Two seniors on Honda CT/Trail 125's ride the Smoky Mountains 500 Red Section from Suches, GA into North Carolina. Mountain climbs, stream crossings and great views all day long.
Awesome videos. My group did the 500 back in June. on an assortment of bikes . The smallest was my daughters xt 250. Im 66 and would like to do it again. At a slower pace😊 I like those trail 125s.
I am a 68 yo retired vet.. Today is Saturday. I’m gonna take my big bike, a Harley, in to sell on consignment, come Monday. It’s time. Do you like the Honda? Thank you for sharing this adventure…from east Tennessee.
Hi Jeff, I’m (relatively) small at 5’8” and 160 pounds. I want to keep riding for as long as safely possible. I know I will be growing weaker and not stronger as I head towards 70 and beyond. It is what it is. I sold my dual sport Yamaha and bought (2) used Trail 125’s. I accepted that I would only be able to do local roads and any trail I chose. (The CT125 tops out between 50-55.) I hitch carry these bikes nearly everywhere we go and frequently find great places to ride. A huge benefit is I no longer have any anxieties related to dropping the bike or other weight issues. I relax and enjoy the rides more. I rarely rode 55+ roads and so have not missed having a more powerful bike. I’ve embraced local roads and riding off road.

Hey please show us what you pack
I may do a video in the future showing the items in my multi-day camping pack.
What is the highest elevation of the Smoky Mountain 500
Good question. The greatest elevation I remembered seeing on the telemetry data was 4000+ feet.
What are you using to hold your water bottle to your front rack?
