In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were SEALED with the Holy Spirit of promise,14. who is the guarantee of our inheritance UNTIL the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory. » Ephesians 1:13-14 NKJV First you are sealed. Meaning you are marked, as God's possession, you are God's property , you are owned by God. Paul is giving us an assurance through the Holy Spirit we have an inheritance of Christ and that will be until the redemption of the purchased possession. That's speaks of our body when it will be changed to be like His body when we meet Him. Meaning as long as Christ has not yet come the Holy Spirit will abide in us. That's a promise, this promise is based on what Christ has done. If the Holy Spirit will leave then what Christ did on the cross was in vain. If the Holy Spirit leaves then we don't differ from the guys in the old testament. And yet the Holy Spirit was upon them but not in them. We have received far better than they for now the Holy Spirit remain in us for how long FOREVER.
