Nice explanation and demo. I bought a 559 about 3 years ago because of the folding option.I thought it would make it easier to transport. Unfortunately it gets dirty and messy with the grease off the chain and one runs the risk of messing up the derailleur if the trike isn’t placed very carefully into the vehicle. In the end it didn’t take me very long to realize that folding a trike on a regular basis is a big deterrent to keep one from riding. I ride every day and found it easier just to get a Hitchrider rack on the rear and bought a nice SUV that I can just slide an unfolded trike right into without folding. It’s a clumsy and dirty process. Good intentions and well designed but a pain in the butt to do regularly.

There was a report about 8 years ago that said 9 out of 10 people fold their trike once, when they take it home. And then find out if can be a pain in the butt to do all the time. Most trikes fit fine in a SUV or hatchback without folding. And racks like Alpaca, Hitchrider, Easy Load, are a great option too.

How about a demo on folding a GreenSpeed Magnum XL with a Bosch motor. I can probably figure it out, but any suggestions would be appreciated.

Just converted our Cats to eCats. Looking for best practice on how to transport it in the bed of the truck. Can it be laid down without damaging the battery holder or the battery holder bracket or does it have to be transported standing up?

I just roll mine into my truck bed at an angle. I fit two in there, one with the rear wheel near the others front wheels. If they're folding, you could also fold them up to fit easily. If you lay the trike sideways, I would be careful and use some type of cushion.

I have found that the battery mount needs to be removed when laying my folded Dumont in the rear of my SUV.

We have not heard of anyone breaking the mount by laying the trike on that side, but it could happen if you are not careful.
