Those are crazy popular around the office. All the geeks and nerds seem to have their favorite character. At least they make for cheap gifts to give people. That's the only time I buy them. Me, I just have books at my desk. I like to read whenever I have a break and I don't really care for e-books. I like the feel of pages in my hands. Guess I'm just super old school like that.

Super Paper Mario was a good idea on its own. A sidescroller with RPG elements like battle mechanics, towns, NPCs, elaborate story, etc. is super interesting, and it makes sense that they'd try it with a Mario RPG series of all things. It was cool as a one-off idea. I think the problem is that instead of returning to its roots... we got Sticker Star.

Oh-oh my god. That's my Mii at 11:05, *I'm Jackson!!!* Some of the footage from my old Wii Play review got used here, this is crazy! I'm having trouble fathoming that I kind of made a cameo in a rabbidluigi video, even if its just a technicality. I honestly had to do a double take, I'm a big fan so it's kind of hard to believe haha. (It also made me realize I seriously need to make a new video some day pfff)
The tank minigame of Wii Play is incredible, and should be made into it's own game, period.

I wouldn´t blame Super Paper Mario for anything, it was different but I still absolutely love the game. Even if it is technically just a platformer. I don´t know, the story and the characters still felt alive in the game, unlike Sticker Star where everyone is a Toad.
It was even the most dark game of the franchise, too.

@A Gamer Aaron Super Paper Mario was still a GOOD game though. It´s fine that they fucked up with Sticker Star afterwards, but they should have just tried to return to the previous formula after that
Here's the thing about PUBG that people don't talk about. The reason it got so big was because it was developed, marketed and sold in China right after the lifted their Console Ban they've had for decades. China already had a limited market and then all of the sudden all their game media was advertising this new must play game that was made in China. This greatly increased the numbers ontop if the people who carried over from DayZ/H1Z1 and then in west they advertised it as "30 million people are playing this game" and the wanting to fit in with everyone else mentality caused many people who wouldn't have bothered with the game to dive into it. That is why it was successful and why once the "it's the brand new must play" mentality died down it's profitability greatly decreased practically over night and they been having trouble with it ever since.

Or the fact that the company behind pubg stopped updating and fixing the games bugs was the cause of its downfall. People fall through the map and hackers run ranpit through the game. That's why people stopped play, the company that made it just stopped caring. And I dont like fortnite but look how much new stuff is added to the game every week. Pubg might get a new gun every 2 months and you got fortnite with a teleporter that brings a GIANT FUCKING DINASOUR. In short pubg has been dying because the company and developers just dont care

I agree. Perhaps it's nostalgia, but me and my friends would always play this game when they came over. For £10 worth of game I'd say it was definitely worth it and could have a good time.

I nominate Puyo Puyo Sun for Windows 95. Can't even find a physical version anywhere, but thanks to the English fandom, the fan translation for that particular version made it the most popular version in the English Puyo fandom.
Also, it's like... the best version of the game.
I emulated the Gamecube version of Future Perfect. It was a ton of fun.

The Kinect was a self-aware piece of tech. Either it liked you and worked flawlessly or it didn't and you got to be one of the horror stories. I once played Sonic Free Riders with my brother. He weaved and moved around flawlessly... My hedgehog was arrested for drunk boarding.

I've brought this up before and it was part of the poll once a time, but I'd like to mention Worst JRPGs again, especially with The big JRPGs we've had lately.
Top Five Worst JRPGs has a lot of potential candidates, and I can even give a good candidate for the number one slot, Lunar: Dragon Song! That game is easily the most annoying to ever play and ruined the legendary Lunar series!
I'd definitely put Tecmo's Secret of the Stars on that list. What little story it has is not interesting at all, some of the shit you have to do to progress is so cryptic it confuses me how people beat it without a guide, none of your party members speak aloud except in one scene with the exception of Tina, and the battle system is basically shitty Chrono Trigger.
The game's saving grace for me is it's very botched translation, which makes the game unintentionally hilarious. Even though it's objectively awful, especially since it came out around the same time as Final Fantasy 6 and Chrono Trigger, I still love it for nostalgia reasons and it's really funny translation.
It's also where I get my name from. (Tacosmin being an in-game item dropped by the boss Clarken)
Ive tried "Hack// G.U Last Recode" on STEAM, but the tutorial took way too long (more than an hour) and all over the place.
I would like to introduce you to Stargazer. Easily the most broken, most retarded jrpg ever made.
For those I've played, I'd like to bring up Valkyria Revolution, Final Fantasy 10, Dark Rose Valkyrie, and Persona 1. I'd also like to bring up Koudelka.
Final Fantasy 2 (JPN) is another classic candidate for that list, even more so than I think popular punching bags like FF13 and FF15. A game that is brutally difficult not simply for any sense of genuine challenge and more because of bullshit game design, such as stats levelling up only when the action using those stats are used (attacking boosts strength, taking hits boosts HP/Defense, using magic spells boosts that magic's strength, etc.), leaving the overworld open enough that the player can wander too far off the intended path and encounter enemies that they have no chance in fighting at their current "level," and giving every boss fight a seemingly inherent resistance to physical attacks, meaning that magic may as well be the only way to go. The worst part is that this is only scratching the surface of that game's numerous design problems.

@@amirgarcia547 I suppose you could argue LGPE didn't really hit the mark, even though most fans don't consider it a mainline game contrary to what TPCi says. SwSh...it really comes down to how much damage was truly done by Dexit. I think once they release a demo and it gets datamined, we might have a better means of prediction then.
Metroid4ever LGPE might’ve gotten its fair share of fan backlash, but from what I gathered only hardcore Pokémon fans really took issue with it due to it removing core gameplay features and having Go catching mechanics. Since it was more geared towards...well, casuals, casual fans still generally enjoyed it for the most part, and it got generally positive reviews from critics.
Of course, only time will truly tell how much damage Sw/Sh does to the series, even if the wake of the Dexit drama.

Sticker Star was the only one I've played out of that list. It was my first RPG ever, as well as the first game on a console i ever beat (this was back when I was 15 and my childhood was cartoons and edutainment games) so I had no standards and thought it was fine.

Talk about Intelligent Systems giving fans the middle finger. Completely stripped away every single thing that made the original and The Thousand Year Door great.

0:24 That sense of entitlement is pretty legit when Gamefreak's "future proof" models caused oodles of lag, and people have been paying for Pokemon bank for 5 years.
And that they said that they were cutting out Pokemon to give “better models” when they have obviously used the same models in the game.

Not the same as Gamefreak's situation, but damn close. Pokemon is so popular that Gamefreak can kinda get away with anything, the game will still sell millions, and it lead to this situation, where they make yearly releases, but make them kinda meh.
From what I've seen from twitter tho, rabbidluigi's response to all this is just: "Stop complaining. Let people enjoy things".

I've said it once on another thread and I'll say it again: graphics were never a problem until GF made it one to justify the lack of Pokemon. It's like if I handed in an essay to my teacher that clearly wasn't proofread, and claimed it was because I didn't have enough time-- only for him to take one look at my calendar and discover that I had an entire two weeks to work on it.
If you give an excuse for anything, it's only natural that people look into it to determine whether it's an understandable reason. Game Freak claimed they were making stellar animations and graphics, so we EXPECT stellar animations and graphics. A lot of us aren't entitled; we're giving out legitimate criticisms because we want Pokemon to reach its full potential AND because we expect a game on a more powerful console to have more content (ie: all the Pokemon) than a previous game that was on significantly weaker hardware.

@@BJGvideos Crappy textures, missing pokemon with no justifiable reason, lazy and/or missing animations, bland, underwhelming visuals (for crying out loud, this is the goddamn Switch!), reused assets (this one is a big deal because we were promised entirely new assets built from the ground up. And they said all of these assets were built from scratch, but there is lots of evidence to the contrary), uninspired antagonists, lazy gimmick, etc. And now for the problems with Gamefreak: poor management behind the scenes, blatantly lying to our faces, terrible business model, terrible employee treatment (severely overworking a small team by giving them a strict deadline and too much work all at once while the bigger team gets a nice easy job that would be better suited for the smaller team), blantant disregard for fans,being petty for the sake of it, the list goes on.
Oh, and it's only 3 months till release, so they can't fix any of these problems because that 3 months is going to be taken up entirely by production and distribution of physical copies. So, tell me again how all of these problems don't exist?
