I normally don't comment but to clarify. I do believe what I say in my music. But that's where I like to keep it. What bothers me is when people are on timelines/social media constantly saying how amazing they are with nothing to back it up. It weighs on my ear when I know I am giving every ounce that I have to improve and get better with no sleep because I care so much about this. What I mean to say is don't keep telling me that you are great. Go be great. I love to see people putting on the line because that's what motivates me to elevate as well. To be truly great you need confidence. And I want that for all my peers, But there is a point where confidence becomes delusion.

is this man okay?? what does growing up on hip hop do to disconnect you from understanding music from their nerdcore community. Don’t kendrick and eminem as well as others have songs where they rap as a woman? Or someone for a little describing an event or something, even pitching their voices higher? We know they are not actually that person much like we KNOW Dps isn’t Homelander, sooo what are you talking about?? because the characters fictional everything the rapper says is too? I’m confused can you not take the real stuff they say and understand the metaphors that they make with fiction. I think it’s basic comprehension skills to take what rappers say at face value and actually understand what they mean under it. Also if you care about how someone acts or how they actually are in real life AND you’ve never met them before in irl that’s PARASOCIAL, you do not KNOW them take a step back and reevaluate, please this take on nerdcore music makes me lose brain cells every time you try and reaffirm it
@@sugardady1019except he didn’t really have any criticisms of the beat, the rhyme structures, the flow, any of it. The only thing he seemed to bitch about was the fact that he was rapping in character. Which is just the genre
I’d like to point out a very specific thing that you said right here at 8:45 “What I liked about Anime rap is the people who used the characters to draw a parallel to themselves.” I have some news for you, sir. They’ve BEEN doing this since BEFORE YOU EVEN LEFT. It’s genuinely absurd the number of times you’ve came back to NerdCore, said basically this exact thing with full confidence, and been blatantly wrong. It’s genuinely impressive. We all know the REAL reason you stopped reacting to NerdCore as much. I have more I WANT to say, but I’d just be wasting my time, so I’ll just leave with this. #MariBetter
It kind of sounds like you're mad that people who write about serial killers aren't actually serial killers themselves. Like you'd be happier in the days when pro wrestlers committed to their characters one hundred percent whenever they were in public and pretended that that was who they really were. Almost all entertainment is built on deception at some level. You've gotta feel how you feel though, I can't be mad about that.
I love how Scru will listen to a Nerdcore song just to bash it and basically say it's not real rap while also not understanding that there rapping as the characters not who they are personally, that's the whole point of Nerdcore, sigh this man will never learn
Scru reason feel like an excuse to not say his real reason, because Nerdcore at the end of the day are doing what Epic Rap Battle of History do play a character, yet he doesn't give Erp the same criticism
7:20 you clearly misunderstand what anime rap is to begin with. The dudes aren't rapping as themselves they're rapping as characters, it's like acting. Right now Homelander is rapping not DPS. Of course there are instances where the artist can take inspiration from a character and rap as themselves.
The intellectual dishonesty is crazy. Dude clicks on a video with Homelander in the thumbnail, "Homelander Rap" in the title and every frame of the video is centered on Homelander and still asks if DPS is rapping about himself or if its from Homelander's pov. It really feels like he's just coming up with reasons to not give him his flowers for making good music simply because its Nerdcore.
Agreed. There have been cases where an artist can relate to a character and has chosen to embody that character on a track for that reason, but it's not always the case and even then, the ultimate perspective is the character's. So at best the answer to whether someone is rapping about themselves or the character is both, but always the latter.
If it's youtube rap or mainstream it doesn't matter. I guarantee you scru isn't living the stuff he raps about. Half the people in mainstream doesn't live the life they rap about.
@@kevdax5497 scru got humbled for tryna boost up a beef that got nun to do with him for views Mari mention this nigga once had him shook and that’s when the disses start coming
I mean just diss DPS and find out. That is all you have to do to see what they are like. Hiphop is a sport right? Put that helmet on and go crash out to check them.
Making a diss track on DPS is admitting that the nerdcore scene is legit enough to take seriously, Scru too scary to backtrack his dumpster takes like that
DPS already did do a diss bcause of the back handed compliments scru likes throwing out but did him a mercy by putting it in the brily rap and not calling him out by name. He shouldn't poke the beast.
You explain it in a way that makes it sound better, but basically you’re saying you only accept good rap if it comes from someone who lived through the struggle. I say this because you say you don’t like it when they don’t talk about themselves, but if a rapper goes out there and talks about their perfect childhood you ain’t even gonna listen to the song, so you’re basically saying good rappers have to come from the hard life.
He didn't really say that... he said the song connects to him more if thats the case, doesn't necessarily make them better or worse if they dont hit that variable, point being he clearly says dps is a good ass rapper and has an interesting story, which Im sure he knows more than most of us since he had conversations with the guy and appreciates when he makes references to it.
@@SlivkoverseStories Yea he did say that about the connection thing, and that totally makes sense to me, like a whatever floats your boat. But Im saying that Scru’s reactions are less about how he connects to it and more about what problems he finds with them. Like as soon as he decides “they not about that life” he’ll start picking apart the song and spend less time enjoying it and more time finding whats wrong with it. Then he’ll justify it by saying things like “I don’t connect with it” or “You should be able to get the bar without seeing the show” and then he implies that Nerdcore isn’t part of hip hop and only a few nerdcore artists actually listen to hip hop. Its like he takes a decent point and uses it to try to push a bunch of bad takes.
As far as him trying to push a bunch of bad takes, those aren't bad takes at all. Scru has explained in multiple reaction videos on why he likes the kind of music he does and what turns him off from other kinds. I've used this example a couple times, but I would feel the same way scru does if someone like connorquest dropped a gun bar. No hate to connor, but i wouldnt take him seriously seeing how hes more into the vtuber life now. that and he seems like a genuinely nice guy so i wouldnt be able to take the bar seriously. After a while stuff like that becomes stale. Thats what I personally think Scrus main gripe is. Him saying stuff like "i dont connect with it" is literally just him saying that it doesnt sit with him. Hes also explained how certain music raised an influenced him so hes definitely biased towards that.
@@ImmortalRasca I can understand him not connecting with it, my main issue is the way he goes about expressing that. Like his main reason for not liking a lot of nerdcore songs is literally the basis that nerdcore is built on, so ofc he wouldn’t like it, but instead of leaving it alone, he comes back to them and spends half the video talking about why he doesn’t like it. All that does is take away from potential nerdcore fans. Especially since he doesn’t know much about the characters that are being rapped about, so he assumes that everything is just the rappers making it up about themselves. I know this because when he does react to a character he knows and catches the bars, he’ll call them out for being hard, but when the reference flies over his head, it switches to not being connected to the rapper. All in all, I think he should just stop coming back to nerdcore if all he’s gonna do is try to pull people away.
@@mohamedkaba5139 Im gonna keep it a buck 50 5 with you man. I dont think people are finding out about nerdcore from Scrus channel. When he reacted to it 6 times a day yeah maybe. But this has been the way scru reacts to alot of stuff. It also doesnt help that the nerdcore community always attacks him for just stating his opinion on it. No one likes his reactions but they still come back to watch it and hate on it. If anything, the community is what would steer people off, not Scru not liking the essence of the genre. Its a reaction channel, hes giving his genuine reaction, if people dont like it then they dont have to watch it. I see very few people willing to have a genuine discussion, 99% of it is just hating and gatekeeping.
Songs are stories no matter if it's rap, pop, rock, etc, I'm just confused because you click on these Homelander or Goku raps and seem to not comprehend they're rapping as those characters. It's a Homelander rap so why are you confused on if its DPS or Homelander, it's like asking glorb is he really shooting innocent people and selling coke or is SpongeBob doing it.
I agree with the beginning of your comment, even today im pretty sure about 70% of mainstream rap is just not completly true. Its all about relatability and connection, Scru is disconnected with the whole idea of not being true to oneself or what he says, thats why he is confused. In a way its a good thing because in contemporary nerdcore the artist and character blend really well its hard to tell who's who sometimes and I agree with that critisism, and it made him stray away from anime rap which is valid. Anime rap is great when its about a character you can relate to and can you relate to Homelander as a Demi-God who is physically better than humans? (Which is kinda the energy of the song) No. But I guess you relate to a character having issues with himself, maybe because he is an introvert for example. Artists mimic the character's energy, and speaking of issues, maybe a more sad song about Homelander, his trauma and all the crap he went through, not as a flex but as an issue that acummulated and made him what he is, that is more relatable to most people, unfortunatly if thats the case, but its essentially universal music, something nerdcore has kinda evolved into, and most nerds are kinda insecure, not as much now but its still a social struggle in some cases hence why it speaks to geeks or nerds more so than mainstream music listeners. Its a cultural and social thing, pop culture is mainstream and so anime rap is going mainstream somewhat, but its still mostly subjective, so many homelanders songs can come out simultaneously and all of them different. One about him being a badass, unstoppable beast of a psychopath, or that kid always traumatized to the point of needing a constant stream of attention and affection.
@@SlivkoverseStories no, that's not it at all. DPS isn't a demi-god that's superior to all humans, he's saying he's the best nerdcore rapper to do it. He's better. It's so simple to take very simple things and draw a parallel with them.
@@God_of_RDA Im not saying what he is saying I was talking about relatibility. My point was its subjective how you wanna look at it, but you need to know the person a little bit to know if those words hit closer to home then one might think and those paralells or bars hit harder too.
I understand the perspective scru is coming from. But in DPS's case I honestly believe he really does believe his music is better than the majority of people in his genre.
I don't lol there's plenty of nerdcore rappers who do what scru wants them to and he ignores them, he will ignore rappers like Breeton Boi, Aerial Ace, Ham Sandwich and focus on the anime rap he specially doesn't mess with
I like Scru and all but I feel like he didn’t want to be associated with “nerdcore” cause he probably feels like it lessens his credibility, even though he became popular through this stuff. Kinda like when the dude becomes popular in high school and ditches his friends from middle school

So true. But at this point most nerdcore artists have massively surpassed scru so it's also kinda funny. If you are a casual listener to nerdcore of course you can't understand its "soul", know what I mean?
+ I think it's very differnt if you know what or who the Song is about and listen to it on yt with an amv. If you just happen to find it on spotify or something it is a very different thing
Ever since u just excluded yourself from the nerdcore scene to try and make yourself more involved in what you call "real" rap my interest in you as person and a content creator has faded so much.
I always took it at if he makes a video based on a character it’s him giving his lyricism and rapping skills to that character, or to make it more relevant he’s their ghost writer. Because out side of a handful of characters none of them could rap. Case in point the Pickle rap he drop before this the character is no verbal in the show but that track is first on my work out mix now. But look at the the Among us track he drop back when he got into with whoever they were that was a diss track because that game has no character just you and your friends controlling avatars. So any voice given to them is his not mention it’s one of the few videos of him just on screen.
For everyone in the comments talking about they couldn’t wait for Scru to react to anime rap or nerdcore again, I’m convinced you’re all either Scru Stans, also secretly hate nerdcore , or are just blatantly delusional. Bro is a literal stain on the community and honestly at his most hypocritical and gatekeepy, during these reactions and anyone who says they can’t see is closing their eyes. Bro acting like one of them wishy washy clout chasing YT rappers he always bitching about. He probably only even reacted to it because one of the actors from the show mentioned it. At this point Scru must be convinced his fan base is slow to think they wouldn’t notice him milking their passion for the nerdcore music and artist for views and money only to spit on them in practically every reaction despite previously working with and praising these same people. My biggest issue honestly is the fact that Scru somehow thinks he’s hip hop’s official spokesman and is the deciding factor on what’s good enough to be classified as hip hop or make it into the culture. Opening for someone or getting someone on your track does not mean that person’s respect and status are now translated to you. Case in point RDC has met J Cole in person and even chopped it up with him for a bit during that meeting, yet you don’t see them going around acting like they can make or break someone’s music career, as a matter of fact they’ll even tell you verbatim I’m not Jay Z, I can’t put you on like that. Meanwhile enter Scru who can apparently not only make you soar to the top but also keep you from even entering Hip Hop’s door. Shit is ridiculous
Nah writing a whole paragraph hating on a nga is crazy😂 Also some people just like to watch certain peoples reactions to stuff, its not that deep at all🤷♂️
@@paulwatson5083 we understand the point, but as to the whole reason why people want to watch more reactions is because they like watching reactions. It doesn't have to be hate or anything. People like watching people react to things.

Rustage new album has a track called MID and guess what... it's a Scru diss! He doesn't specifically say but it's heavily implied and very direct at Scru unlike other Rustage diss tracks which are broad.
Just so everyone is clear about what Scru is advocating for; 1) Less, preferably no more, AMVs & More IRL music videos so we can see the person instead of what they're making a song about. 2) Lyrics about the artist instead of the character they're making a song about 3) A more 'hip hop' attitude in regards to 'im better than you' So, in essence, he just wants to take out the 'nerd' part and just make Nerdcore into what the 'mainstream music' machine already is. He literally just wants it to be like everything else. WE AINT INTERESTED, SCRU. MOVE ALONG!
In case people who read this comment (very real btw, you smacked the nail right on the head) still don't get it, I'll make it even simpler. Scru doesn't want nerdcore anymore. He wants normal songs. He'd rather listen to mainstream rap than listen to the fucking HEAT that nerdcore rappers drop. And he only does this because he got peaced up by Mari when they beefed.
Rap, like many other types of music, comes in many forms. At its fundamental level Rap is just rhythm and poetry. Not like us is rap Alexander Hamilton is rap Nerdcore is rap You talkin like this is puts music and creativity in a box.
"you (the artist) will always be the most interesting part in the rap" that's like the opposite point of nerdcore songs like these, right? Im not saying we shouldn't care what DPS says, but if you have a homelander rap, you should be rapping *as* homelander in it. Because otherwise you're just playing clips from homelander, while rapping your own song, and that just feels like an "AMV" more than nerdcore

The thing about nerdcore is the art of the emotions and characteristics of the characters. Which you could possibly (not everyone) draw into yourself. The only reason some songs might not a line with some ppl in their lives is but they still do it is bc the art of their emotions that other ppl might feel. But if you’re wondering where the line cross with dps and this character in this song is legit when he say he’s better. I respect art not matter wat form but I do have my own taste and idk how dps is his life but some of the songs he might not feel or have an emotion connection, I do towards the said character. One of my favorite songs from him is the death rap bc it talks about how ppl don’t care about there lives until it’s over. In short characters are poetry with meaning that some ppl not all have a connection or share views wit. Sorry for rant much love 💪🏾 and remember art is subjective and music hip hop rap it’s all art created by the author.
For my fellow Nerdcore fans, I wanna defend Scru's point. Scru is just saying that he expects artists to be qbout what they rap about. Yes, Nerdcore artists usually make songs surrounding characters, but they do also make songs that apply to themselves. These are the kinds of songs that Scru is drawn to. But with what some of these artists say outside of their music, it gets confusing for him whether they actually believe it when they say things, like "I'm better". He's not saying that it's a bad thing that people are acting in certain songs, it's just not what he's interested in. And when they use things like gun bars or false bravado in their songs to make it sound tougher, it feels kinda cheap to him, since he actually comes from that kind of background. To me, it seems obvious, when you look at DPS's catalog, that he does think he's the best. He's just a friendly guy and doesn't like boastful people, so he tries not to participate in that kind of behavior. Shwabidi has said before that he loves his peers, but he'd kill all them on a track. Another example is Aerial Ace. Sure, he's smaller, but as a fan of his stuff, I think I can say that he thinks he's up there. "Don't need numbers to say I'm the GOAT" - His Destiny 2 Rap. The Nerdcore community just seems to be a lot more friendly when it comes to the subject of competition and things like that, which isn't a bad thing at all.

Scru just doesnt recognize that in hip hop itself what he's talking about does happen a lot more than in many other genres so it's funny to see how some people just have such narrow perspectives
Sometimes it just about the music. You don't listen to death metal and think the person who wrote the song it having a retelling of a battle he had with space Jesus. But sometimes the death song it about the time he save his sister from a grape and the him to half to death. Sure all great music stems from a time of retelling ones personal story. What I mean to say is don't keep telling me that you are great. Go be great. I love to see people putting on the line because that's what motivates me to elevate as well.

@@Ne0s0lar Which rap song exactly and what part? Better yet can you quote me the words since you know where its at please?
@@SlivkoverseStorieswell said
@@SlivkoverseStories no, that's not it at all.

I mean not really man, he doesn't really need the relevancy he got more than 200,000 views this last month so it won't really matter the 6k this video is gonna bring him
@@AhmedKhaled-fv7su well I am right cause if you look back on this channel and see how Little views each one gets and I also saw your own comment and your exactly like scru, someone who is just hating on anime rappers for what there job is, understand that these people are “anime” rappers and it will never die out like you said cause there’s gonna be more anime’s coming out in the future and more anime rappers are always gonna be rapping as the characters in them and that’s there genre that’s what there supposed to do
@@HarvWinno395 when did I ever hate on anybody? and when did scru hate on anybody? he's just saying he doesn't really like the words being spoken if you don't mean it, dps himself commented on this video telling scru that he absolutely means everything that was said in this song, he didn't tell him that he was hating or anything so I don't really see your point, it's okay to disagree with what scru is saying, but if you don't rock with scru just say so bro
@@HarvWinno395 also, I didn't say it would die out, there will always be more dope characters to rap about, I'm just saying once you run out you have to wait for the next character everyone's talking about
@@AhmedKhaled-fv7su I thought I was making it very clear that I don’t like scru, but it’s ridiculous for him to say all of this hateful stuff about anime raps in the past and then comes back again to say the exact same thing once again, if he doesn’t like it no one asked for him to come back to watching anime raps just to hear him trash on anime raps again, can’t he just leave it, I moved on and stopped watching him because of it so why can’t he do the same and just leave anime raps to what they do best?
Scru love your reactions and breakdowns and this my first time hearing DPS but towards the end is the first time I felt like you were tight roping with contradicting yourself as far as how an artist chooses to portrait themselves in music and I hope we can dialogue so there's no confusion
Homelander gonna murder this beat
Wait doesnt that mean you have an issue with Eminen and Slim shady? Since one is a character he created in order to vent?
Bro needs to stay away from nerdcore fr
Yessirr it's been a long time for the anime rap🔥
I mean. Call it for what it is. You say it’s not a diss. But you’re dissing. What your pee brain seems to not realize is that everything doesn’t have to have a meaning either. I respect reaction videos but what some of y’all fail to realize is that music is mere fun as much as it’s real life. Learn the difference. The fact that you refuse to acknowledge what DPS said in the comments earlier shows who you are and that you legit don’t care. Rapping as a whole is a craft regardless as to whether that person is serious or not. Go on somewhere else if you can’t show the proper respect that people deserve smh
blud still reacting to nerdcore is crazy
Edit man even DPS had to see what trouble and nonsense u were causing and try to brighten up the negative comment section thats crazy
I mean it’s the first one in like 8 months but yeah I get it
Ong. Bro just needs to stop reacting to Nerdcore at this point period!
You always Figure out some way to bring up mainstream hip hop to Nerdcore it’s not anime rap does this look like an anime to you? Why did you even come back tbh.
The Nerdcore community just seems to be a lot more friendly when it comes to the subject of competition and things like that, which isn't a bad thing at all.
yea but half of the “real” rappers dont live ts😂
and thats simply not what nerdcore is
@@Xcapra_ Exactly. I like nerdcore because there's no drama for the post part. Just people making music. Also, every other genre of music has artist who just tell stories, makes songs about mythology and fictional stories...why can't rap/hip hop? I'm not mad at iron maiden for not actually encountering a satanic ritual in the woods when listening to "Number Of the Beast." Who care is DPS never shot a guy while making a red dot bar on a Homelander song (a character with lazer vision)?
@@JulesSofia-Emmaez i agree completely
STOP 👏 REACTING 👏 TO 👏 NERDCORE! 👏
You were thrown out of the community and still tryna make an easy bag off other people's work while giving it 0 respect
Bruhhh yall fryin this man 😂
We ain’t wrong tho
He deserves it
@@StarManSean How is you right when he's the most hype reactors
@@Retro-Design-4033He is not welcome in the nerdcore scene
So you get hype from Spongebob raps but the Nerdcore artists who you used to be all about. Even so much as to make your own Nerdcore song Broly but now act like they cant make hits? Damn shame
Rustage, DPS, Divide, Dizzy and Fabvl have been making their best music they've ever made & this guys missing out on all of it. After the annoyance subsides from his comments about them I kinda feel bad for him ngl. He is just really giving off Malfoy "My family is better than yours" energy lately and it's weird
dont you react to lil mabu. Who you to talk about who can and cant say gun bars. mabu is a gimmick but you dont take an issue with him
Bruh mad that a Genre about playing their favorite characters for people playing characters.
I mean I get that you don't like it if it ain't 100% facts, but that's not exactly Nerdcore's problem.
Scru just doesnt recognize that in hip hop itself what he's talking about does happen a lot more than in many other genres so it's funny to see how some people just have such narrow perspectives
Dude please just enjoy the song
Why return to reacting to nerdcore if all you're gonna do is slander them? Thanks for reminding me why I stopped watching you ages ago.
Pretty sure he just sped up the sample for the last verse in his first homelander rap
Nah, he re-rapped it.
You aren't welcome here.
#MariBetter
Sometimes it just about the music.
You don't listen to death metal and think the person who wrote the song it having a retelling of a battle he had with space Jesus.
But sometimes the death song it about the time he save his sister from a grape and the him to half to death.
Sure all great music stems from a time of retelling ones personal story. But some motherfuckers are just too good with music to not make it because their story is isn't like a movie. Respect for what it is, otherwise it feels like your gatekeeping. Like if it ain't this way then it ain't it. I want to enjoy your reactions to nerdcore, by your always just on repeat with the same line over and over. Feels like you only resist the genre to say it again and again
Y’all welcome for recommending this shit
Pretty sure everyone stop requesting anime rap to him, so he is reacting to this all on his own.

Bro, you know, this stuff really describes homelander. Cause I'm a fan of the boys. I just got into the boys finished episode. One a season 4 today I'm about to start episode 2 of the boys season 4 and It really fits starlander. He is an arrogant narcissistic villain. It really reminds me of a guy like myself who studies a lot about the psyches of cereal, killers and that nature and Steve psyche and why would they do things like that?Starting Landers of very good example.Even he's a fictional character , but it's connection
I’m just happy seeing Scru react to DPS again, hoping we can get some Shwabadi or Fabvl reactions again at some point
Speaking of Homelander…Scru how do you think his story ends in The Boys TV show?
