Such a fantastic cast. Gary Sinise was the perfect Stu Redman. My favorite book. I watch the stand everytime it’s on tv.
This is a really cool look back at the original The Stand Cast back than and today. Excellent video.
This mini-series was such an important moment in American pop culture, so many stars that were famous intersecting with people that would become stars. And I was today years old when I learned that Molly Ringwald did a jazz album and included the song from Don't You (Forget About Me) by OMD.
How can you possibly not mention another iconic Ray Walston role after My Favorite Martian, one nearly everyone who was a sentient being from the 80's-90's recalls him as Mr Hand in "Fast Times at Ridgemont High"?
I remember The Stand 1994 and i loved it really much
CGI was horrible then and still is...but story and casting wise still superior than the new adaptation IMO
I really like the then and now recap. It’s good to see some actors you may have forgotten about 👍
Can't ask anything more from a Then and Now video. Awesome photo comparisons, actor bio and production value! Well done 👏
Awesome video! Really enjoyed watching! Thank you so much for sharing!
Amazing! Thank you for sharing my friend. I enjoyed watching it until the end. I hope you have a happy day😄🎧👍
Brooo you always bring amazing ideas hugeeee like you rock ...never stop mate
Awsome video, obviously took a lot of effort and research.
I never could understand why Adam Stork didn't go on to build a solid career for himself - I thought he nailed the Larry Underwood character. Seems like everyone else did ok for themselves.
I totally agree. Larry Underwood and Stu always were my favorite characters in both the movie and book.
Storke really did an excellent job as Larry Underwood.
On why his career never really took off?
It's difficult to see why Storke never made it; he had good looks and charm yet either by virtue of a bad agent or bad luck, he was quickly relegated to C-list status.
Nowadays, he appears to have transitioned into the world of movie producing and writing.
...and thank you for the kind words.

(PS, yes, I also felt that way about Gary Sinise as Stu Redman. I think Gary just owns the Stu part. Fortunately, he was able to continue to grow in the industry (( have you seen him in "Of Mice and Men?
It's a memorial version.))).
amazing video. thanks for sharing

Always crazy to see these & how much these actors have aged overtime. Lt. Dan still looks the same just with gray hair🤣

Legit watching this rn
Awesome. I can't wait to watch the new Stand adaptation. This was another well-made video. I couldn't imagine if Jeff Goldblum would've been Randall Flagg. Jamey Sheridan was very creepy in that role. Lots of great actors there, and lots of great information here. Thank you for making this!
goldblum has a… let’s say unique acting style. his nervy, halting delivery and constantly gesticulating body language has become his acting signature. he was menacing in mr frost but yeah james sheridan nailed the role of randall flagg . thanks for visiting and when is batman reading another epic tale ?
@@TrailerBoy I agree. I think he's a brilliant actor and can be creepy enough in his own style. My favorite Goldblum performance was his role as the scientist in the Fly. Batman said he's coming back soon, but I'm not sure if it's going to be as Hamlet to the Joker's Claudius, Doyle's Sherlock Holmes, or for another original creepy pasta by our boy Rick. Thanks for the interest. It means a lot when awesome channels like yours take notice.
@@OldBearby
sherlock would the fitting choice IMO, yet batman as hamlet and the joker as claudius
is an offer too tempting to be refused :)
I could get into Goldblum playing this role. I'm also really curious about how Christopher Walken would have come across, especially with him later on doing Pulp Fiction.
Great job TB 🙂
This is really cool

Matt Frewer was also in one episode of Robin of Sherwood, as a fake Robin, hired by the Sheriff to give the outlaws a bad name.

Ray Walston also played alongside Patrick Stewart in Star Trek TNG as Boothby :)
Hello Trailer Boy 👋😁 Thank you sooo much for visit my channel thats means a lot to me my friend 😅💪 i left a big like for another awesome and informative actors sharing and wish you a great day with healthy and happiness 👋😁👍
Ruby Dee looked good for 72!
One of my favorite movies of all time...SO sad that everyone but Rob & Molly are gone! I didn't know....😭
The only ones who are gone are Ruby Dee, Ray Walston, and Miguel Ferrer. The rest of the cast are still living.
This was an EXCELLENT cast. Even down to the casting of minor characters like Rat Man and Julie Lawry. REALLY WELL done. I actually thought the three characters that were the BEST casting were Adam Storke as Larry Underwood, Peter Van Norden as Ralph Bretner & OMG, Ray Walston as Glen Bateman was particularly PURE GENIUS casting because those three characters are SO important and pivotal to the storyline, and the three of them played the characters EXACTLY as I saw them in my head in the novel. It was literally PERFECT casting. Rob Lowe as Nick was good, but Bill Fagerbakke as Tom Cullen was STUPENDOUS casting! He also I felt deserved an Emmy. Ruby Dee as Mother Abigail was good (I personally wanted to see Cicely Tyson play it though) and Sinise as Stu was pretty good too, BUT, Molly Ringwald as Fran didn't wholly work for me. Corin Nemic and Laura San Giacomo as Harold Lauder and Nadine Cross though? AH-MAHZING! Jamey Sheridan did a good job with Flagg, but he wasn't scary enough, imho. 🤷 Matt Frewer as Trashcan Man though, was the ULTIMATE pinnacle in the casting process. NO ONE ELSE could have done that role. NO ONE. He NAILED it. He DESERVED an Emmy for it. He was PHENOMENAL!!!! He literally DISAPPEARED into the character. FASCINATING. NO ONE can touch his performance or do justice to Trashcan Man like he did. In fact, NO ONE else needs to bother. Matt Frewer 's performance was UNTOUCHABLE. No one else's performance would EVER live up to it.
Some of them were spot on but read the book and many of them were not well picked.
Jaimy Sheridan is the better Flagg instead of Skarsgard
