- DEER CAMP 2022. The Season Begins. The first 5 days at The Tent has Sara and Zachary up here at camp like usual. The tradition continues. Still more deer camp to come and it includes big weather changes.
I could hardly wait till the most famous line is said by Joe "Sara it's time to get up" LOVE IT!!!!!

In my own way, I have tried to do the same with my adult son and daughter, but something went wrong/haywire evidently for me, but at least I tried.

The time you spend talking to your Dad and brother: you have all your priorities in place.
My husband fell from a ladder at his job at Lowe’s in 2022. So many people would say, “Oh that happened to my Dad or Grandfather and they didn’t live very long!”
My husband went through emergency hip replacement, rehab, PT for 6 weeks and started at new job within the company at a different town. We are almost thru 2022 and he is still going strong! I would say the excellent PT was a big part of his recovery and resting/eating good meals.
Thanks Joe for showing your fans “how to live a good life, while working hard!”

I have a 2011 f350 6.7L diesel that is a BEAST. I'll never go gas again. I've driven on some truly treacherous mountain roads and hauled a 30' RV over the continental divide in that thing, and I never even felt that I was hauling anything. Amazing truck....
Same with my 2006 6.0. You just point it in the direction you want it to go no matter what the conditions are and it just drives and does not stop.

I've watch this video for years. I always kept it to watch while I was getting my chemo. Hunting is what kept me alive so I could take my girls hunting. Chemo this year was shut down. Thanks for the videos.

Also sounds like you may have eliminated the the pesky tent invaders. When I saw the mess at the first of the video I knew their days were numbered. lol. Just got in from tagging and dragging the old man’s buck! It’s been a great season for us in Michigan!
Man, this is my happy place. Grouse hunting, wood stove, old movies on dvd, deer hunting. Sheesh.
I really found the conversation between Sara and Joe about what she does for a living very interesting. It's comforting to hear her speak with such authority about her job. She'll do well! Maybe it's due to the editing, but I found Zack to be a little reserved this year. I remember lots of stories and lots of laughing back at the tent after the hunt in passed year's videos. It won't be long before Zach will be bringing his children up the tent for their first hunting experience. New memories will be made here soon for the next generation. The torch will be passed to the next generation the first time you hear Pa Paw say, "it's 4:30 Rose, time to wake up!"
It was not that Zach was quiet but when editing there were lots f conversations that were happening but the Tv was on. I had to edit them out due to copyright. My final product just ended up seeming like he was more reserved.

Thanks for taking us along for the ride, Joe, Sarah, and Zach! Regarding the deer population in N. Minnesota, Outdoor Life had a compelling article about it, dates Jan. 24, 2022. Wolves are always the first to be blamed but it's much more complicated than that, and in the end, the hard winters probably have more to do with the long-term decline. Some hunters still blame coyotes here in PA for the lower deer numbers in our big woods and really statewide. Based on research, the reality is bobcats and bears play more of a role in fawn mortality than coyotes. Habitat losses or degradation seem to be the primary culprit here, not the predators. Keep the content coming, been enjoying your vids. For years! Good luck!!!
Studies show that in NE Minnesota the wolf population is killing 40% of the deer herd. That is a big chunk.
We’ve hunted out of Cook, Mn for decades and the past few years have been barren for deer. The winters have always been harsh in the swamps and low areas, but the wolves have been finishing off what survives.
I've been waiting too hear dear on the pole...

My favorite time of the year !! Deer hunting itself and seeing a notification from the channel involving Deer Hunting !! And I agree with you Joe; I do believe the wolves are hindering the hunts for you all up there !! Yellow Stone National Park Service found out that to many wolves can really hurt wildlife populations and it wasn’t just a matter of them surviving they actually started to kill for fun there and leave what they killed to rot. Sometimes even the predators have to be thinned out !!

I appreciate sara liking her sleep, but since i was 16 years old I was always up and ready to go hunting hours before I really needed to be. I'm 43 and at hunting camp im the only one who doesn't set an alarm and im still the first one up. Tomorrow is my last chance at an archery deer then Saturday is our gun season. Your video's are great and i love your kids are so involved, deer or no deer

I live in the UK, we have quite a stock of old 14th/15th/16th century oak framed country pubs.
As people were shorter in those days, the main beam is always low.
Often the sign says "Duck or Grouse" rather than the boring mind your head.
Perhaps your doorway should have a sign saying "Deer or Grouse" 😊
I look forward to the “movies” y’all make every year! I have not hunted deer since 2000 after 3 tours in Iraq I kinda lost the taste for it. I still love the camp life nevertheless. Thank you for letting us tag along.

Have been following the channel for 6-7 years now. Always look forward to the videos. As an Englishman always find it difficult to understand why it’s common practice to shoot game, grouse and duck, off the ground/surface of the water, rather than in flight! Deemed as unsportsmanlike here in the U.K! Otherwise, another great video!
