  • The Bee Gees ending their "One Night Only" world tour in style with a spectacular performance at Stadium Australia in Sydney, Australia. The concert took place on May 27, 1999 and was the first music event to be held in the newly built arena. The Bee Gees released their last live album only a year earlier in 1998. The show took place in November 1997 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, which resulted in the "One Night Only" world tour. The response of the live CD encouraged the Bee Gees to go on tour again, but it turned out to be not so easy. The tour was the first of its kind and was characterized by the fact that for the first time only one concert per continent was played. The reason for this was the rest time needed for Barry, which was also necessary due to his heart and hand problems.
The One Night Only world tour allowed the Bee Gees to play big and spectacular concerts, which had a great setlist and included all their greatest hits.
In this video you can see their performance of "Alone", a song that was released on Still Waters in 1997.

On every “live” video of Alone, Robins part is the same, pre-recorded version. I’ve listened to probably a dozen different versions and it’s always this EXACT version of his vocals. Go on, search, listen and see for yourself. The thing is, I’ve no idea why as he’s clearly perfectly capable of singing it. Maybe it was SUCH a perfect version he didn’t want to use anything else?

Got to this video for exactly the same reason, was looking for the difference in the part. It does sound very produced and possibly with some effects, maybe wouldn't have sounded the same without them

Robin is not actually singing here. It is a pre-recorded vocal track. That is why it sounds so similar to the studio version.

@@Blue-Movesno it’s not. That’s actually him singing. I’ve seen them live before and I thought the same thing. Robin was singing the whole time and I was just blown away in awe of how good he sung live. This was the best song I’ve ever heard live and I’ve heard some great artists in concert but this song and their voices was just amazing. Robin is 100 💯 singing

1:44 That guy in the background of Barry shouldn't have been in his shot like that, but it's hilarious I remember they made light of it on The Panel the next night in Australia :)

The camera team didnt know how to handle this concert. The background guitarist always looked like he is right next to Barry but he always was some 5 meters behind of him.
