I have a Cove dishwasher and love it. I am about to start a kitchen remodel and will be adding a second Cove dishwasher. I have the model with the water softener which is great if you live in an area with hard water.
I love your reviews, there are so many dishwashers to choose from. The one feature that we don't see is speed. Why is it that professional Hobart dishwashers can run a complete cycle in 3 minutes and even these high end home models take over an hour? Rather than multiple cycles, I would opt for speed.
I just replaced my Bosch benchmark with a cove dishwasher. I had a lot of trouble getting Bosch to repair their unit under warranty, even though it was throwing the same error code over and over again. Cove washes great and with the extended dry feature it actually dries very well for everything except plastic. with a factory certified installer they have a six year warranty and I know the subzero repair people in my area and they’re great. Now that they’re widely available I think cove is the way to go for great quality and service after sale.
For those of you that are worried about the plastic not drying well, it’s because plastic does not retain heat like glass and porcelain. Completely normal
Thanks for the video going to be a remodel in a few years and was already planning on SubZero and Wolf, have been using Bosch for decades, the rebate (if still available) will seal the deal.
We have a Sub-Zero refrigerator that came with our house and like it. It is 30 years old and if it goes terminal we will likely get another. Three years ago we ordered a Wolf range. It took months to be delivered and we really like it. So we would be the type of customer to get a Cove dishwasher, and we did look at them. But we got a Bosch instead because it was less than half the price. It cleans the dishes, is quiet, and hasn't broken. What more could you ask for? The difference between the ranges of different manufacturers can be significant. But the differences between dishwashers are trivial, like the format of the racks or where the buttons are located.
Service. My last Bosch never worked right, E 31 error, five months of repairs then they refused saying it was installed improperly. After handwashing dishes for five months I bought a cove. If I could launch my cheaper bosch through the front window of their headquarters I would.
I just replaced my 15 year old Miele that had run over 5,000 cycles with only minor repairs-think about that. I just bought a 7000 series Miele and expect no less. I would never underestimate Sub-Zero/Wolf, but water is a different animal and I’ll await to see the long term performance.
I know that having the controls in the top of the door is esthetically pleasing because the controls are hidden but I wish that Cove offered an example with the controls in the front of the door where they weren’t subjected to heat and humidity.
This is an Epic Dishwasher and she never even Touched on the plastic settings and multiple extended drying options for plastics etc. Even at the $2495 Price I paid the $1000-1200 kitchen Aids lasted 5 years tops and normally fell short having issues after the first year, The first Frigidaire in 2004 lasted 5 years and the pump went out too expensive to fix. Then We had 3 kitchen Aids in 12 years they have no durability and the last Frigidaire professional in 2022 dries horribly, They replaced it and let me keep the old unit, I sold both the old one and replacement on marketplace and got the COVE we wanted, Best move ever. 5 Year parts and labor warranty and added extra year when install by a subzero installer.
Why has not a manufacturer come up with a dishwasher with stainless steel racks? They would never rust. I would think a $2600 appliance might have that.
This is the best youtube channel on designer appliances IMHO. Is mold a big issue in washing machines? If yes, does the GE significantly reduce this problem enough to choose it over Miele? If money is not an issue, what’s the best washing machine that money can buy? In your dishwasher tier video your top pick was the Miele G7366 why weren’t miele’s top of the line dishwashers included? Does it translate to a buyer not getting their money’s worth above the G7366. Thank you.
I never thought mold was a big issue in a dishwasher....Dishwashers don't have gaskets or maybe GE had extra Microban lying around. The G7366 is the most popular of the G7000 series. The top end has more cycles, a better interface, and 5 year warranty.
It’s an option, the model with water softener adds about $100 and it’s a real water softener with resin beads that get recharged, not just a salt dispenser
"The problem is the price" is a succinct way of stating the obvious: you could pay about half as much for a Bosch 800 and get comparable washing results with a better drying system. It makes sense when a global appliance manufacturer integrates good-to-great dishwashers in the lineup as in the case of parent company BSH owning Bosch, Gaggenau, and Thermador. It makes less sense for Sub/Wolf to try to crack this market with a single high-priced offering. The probably should have leveraged their existing brands instead of calling it "Cove", but maybe they have broader plans that have not yet been marketed. Sub/Wolf have a way to go before their dishwasher will be more than a sales incentive for a captive package deal (and strategy to prevent competitors from taking market-share).
You said it! It's Subzero + Wolf + Cove to take full advantage of those rebates. Of course, that's with a year-long wait time for these premium brands.
@@YaleAppliance1 ha, guess you haven't priced up a SubZero side-by-side fridge, with a wolf range, wine fridge, cove washer, and exhaust hood. it adds up quickly when doing a high end home kitchen.
@@YaleAppliance1 Range = 13k, can be up to 18K. Fridge = 15k, can be up to 20K. Full Wine storage = 9k. Vent Hood = 3K, Double stack built in oven = 10K, Microwaves = 2K, Cove dishwasher = 2.5K. So full fit out can range from 50 to 65K for JUST equipment. I guess we don't need to install any of it? Kitchen aids suck! Made by whirlpool had 3 in the last 12 years the one with the window lasted 18 months and was discontinued, Major pump failures, and built cheep,
The Cove looks like a good dishwasher, but not worth the price to me. I have a Bosch with Crystal Dry, which is amazing. I can't imagine every buying another dishwasher without Crystal Dry or a similar drying system.
Cove is epic and she never mentioned the plastic drying cycle that is as good as the crystal dry which is amazing, Bosh has service issues in my area and I prefer American made

Good question....I used to wash dishes. Those Hobarts are 240 volt, to get super hot quickly. Miele has their Pro with that capability.
Great review!

That’s very interesting about the warranty issue with Bosch. Did it do a better job drying the plastic then the Cove does?
@@KickNine yes, but honestly not enough to be worth the headache of trying to get it fixed when it threw an E31 code daily for four months
Have used the plastic setting?? and extended drying??

Another great video! Very nice dishwasher would complement wolf and subzero to a tee! Excellent host
Was waiting for this video. Thank you. I have a question. Can you confirm if the external stainless steel panel is fingerprint resistant
The stainless panel is the same as subzero fridge. Use a oil based conditioner and fingerprints wipe away, or get a panel - all coves are panel ready

So true...You can buy a very good dishwasher at half the price. However, you get the rebate with other purchases
Not a fair assessment on others dishwasher just the good one u had! Lots of cheep 1000 dishwashers that are junk

Are you saying it does a better job drying plastic than they lead you to believe in this video?
How’s the reliability of this dishwasher based on service calls?
Haven't sold enough to know.
How about now? Any update on reliability

They are stainless steel, but covered with nylon...that's what the appliance salesman at my local store said.

Please read the comment again. I’m asking of washing machines not dishwashers.
Isn’t it based off of Asko? That’s not a bad thing . . .
No, its not...well officially not. SubZero was the Asko distributor for years.
Miele it is
It doesn't look like it has a salt reservoir? That's a major drawback for a dishwasher at this price.
The other model does and its not needed with good water

Cove offers a 6 year warranty if a certified service provider installs the dishwasher.

Absolutely the worst dishwasher I have ever owned!! It is so fickle it is ridiculous. Not worth the money
