engine. You wouldn't believe how much carbon is blown out of the exhaust stack. A needle valve for the water is all you need to clean it out.
Hey Claud, I had many many classes in Auto Tech PLUS my best friends Dad was an industrial ed teacher and we all practiced what you are saying after lengthy discussions. If I May, I would like to add that the injection of water should occur in bursts or gulps. After everything is ultra hot, then a slug of water will shrink the carbon and loosen it. Then let it get super hot again and douse it again. Back in the day when cars had a preference for 100 octane fuel, if they built up any carbon they'd spark-knock so bad they'd sound like a saltshaker with rice in it. Just a couple big gulps of water from a gallon jug would buy another 2 or 3 months. OK? (eh) That's my 2¢ worth. ben/ michigan
this cat had more sloper from not running correctly over the last 20 years and not being used. it needed a good work out pulling the drag to make everything happy again thansk
@benjamincresswell3713 yes I follow what your saying. The engine I did this on was a flat head 4 cylinder Lincoln welder. It made a difference after a lot of welding without any heavy usage once in awhile.
Hey king , what kind of mining goes on there in the cold cold north ? I use to do a lot of prospect drilling for coal and limestone in the coalfields of central Appalachia .
Technical question: Cant you sue the Whoville bigwigs for blocking you in? If the snow plow down here in the states blocks a drive and a medical emergency arises and the patient cant be responded to or get to a care facility then the driver can be held to fault
I love points. Not much ever goes wrong with points. I used to get 10,000 miles on a set ALL THE TIME and they were still functioning well. If you burn them up you need to check the value of the ceramic resistor *(or resistor wire) or the capacity (mfd) of the condenser. Coils wWant Straight Battery Power for cold start, then reduced for running. There is a balance between the power the points control based on the coil requirements *(some coils have a built in resistor) Also Too, there is a balance between the coil and the condenser involved to get huge mileage out of them, but I can't imagine you ever even approaching any kind of mileage. I don't know anything about Water Pump Lubricant that goes into the coolant eh? Maybe someone can chime in on that one, but if your seals are drying out, lube may help keep them around. Hey, the gears are always turning, gotta come up with ways to beat THE KINGS OF PLANNED OBSOLESCENCE; THE OEM'S. ben/ michigan
glad you have had good luck with point, i always seem to be walking home. the water pump grease will be in the antifreeze but better then leaking out on to the ground thansk
Just worked on a 2000 Volvo,80,000 mile maintenance. 400$ on parts ,built a 900$ tool to hold the cams. My hands and arms are scratched up. And They think they've done something! Never had to touch a motor except oil, tune up and a occasional electrical component less than 150,000 miles! 99% of all new equipment isn't made to work on. I do lawnmowers and small stuff to eat.
Long tracks for soft ground and turning downhill? Good example of long track ih used to pull sleds in the kingdom, long track May not tiptoe with the V plow ?
Blaine was a pipe line cat at one time and had the long tracks. putting the short track on with give the 1940s winter freighting cat look with the nose over hang thansk
Somebody drove their car around Whoville and recorded their trip on TH-cam. From the looks of the town it's no wonder you prefer to stay isolated out in the woods . I don't think I would feel safe living in that town !!
King so does that gas engine in the TD6 turn higher rpm than the diesel? You seem to imply they make the same power but diesel has about 2x the compression ratio, maybe more. Is there anything resembling law enforcement around there? Your description of whoville sounds like the wild west. Or is that just dramatic effect for more readers and viewers? I've spent time in Thompson, the pas, Gillam, flin flon, la Ronge, Prince Albert, Churchill. Is it worse than those?
not idea on the rpm comparisons because we never really run full throttle on the cats because you would never be able to stay in the seat. right no in the new world, all communities no matter where you live have big social problems with crime and such. the cops are useless because the cut backs and the courts toss the charges out. we worry about our selfs and enjoy life here on the edge of WHO-ville in a gated community down by the tracks thansk
Do you ,,, use substack Authoring to Rick your books, or what ??? I have not looked in a while about the name but it is substack books bookstore, I’ll look it up and get back to you , BigAl California thanks
I know king i plowed 2 feet of snow today froze my dicky bird off!!! -11 plus 60km/hr winds it was nasty mot fit for man or beast !! Freekin wind unreal ! Cold for NS ! 🍻KING

yes being cold or living in the cold takes a lot of work. will be nice when we get the warm days of spring in a couple months time thansk
Good morning from Cape Cod ⛵ 23 degrees this morning but the forecast is for 100% rain in mid-40s. Morning from Gagetown, sure is cold in the kingdom, cooled off down east too, but the wind is making it fell much colder today. Thanks for the video KoO , and Staff, hope everyone has a great day 🇨🇦🇺🇸🍺🥃
yes it was cold but we did alright just feeding the wood stoves. so glad we don't get the winds like you southern folks thansk
Good morning Joey, had a chance to read the Skill saw loggers book, it’s a good look into all the challenges face when living remote

yes that is true, i can speak very well now with both fingers, lol thansk
I advise not to block off too much air flow around the wood stove. I get the idea with the rocks but air flow around the stove is good too. Keep warm and safe!
yes we are only doing the one side and the rocks are cris crossed for air movement. thansk
I like your searches for for seals and bearings. Regarding the dual circuit MC that failed out of the box, it probably can be revived with a seal or 2..Staying tuned😎👍
i think the seals were in backward that is why all of them failed if i remember correctly thansk
Have electronic points really helps out a lot too when cold outside to be File points awesome idea thank you for the video
yes points were a thing of the past and they were made good. the new points in todays new world are junk thansk
Thumbs up to day drinking ! I'll be doing the same here in Prince George BC, it'll be a bit chilly at minus 30 or so. Half a foot, or 15 cm of snow the day before, so, going to have to shovel.
with it that cold you will need to shovel to stay warm thansk

Having common repair parts are KEY,I can fix anything NOW with parts!
yes you would have to think and plan ahead but at least you got the parts in a couple months time thansk
@@congerthomas1812 yes inventory thansk
Joey, you mentioned Carboned up.
