personally, and i know i'm almost assuredly in the minority, i don't care at all about the team race. it is an individual tournament. if they want to crown a team champion, it should be in a dual meet format.
@@CroMagJohnson100% agree. This is all about the individuals. I don’t understand why D1 doesn’t have a national dual tournament. Don’t get me wrong I do enjoy the team race every year and it does matter but the National Tournament matter more for the individual
Thank you for this video. What a great look at the history. I thoroughly enjoyed this. It was done so well. In spite remembering the results, while watching you made me feel like I was watching it for the first time and not knowing who would win. Thanks for showing the history leading towards this 2018 tourney. Plus the back stories of all the wrestlers. I forgot this was the year Connel had the upset at 197. Nicely done.
took me a couple of days to finish due to school and work, but wow! what an amazing job you have done Tan! keep it up, I think Ohio State is soon to build another super team with their multiple freshman all-americans including Rocco Welsh who gave Carter Starocci his two hardest matches in the entire 23-24 season. I love wrestling, and I love your content.
Really enjoyed the documentary, some of your best work yet. I think your bonus point scores are wrong in the consolations. Pins, no matter what side of the bracket are 2.0 bonus points. Like wise for tech falls (1.5 bonus) and major decisions (1 point).
I remember they pushed Ohio State SO hard in promos and commercial breaks. They were clearly the biggest storyline. Tan Tom hedged his best all week leading up by claiming they would be the best second place team of all time if they couldn't beat Penn State.
The tournament, especially the finals, is much more exciting when there's actual competition for the team race.

as a penn state fan, i like it a lot better when we win by 100 tbh
Agreed
This is a great doc, and there’s lots of fans of collegiate and folk style wrestling fans that need this content. This is amazing.

Lets be honest here...Cael gifted the 2015 Natty to OSU. If he doesnt redshirt Zain, Nolf and Nickal its not close.
This tournament featured so many stars, and guys that have or probably will be Olympians if not Olympic Champions.
Know nothing about wrestling but great vid
Sheptok was my teammate. I wrestled in that NCAA tourney as a true fresh at 133, I went 0-2 BBQ hahahaha still was fun though

Ohio state is rearing up to challenge them next year
Logan Steiber should have only been a 3x champ.
Great wrestler but JO beat him in that championship match.

Promo*SM
Let's not forget 2014 Oklahoma State also had a young freshman named Daton fix
