As an adopted resident in Adelaide for over 45 years, I can say there aren’t many better sights than the one you get arriving back home from that NE approach.
I'm sure that all that doughnut of parkland surrounding the central business district is an attempt at 'garden beautiful" but I imagine it kind of isolates the CBD from the rest of the city, makes it un-walkable to get from the suburbs to the inner city, and prevents meaningful and easy walking connections between the two.

Only takes a good 15 minutes to walk through. Nothing most people cant do.
