2x for me. Real life is too demanding to not have this multiplier in game. It's not like the grinding the skills is engaging or skill based for the player. Only farming has a touch of that.
@@MrFrohtastic Bags with high capacity is a good option aswell. I modded my game by altering the bags capacity and weight reduction so you can enjoy the sandbox more. Simply just chase zombies, group em kill em take all their clothes combine with a 3x-5x multipier you have done with 15-20 min.
Use the ultimate xp multiplier mod. For skills like nimble, i set it to 10x and pretty much everything else between 2x-5x since ninble takes real life days to level and still has leveling drop off (increased amount of xp needed)
Theres a really cool one now for training first aid that lets you do first aid on dead zombies, but its in beta so mod conflictions havent been ruled out Its called better first aid if you wanna try it, im gonna add it to my list this morning
I thought this would be some XP multiplayer thing but was happily surprised that it just automated monotonous in-game leveling actions. Might check this out.
I haven't tried mods and will only do so once i reach 500 hours in, so all i do is increase the experience I get from 1 to 5 in the server i host with my friend so we don't get tired of grinding skills since there's no fast forward. But thanks for the mods recommendations, Imma try all those once i start modding the game. ❤❤❤
a word to the wise when using Auto Sewing, if your clothing has holes, the mod will not work on that item, it needs to be on a "fresh" article of clothing.
im completely fine with grinding skills , the issue i have really is with 2 main skills that are far too tedious such as nimble and fitness that takes hundreds of real world hours, while in single player you do have speed up to make it slightly better its still rediculous but multiplayer is where these skills become just over the top with no speed up they are boring as hell to level and eat far too much time
There is a mod for more books, every skill is covered, and they work the same as the original books. It does help loads the only problem is finding them all without 🧟♂️🧟♀️🧟 😂
I have still never level the single XP of tailoring because I cannot figure out how it works. I have denim sheets I have leather sheets I have every kind of sheet I have holes I have needles I have thread and I still can't do anything with any of it. There has got to be a good way to do this is show me
Thats the thing about zomboid no auto thingy. I love games where you grind everything and it feels rewarding rather than doing auto. I get bored really fast doing auto reminds one of those auto lvl mmorpg games on android
That mechanics mod literally saved my playthrough. My only gripe is it was a little too effient. It felt like cheating. If you want a more realistic feeling of actually gaining the skills I'd limit your character to only 4 or 5 hours of mechanics grinding a day while using the mod
This sounds amazing. But really, the devs need to consider balancing skills a little better. It's not something that should be left to the players ultimately.
didnt they make it where if you remove parts and reinstall them just to remove them again gives you virtually no EXP? meaning the grind is longer than just finding new cars and working on them once?
After 500H I just straight up go debug mode and go lvl 10 sewing, woodw. ,metalw. and first aid I can't stand anymore the 15h it takes to do all of that There is absolumently 0 difficulties Just need to raid a book place and got a lot of time to waste
I have always played all my playthroughs in 2x exp multiplayer, leveling above level 8 is a nightmare, besides it’s not any fun or engaging it’s just grindy and I can’t waste that much real life time getting a single level in tailoring in a videogame lol, besides Idk if the 1x experience makes that much sense for the ammount of experience you get
Yes but the strips are consumed, and because leather is a bit difficult to amass in bulk compared to the endless piles of regular clothing strips that you can make out of zombie's clothes, so it makes more sense to use the regular strips for leveling purposes.
Or u could train AI to learn 2 play zomboid. I think the best mod is the journal mod. Because as a survivor u share your skills in the journal and when u die the next survivor can take it. Its a fun mod without breaking immersion. I dont use it but have it installed. I dont find it cheating . Auto mechanic and such does feel like. But I see these mods being used by office workers or dock workers lol.
when you’re at a low level of mechanics you have a almost certain chance of damaging stuff during install and disassembly, once any part reaches 0% it can no longer be reinstalled.
Automechanics is for training your mechanic skill, it doesn't prevent you from braking vehicle parts just as you do with normal mechanics, you're supposed to train using automechanic on trash/disposable vehicles so level up the skill fast, instead of taking off lights and radios for days.
beats the purpose of the simulation. There is nothing else to do other than chores like this in the apocalypse. I'm cool with hauling a few cars to my base and work on mechanics day to day. It's fun and it gives you something to do while you run low on food to go on a supply run.
Grinding skills in the first place make me feel that I have to work in the game in order to start enjoying the game. I work AT WORK, i dont want to work in game to start playing it the way i want. Depressing.
This is just bot scripts, from like Runescape. I remember doing that early on RS2 for Woodcutting to turbo characters while I was in high school to later flip the account for some money.
“Ignore a function of the game and use these mods to cheat. Fixed it for you. For the rest of you, if you’re not able to play the game without it - that’s just lazy.
I know this kinda cheating but I adjusted the multipliers to certain skills because it's just a hassle and not fun to grind a way for 10 days for a skill 😅
I feel like the grind actually gives the game a goal because once you max up your skills, everything starts to become a "so what now?" situation that'll really dampen your fun.
You saved urself 4x the material costs and clicks. You still have to click the buttons 80times now instead of 360. This converts that 80x click from ur modified exp settings down to just 1 click that goes until you used all 80 of ur strips
the fact that it takes long gives it realism as nobody would remove and apply parts of a car to power learn something in real life, making the leveling organic and realistic. Just cheat already
This is stupid. If you are going to install mods to 'autogrind' a skill, just go in to debug mode and raise the skill to whatever you want and be done with it.
If you don't want to level up your skills you just bring up debug menu and set them to 10, simple as that Turning the game into AFK grind thing kills the interest
I really like pain in the ass, so I think it's unrealistic, 'cuz real life you need approximately 5 months of stop-less studying to have the same result as your character at the 8th level of building, so... Make game a bit realistic, Indie Stone
eh. You can just go into your character file and set your skills and inventory to whatever you want. But why play the game if you aren't going to play the game?
You can also change the learning multiplier for learning skills in the sandbox options
Only bad thing with that one is that thats a global multiplier and doesnt change the tediousness of doing tailoring and mechanics.
2x for me. Real life is too demanding to not have this multiplier in game. It's not like the grinding the skills is engaging or skill based for the player. Only farming has a touch of that.

Btw a tip when it comes to ripping sheets from a huge dead lump of zombies: do it through the crafting menu

I like that it doesn't pull the exp from nowhere and just automates some mental tasks you would otherwise do to level up manually

vanilla pz is mid, modded is goated

Add the bikes mod for easy exp for fitness. You can grind fitness while using the bike for transport. Not sure if it's ok for multiplayer tho.

Alternatively use the Mod BookReader which ups your skills by reading the books for the relevant skill

We need a rip and tear mod that rips all clothing in proximity.
It's easier to just tailor your sandbox settings to the style of game you want to play.
Thats a nice realistic way of doing it, but I find it easier just to 3X the skill gains and toggle passives
3x? goddam lol
I kinda like sitting in there are leveling up tailoring, it's kinda relaxing. Mechanics on the other hand.... not so much
Me with CCDA reading: 👀
this game is about leveling skills
But spending 3 real hours just building and removing the same car pieces is just to level stuff ist stupid and bad game design
Im sure soon we can play game while doing nothing anymore. Start it and it plays itself. how cool would that be ^^

Book Learning Nerfed is a great mod too, it allows you to level up 1 level after reading a book and you only have 1 level more to learn.
PZ skill lvlng should be a mix between Pz lvlng and elder scrolls lvlng... idk, it seems natural to me...
