I can't believe they said that they expected it to launch with high mixed reviews. That was the last straw for me. I played 4 hours of this shit and it was unexciting as hell and that campaign is absolute dog shit but them saying they expected tons of negative reviews is telling me they knew it is a shit game and they released it anyways. Thank goood I did not pay for this game at all, it was already a waste of my four hours. These guys are piggybacking on the fact that they contributed on Starcraft in the past, and use that to feed their ego and use as a shield as criticism. Even if they advertised themselves as a small indie company making a small indie rts game, that campaign would still be underwhelming, but no. This game is advertised as a new generation of rts games. The fact that this game is trying to compare itself to Starcraft at all and even ripping the game off is so disrespectful to a actually great game unlike this piece of dog shit.
Yep at this point I see them as high on their own supply of former glory. Frost Giant studios had no business trying to make an RTS apparently, they weren't up to the challenge. They didn't realize the game had to look good? That the sound had to be good? They didn't understand the pace of the game had to be faster? I'm sure there's an RTS out there somewhere that's worse than this but with the pedigree they keep bragging about their game is a steaming turd in comparison. It's nowhere near War3 or SC2 in terms of fun gameplay. It's nowhere near even AoE4 which I consider a 5/10 game. Hell it's worse than any Command and Conquer game I played and there's a lot of stinkers in that series.
The reddit thread linking to this video has been deleted...It's over for stormgate. They're in full damage control mode now, with excessive censorship. This is the classic downward spiral of any company.

I played about 500 games 1V1in stormgate. You are right about everything. The only thing ist that Beasty Qt said he will stay at Age of Emprires 4. He never said anything that was just for the potential RTS Audience. I couldnt say any more about stormgate that you didnt. This is one of the worst hopes i ever saw go down.... I stay at SC2. Your videos about Stormgate tell everything. I feel the same way....
lol I am an expert in RTS games. I was prominent during the debate on gameplay when SC2 was being developed. I have said for a a long time that this project is worse than SC2 because the devs have no idea about RTS or how it works. And they learned all the wrong lessons with SC2 actually. Then, there is this weird thing about how they fund the game now, with Early Access, but also selling the game, and also having investors, but also having a kickstarter. And now I see that cinematics at 6:20. That is disturbing. Wow. You can't explain to the average person why their idea of RTS is bad. But everyone can see the faces of these animated character and realize the people creating them are utter hacks bad at art. This is being below the level of being a professional at your craft. And everyone can just see it.
You're doing God's work brother! Everyone needs to be called out by name and shamed for perpetuating this delusional view that this dogturd of a game passes as an RTS. It's VERY quiet now Day9 called the elephant in the room, I see nobody going against his opinion now? Shills are the worst, and we should really stop entertaining this type of mediocrity for a game in 2024. No innovation, no graphical improvements, dead on arrival.
I lost respect for and stopped following most RTS content creators ever since they started shamelessly shoving this garbage game down our throats for their own self interest. They deserve to be called out and lose viewers.
im happy people like WTii and Grubby are so critical of SG, you can see good creators who actually care about games, instead of shills who just promote this garbage.
This game is horrid to watch on youtube. Let alone paying for it. This seams more and more like Kickstarter Fraud to me the more I see. Where did all the money go?
Well they have an office in Irvine, California with its very own rock climbing gym. The leadership are also paying themselves about $250K each.
So what's next? They're not just going to give up and quit. What does the future look like?
They have maybe 6-12 months of runway. They're burning $1M+ per month and are nearly out of money. What's next? Layoffs.

The audio for Stormgate is so horrifically bad I could not believe it. But more importantly ranked 1v1 is the polar opposite of what casual RTS players want. Even crazier the game's pacing is glacial. I remember commenting on how terrible this game was a few months ago and people hating on me for it..but I have experience with this kind of thing. You see I gave money to Visionary Realms to make a game called Pantheon (hot garbage unfinished MMO). When you are heavily invested into a game's success it can be tough to admit the game sucks. I get it. But when your game looks and sounds this terrible just admit it don't be a shill. Even Age of Empires 4 is better than Stormgate.
It's a scam. There's no way this crap has $40 million behind it. It looks exactly like Torchlight 2 from 12 years ago, and certainly not UE5 level.
Frostgiant is burning $1 million a month, and if each player spend $10 average per month, they need 150,000 active players. It's not happening.

I've given up on stormgate. I don't know if my settings are wrong, but I didn't change anything, and the game has no audio. Just some voice lines but no actual sound effects. Either that or the audio is so bad I couldn't notice it.
I'm just waiting for another closed beta test of Battle Aces, which is actually innovating on RTS and plays great, even for a newbie to RTS like me.
I don’t know how much of it is being a shill… or just cope… they don’t want to keep casting sc2.
Then they should go get a job instead of trying to force feed garbage to the RTS community.

Well its true u cant judge a game before its released and play it, and cause ur right its bad doesnt make that any more not true, u had a 50 50 chance good or bad
