Where can you find a scenic road in Florida that isn't packed with tourists? Are you looking for a peaceful and quiet drive with little to no traffic? In busy Florida, that can be hard to find. If you don't mind getting off of the beaten path a bit, look no further than the Big Bend of Florida, Florida's Forgotten Coast. We traveled US 98 east from our St. Andrews State Park in Panama City to Ochlockonee River State Park in Sopchoppy, Florida. The further east you go, the less traffic. Along the way, US 98 became the Big Bend Scenic Byway Coastal Trail. You'll pass a couple of beautiful Florida State Parks, St. Joseph Peninsula State Park and St. George Island State Park. This route also takes you through several charming small coastal towns. Rvers have a couple RV parks to choose from along the route with nice water views if state park camping doesn't appeal to them. Lots of water and lots of woods. Enjoy this virtual drive of the Big Bend area.

Very Nice! I have never camped in Florida but when I do I would like to explore US 98. It looks terrific. Happy Trails! 🏝🏖🌈🌞

We both agree that Florida State Parks are some of the nicest state parks that we've visited. There are several in that area with camping facilities. We also took note of those private parks, with water views! Options. We hope you get to visit sometime. That area of Florida is simply beautiful and so very peaceful. Happy Trails! 😊👋

I live in Tampa and I'm taking this trip next week. The last place in Florida I haven't explored. Thanks for this

Thanks for the awesome ride-along... we love this route all the way around to one of favorite areas, Crystal River. We also have enjoyed oysters at an oyster bar/restaurant in Apalachicola when staying St. George SP. It is interesting as you are driving along Apalachicola Bay to watch the oyster harvest boats in their fields identified with poles in the shallow waters. We have yet to stay at Ochlockonee River SP and are looking forward to a possible review. Again, thanks.

Our pleasure! This is a beautiful part of Florida and one of the few places that isn't built up and crowded. Thanks for sharing those tidbits about the area. Yes, Ochlockonee River State Park review is coming soon.😊👋

I road my Bicycle down this road, camped on the beach, very nice with a shoulder most of the way.

Thank you both for your videos, my wife and I look forward to your posts :)
You mentioned in your video how you're not fond of high bridges and I was wondering if you would consider doing a video on bridges and "white knuckle" roads ( around steep mountains, etc.) to avoid in the US? Very few YTBers discuss this which for many is a fear that stops them from traveling/nomad life. Thanks for your consideration and your channel.

Thank you so much. A video on scary bridges and "white knuckle" roads would be helpful. That is a great idea, thank you. When we do driving videos, I have to edit out my sound effects! You know, all of the gasps and front seat driving noises. Gary is a saint! 😆 😊👋

Yes. 🙄 Sometimes I forget to take them down. Sometimes I take them down along the way. I must of had them tuned out that day. Sorry about that. 😌😊👋
