I love the gold because it looks more like Tom's Gibson ES-333 which personally I think that Fender and Tom were trying to aim for. People like me for example back in the day could not afford the Epiphone or Gibson model so I think this is like hey, I'm here sorta but more updated.
I really enjoy the reviews that aren’t novice blink fans that spam their riffs. No offense to them, I understand. They’re your heroes, they’re the reason you started, your e even gonna get the exact same stickers as Tom and plaster them on your guitar. HOWEVER, what I enjoy is that Tom wants the fans to make the guitars THEIR OWN. It’s a beautiful blank slate waiting for you to make your mark on it
I was never a massive Blink fan. I enjoy some of their music but I never “owned” an album or any music of theirs - showing my pre-streaming age here! I am more a Starcaster fan…that’s what really interests me in this guitar!
Good question...probably the Vintera II Jaguar...because its a bit cheaper and maybe a bit more versatile...but I really liked the DeLonge Starcaster!! If it was the same guitar BUT with a neck PU I would probably pick that
Hmm- not for me, but I'm sure lots of other ppl will dig it. Personally, I just can't get into single pickup guitars. But if I had one, I wouldn't want a hollow body with F holes- just seems odd.
It may seem odd, but as an owner, I’m seriously loving this guitar. It’s so resonant, the neck is AMAZING. The pickup has the perfect balance of clarity and grit
@@voyager1568 Did you know that it was made in Indonesia- in the same factory as the Squire Starcaster, which runs about 300 bucks, before you bought it?
@@stoneysdead689 Yes, I do know where they were built. I’ll educate you a bit. The body needed to be crafted in that factory since fender doesn’t have any other factories that can carve this body via CNC. Yes, that’s correct. However, there is absolutely, no way at all, that this guitar is Squier level. I have a CRAZY flame on my roasted maple neck, it’s absolutely beautiful. Who cares where they needed to carve the body? Everything about this guitar is top notch, and obviously needed to fulfill Fender’s approval of QC. The body is beautifully carved, there absolutely zero binding bleed. The neck is literally as perfect as you could possibly wish for. Roasted maple, I got crazy flame, absolutely zero fret ends, it’s literally one of the best necks I’ve ever felt. If I’m being totally honest, you’re just a hater. Whatever, do what you wanna do, but until you feel it in your hands, I’d think twice about what you say. This guitar is CRAZY resonant, the finish is perfect, the binding looks amazing, it has one of the best necks I’ve ever played (I’ve owned 50 guitars and played hundreds), you get surprised flames once in a while, comes stock with locking tuners and a name brand pickup. I wish you wouldn’t be so salty, this is a FANTASTIC guitar, almost to the point where I WISH I could give it LESS credit, but I can’t. It’s amazing. I’m playing it more than my fender MIJ 60s midnight telecaster, which is one of the best guitars I’ve EVER owned. I HAPPILY traded a n Ibanez Tim Henson S-style guitar for it, and I would NEVER look back on that. I LOVE my Tele. That should be a testament to how good this guitar truly is.
@@stoneysdead689 sorry for the word vomit. It’s just, this guitar feels so great, that it sparked my second wind as a guitarist (a pro who has traveled a great portion of the country while signed to a record label)
@@stoneysdead689 My Fender HH FMT tele was made in indonesia and it plays MUCH better than my American Gibson SG lol. Frets are perfect. Just because its from indonesia doesnt mean its bad.
It definitely does not feel and sound like a $300 guitar! It is Indonesian made but in the end I don’t think it really matters anymore where things are made
It’s meant to be a first impressions of a guitar straight out of the box video - as in what you get with it and how it plays out of the box…not about the specs! We will do another video with all the specs…BUT…you could just check all the specs at the fender website
It’s also got a treble bleed so you don’t lose treble when you roll off on the volume
This gold color is super underrated. Reminiscent of Tom’s brown Gibson
Fantastic video!!!
@@troyharkcom6441 thank you very much
Wow, someone who actually went for the gold model. lol
I love all 4 colors, personally, but I feel like the gold one is the least popular.

Love this axe sounds awesome!🙂
i have to stop watching these videos, it killing me because i know ill never get one .
Great video. Rate the authenticity of it
Damn now that im seeing the gold it looks hella nice
Yeah on paper that would have been my least favourite colour but in person it actually looks really good
It's a really nice guitar and it sounds good.
I am surprised at how much I like it…I haven’t stopped playing it since it arrived
@@TSFAHTPS are you gonna keep it or do you have it just for the review?
@@macbeth642 it’s only a loaner from Fender but I may actually buy it…I do like it a lot!!

If you could only choose one.....Tom Delonge Starcaster or Vintera II 70's Jaguar?
Good question...probably the Vintera II Jaguar...because its a bit cheaper and maybe a bit more versatile...but I really liked the DeLonge Starcaster!! If it was the same guitar BUT with a neck PU I would probably pick that
I don't really care for the band BUT that's an awesome looking axe.
I’m the same…im not a Blink fan but the guitar is great…and I haven’t stopped playing it since it arrived…it’s really good!!
Unusual shape guitar needs at least a gig bag included.
It fits into any standard gig bag…but yeah I’m always pro gig bags for a guitar at that price range
No case or carry bag? That’s so frustrating..
Yeah that’s a bit of a let down…it does fit into a standard gig bag without any issues though!
Is it more a 339 or 335 body if 335 it's will look huge on me lol
No bro. White knob is where its at 😐
Please do not prep all Blink 182 riffs for the full video. There’s a distinct reason that this is my favorite video on this guitar.
Haha…thank you …and don’t worry we won’t play any Blink songs in the video

Yep. It’s the only reason why I’m not buying it. It’s a Squier with a fender logo. If it ain’t made in Mexico or Cali then you can’t justify the price
